I am a professional chef who ran a few restaurants throughout my career. Beaches look great but the sand fleas ARE EVERYWHERE. The bites sting and stay for a week. Everything, everywhere is quite expensive. And the poverty is prevalent. I went and so I don’t have to return. Real talk.
To bad all those places were closed while you were there. Maybe go back now that COVID is mostly over you will be able to see the things you missed. I lived there between 1974 and 2007. Magens is ok but was never my favorite. Your better off going to Brewers down by the college. Or Sapphire beach, Coki Pt, Lindbergh Bay.
I'm going to St. Thomas for the 1st time near the end of January, your video has me all excited now. Looks lovely...looking at Margaritaville, I don't want to drive. lol
You literally put the tongs from the Raw Fish, grabbed a piece of Raw Meat, and then put it back on the raw fish! DANGEROUS and Can actually harm someone. Cross Contact Shell Fish allergy situation and you could of literally put someone else's life at risk. You call yourself a Traveling Chef, SHAME ON YOU YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER

Yeah, Chinese people don't use their hands to eat sticky rice... or any of their food really. Sticky rice is rolled up in lotus leaves, not banana leaves. You'll see that in other South East Asian countries but not China/Hong Kong/Taiwan. The stamps are placed in different areas of the receipt marked by the 'size' of your plate. Small, medium, large, specialty, etc; There's a set price per size. Glad you enjoyed it, just use your chopsticks next time as it's considered rude to eat with your hands.
The proper way of eating soup dumplings is to put the dumpling in the soup spoon, bit the top off and then suck the soup out of the dumping...then eat the rest!

I live around this restaurant, and we go there every time for different occasions. My family speaks Cantonese to the waiters and the dim sum is perfect. I’ll give you some dish recommendations: 小龍包 (soup dumplings), and Pork Xiao Mai. I can’t recall everything I’ve eaten there, but definitely give those dishes a try.
Lol seaweed salad is some American ass shit, it’s literally the same shit everywhere you go because it’s mass produced frozen and colored bullshit. But you were so impressed 😂😂

Subscribed. We live here. Charlotte Amalia is more than “historic.” Red Hook is mostly light food with a few good good restaurants that change ownership every few years. It has a high end supermarket to buy supplies and go food called Mo’s. We usually eat Downtown, Frenchtown or Havensight for higher end food. You got what can be expected in this part of the world. Hot sauces suggest a need to improve the food served, right, Chef? That caramelized stuff is a typical sauce here. 8:20 “2 out of 3 is perfect” … lol … we call it “Country” for a reason.

The oxtail IS the filet! FULL of flavor and tender. The chef is telling you nothing but the truth. Shouldn't boast on it too much because next thing you know, the prices everywhere will go up just like flank steak did years ago.
If you are in STT do yourself a favor and jump on the ferry over to STJ. You're welcome. I've been to both numerous times. STT has some decent areas but overall, STJ is just nicer- quieter, better beaches, feels more like an island.
Overall would you rate it the best food hotel of puta Cana? I’ve sadly come across so many videos with bad rated food in puta Cana resort. As a long time foodie I can't imagine doing it to myself I will cry I need good food on holiday.
Found your videos while researching DR. Love your enthusiasm! Your videos are very entertaining. Question: I noticed you did not hesitate to eat the fresh fruits, cheese, deli meats and veggies. I'm getting mixed advice on whether it's safe to eat fruits you don't peel yourself, cheese (in fear of non pasteurization), deli meats (since they're uncooked, as with uncooked meats in general), and even sushi. I want to enjoy my food experience as much as you did! But could you tell me if you had any stomach issues with the types of food mentioned above? Thanks!
