After Johnsons crash plenty of people got souvenirs of the Greens Tuff Falcon, i watched them rebuild the donor falcon with the bits they salvaged from the crashed car, took all night and finished paint just before the race, it was never going to be competitive but they got the sponsors name on telly , i think that was the ultimate aim.Dick used all his nine lives in that crash, lucky the car was built correctly.
Geez! I miss that nice long straight, I miss group A and Group c, with all my heart, it's sad how Australian racing has turned out HATE V8 SUPERCARS. I have not watched Bathurst in years.
I watch the saint over n over again I never get tired because it's good acting 😌 ☺️ 👌 😊 esp. Roger moore a remarkable actor thanks somuch for uploading it 👍 😀 👏 🙌 😊
Australian touring cars is just a beat up on the Ford brand, its set up to make gm product look better than Ford, theres always far more holden cars than Ford cars in the field every season, Ford is allowed a couple years of dominance in between ten years of holden dominating, theres always big changes made that puts an end to Ford dominating, Ambrose 2-3 years of dominating until they drove him away, Vodafone Ford became the top team with lowndes and whincup until they switched the whole championship winning team to holden, but then Courtney beat them that year so holden also took him, then there was a bunch of years of vodafone holden dominating, then that team.became red bull holden, see they just kept that team together for a long time just because they were always winning, then added vaginaburger to their team, with these leading holden teams they allow their cars to be quicker, you can see it when watching live that no other car can stay with them theyre simply going faster, you put any driver in that car theyll win everytime, then mc Laughlin dominated for a couple of years till big changes happen again and he goes off to another type of racing, now the camaro is in the race series they have taken holdens place and always have more cars in the field than Fords just so they are more likely of winning, and they didnt care about playing fair just as long as they win, massive parity issues were ignored and Ford teams silenced for voicing their concerns, threatening to fire teams that discuss the parity issues saying it will bring the sport into disrepute, but the sport is in disrepute because of the parity issues, but we should all know that avesco Australian v eight super csr organisation had big shares in holden , and now they have big shares in Camaro, Ford should sue avesco, and wheres holden now???? Dead lol good job, and what happened to GM? they needed a lifeline from u.s government to survive, yet Ford stood on its own feet, so obviously Ford has defeated GM , gm isnt even known as gm anymore lol, 😂 facts: holden is gone Ford Australia is still going, making those vehicles called the Ranger heard of those 😂😂 dominating Australia and new Zealand for 20 years, a bit like america's Ford F150 American's number 1 vehicle of all time
The last time I met Alan Hamilton was at collingrove hillclimb in S.A. in the early 90's, I think it was the S.A. hillclimb championship. He turned up with a hillclimb special that consisted of a cosworth DFV out of a mclaren F1 bolted to a tube frame with 4 wheels and a seat! Completely mental, I think he couldn't get the thing up the hill, totally out of control at any application of throttle, bloody hilarious. He was always a really nice guy.
It's funny hearing an American trying to compare their oval track racing to a road course. They have no hills, no tight corners, and the ovals are banked. So he found one thing they had in common.
Alan Moffat was correct back then, and the same has continued ever since. I’ve watched for many years. The story we want other Manufacturers in the category, as long as Holden wins the most. Now it’s GM. Moffat was the best
Brother owns one of the KB Starions. Done a lot of racing in NZ, currently runs an early Evo engine (Galant VR4) as Kevin mentioned they should have had these fitted in the first instance. Knocks out 400 horse and runs far bigger tyres than in its early days. Has a wing hanging off its ass now a well sorted and reliable rocket.
Wow! That really was a great action packed little race. The sneaky cunning old Moffster with his totally illegal hotrod sportscar wasn't too popular with Gricey who was quick to stuff the Moff back in his box. Gricey wasn't having a bar of Moff's BS. Last I heard; the tricky ol' Moff was close to his use by date. He may have already left us? He sure did give us some fabulous entertainment over all the years he competed. Never was a fan but I do give Moff ten out of ten for putting on a great show. ATCC life would have never been what it was if not for the wily old Moff. This race showed a typical Moff performance... At the end of the race Moff clearly demonstrates he had the fastest car in the race! Another cuppla laps, Brock's rubber would have been cooked & the foxing Moff would have won it. Brock had raced directly against Moff since 1969. Brock knew all Moff's cute tricks. Fabulous time capsule race. Thanks for making it available.
Here we are in 2024 and Motor Racing in Australia and most other countries is 100% corporate owned and run for purely advertising purposes, Liberty's takeover of F1 was the final nail in the coffin for that branch of the sport.
