I have 3 or 4 of the old aluminum ones that's the model between these. It's basically the same design as the steel one, but aluminum and much lighter. Still nice, strong and wobble free like the steel one too. That new one? Too much plastic for my taste. Don't drop it on a cold day. I use mine for stoves, coolers, and tables with a piece of plywood or the roll up top I made like a roll top desk. The roll up is cool and packs nice, but I have to admit, the painted plywood one is better. Hi Stands are great accessories to have. Ice keeps much longer in your cooler when you get it off the ground too.
Nice find! You got a runner! I've actually come across just a tiny number of Coleman stoves that I wasn't able to light after 5 minutes of checks and some oil in the pump cup. I strongly recommend against running the burners on high without a pot with the grate down. I've seen way to many grates deformed from excessive heat from doing that. I've never deformed one while cooking.
The thing about the old stands was the fact that they had to accommodate 3 different sizes of stoves. 2 burner “briefcase”, 2 burner “suitcase” and 3 burner stoves. With Coleman after 1983 moving away to other units that had legs of their own Coleman had to figure out cost effectiveness. the other thing that I am surprized Coleman hasn’t done is incorporate some type of hook and loop that is attached to one of the legs in order to wrap around them to keep them from coming open on accident and have easier transportation.
🐺 Well I'll be. First time every seeing someone trying to light a lantern with a zippo lighter . I was holding my breath cause I just knew with the gas turn on the fumes was building up in the lantern and you holding the lighter where the flame couldn't reach the mantles as long as you did I just knew there was going to be a big boom . Then I thought well there's a easy way and a hard way to light a lantern and I reckon you decide to go with the hard way lol . 🇺🇲🦅
I bought a bag because I was out and didn’t have time to order any. I was blown away with the quality for 6$ it definitely is a lot better than many brands I’ve tried
Hope you got it cheap. I'm in Laos and these units are common here. They tend to vibrate and shake themselves apart. Then things break off, like the fuel petcock, carburetor parts, etc. They are a fire waiting to happen, so don't run it unattended.
I'm pretty confident I know what the OP did wrong with the lighting. There wasn't enough air pressure to force the fuel up through the generator. He comments as he is closing the pump to hold your thumb over the air hole, but I question based on his hand position if he was covering this hole while pumping. The camera microphone does pick up some hissing which is a sign of at least some pressure in the tank, but I really question if it was enough. If you ever have some question whether you have an issue (such as a bad pump), just unscrew the gas cap. If it releases quite a bit of pressure after pumping, the pump is fine. But if the pressure release is minimal you either have a bad pump or you pumped it incorrectly to begin with. Another point about the pumping. Even with the air hole covered, it should pump smoothly. If you got a lot of resistance, there is an issue. I will say this. I own two 295a lanterns and a single burner camp stove. Last year I replaced the pump on one of the lanterns (worked like a champ afterwards) and probably today I'm going to be replacing the pump on the camp stove due to a failure to light during a recent test. The online vendor I go through rarely has the replacement pumps in stock. So I do suspect these pumps are high failure items. Other than a gummed up lantern from using low quality gasoline instead of white gas, there really isn't anything else that can go wrong with them.
Not quite, the op did pump the gas correctly, his issue was the generator wasn’t hot enough to vaporize the gas being pushed up through it, because once lit, there were flames for the first few seconds, flames are an indication of flooding, in the past Coleman has recommended that if there are flames when first lighting to just dial the valve back to a 1/4 open, the few seconds of flames are enough to warm up the generator and the mantles will light up correctly. Whenever you’re having trouble lighting a lantern, a good tip is to first warm up the generator with a match, lighter or even a small torch, it usually works like a charm.
The first thing to tell anyone that buys a mantle lantern is the first burn looks like a runaway flash off fire, as the mantles cook off to become the web of ash. Lasts 30 seconds...don't try to put it out or you'll damage the new mantle. It us good you showed first fire with the roof and chimney glass off. That is correct. After that first burnaway never touch the mantles again. They are just powder and ash now.
Should grease the first pan like u did the 2nd, ...also, orig. Coleman ovens in box go for 50 and up...hard to get around Chyna...but old Coleman parts can get o.e.m.!
Yours is the only video I see with a coleman oven on an old coleman stove, which i think the oven was made for. I have the stove, now I know the relative dimensions of each and fit. Thanks!
I am considering picking one of these up if any gun stores can order one. It's the cheapest one around. I was interested in a Remington 191 r1 but cuz of life and having a child and a shitty job money has been tight but I'm waiting for my income tax and I'm pretty sure this is going to be my first day pickup once I get it. I love the grips! I was looking at checkered grips and a few extra magazines. how is the sights? I liked the Remington 1911 r1 cuz it had 3 dot combat sights but I'm pretty sure my local gun shop can put 3 dot combat sights on this? K see your last comment is from a few months ago and I hope you comment so we can talk a bit about it. For the price it's beautiful and I think it's time I get one
I've been buying my Peerless mantles through American Mantles not realizing they were Yttrium. How can I find Thorium mantles in the US? Thank you for the video.
New Coleman products are junk. By old vitae coleman. The quality is superior and old vitae coleman products were made in the good old USA. SHAME ON JARDEN CORPORATION FOR PRODUCING NEW COLEMAN JUNK.
I have a Winchester model 12, and 25 Just found a Remington Model 31 20G local for $350 I responded to the ad, just waiting to hear back lol watching videos in the mean time.
Your description stated dual fuel, but obviously that is a dual mantle Colman lantern. If you could actually come up with a dual fuel lantern / propane / kerosene I'd be happy to watch your review.
@@niceyblasters1093 can you do a vid showing ht switch between the two fuels I'd like to see that. It's been quite a few years since I last purchased lantern mantles but I vaguely remember that there was a difference between the two types dependant on the fuel. I'm probably remembering wrong, but..... I'd still like to see a video of you switching between them. I've used a single mantel propane unit about 10 years ago, it's probably been closer to 20 years since I used a dual mantle kerosene model.
I was researching and most factories make anywhere from 50,000 to 250,000 rounds per day. Think about that when you think about how many manufactures there are. Even high dollar shit like black hills makes 10,000 per day. There is no ammo shortage. It’s all intentional from these democrats. I honestly think the government is is hitting all the manufactures for everything they have claiming they need it.
