I am an artist based in Victoria, Australia. I paint predominantly in watercolor because I love the fluidity and the process of moving the water on top of the surface of the paper. Watercolor helps me to transform what I see into a work of Art in a few clean strokes. After working with watercolors for nearly 20 years, it still doesn’t fail to surprise me and these surprises encourage me to explore the medium even more. I have learnt the art of watercolor under some great teachers including Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet and Hermen Pekel. This channel is an attempt to share some of the techniques and cues about watercolor that I have learnt over the years from various teachers and artists. I notice that most watercolor painters dont tell you to elevate the back of your paper to cause the colors to ‘run’. If you elevated it only a quarter of an inch, that would be plenty.
It turned out really nice and fresh. I also have the " U Go " pochade box" ,only the smaller size. Its a great piece of kit that I also use as the studio palette on a tripod keeping my other hand free. I use it with the glass palette ( oils ) so its easy to scrape clean.
vielen Dank für diese sehr schöne Video .Mit dieser Leichtigkeit wie sie malen und erklären.Und ich weiss:es ist gar nicht leicht als Anfänger. Ich wünsche Ihnen alles Gute! LiMo
Thank you for sharing your great talent! I found your video in my initial search of "painting sunshine" and searching through your lists brought me here. There are only a few videos here on YT that address the actual light and atmospheric painting of it, and detail it perfectly. So beautiful also. I subscribed to your channel because you have so much important content and present it in an easy to understand way!
I have just discovered you. I am newish to watercolour painting and find your demo very helpful as I learn about this very difficult medium. Also nice to see our Australian landscape painted by a woman. Thank you Jana.
People don't know how difficult it is to paint watercolor on location until they've tried it for themselves. Bravo for sticking it out for a second attempt! :)
True. I tried out this painting once before recording. In that attempt the white dress came out well. But in the attempt where I recorded the video, the contrast was missing and had to make it look a bit more prominent.
