Just to remember, this was the pilot episode, so it's very likely they hadn't fully committed to Regina's backstory and motivations yet. In the classic Snow White story, the Evil Queen was indeed jealous of Snow White's beauty.

The loss of Hook’s hand felt too anticlimactic. There should have been more of a build up and I wish there had been more emphasis on Hook’s reaction. Instead he kind of just gasped like he got a bad paper cut.
Rumple was straight gangsta with his cane. I loved when people would challenge and taunt him to hurt them with magic but instead he showed him he could beat them just fine without it. Don’t mess with a cripple with a cane. He might have some strong cane welding skills.
I am rewatching Once Upon a Time and Rumple is by far the most pitiful of the villains. I felt for him the most and he deserved to get some vengeance on Milah for her abuse & abandonment. She was a terrible wife and mother.
Regina’s face the moment she realised her mother wasn’t after the throne and wasn’t hurt by her drinking the potion but was hurt because she saw her daughter hurting herself. She immediately regretted it
