Thank you very much for this amazing video! One question, if non-eu citizen studied in Romania (eu country) but only get diploma and not a medical license. can this non-eu citizen still get approbation in germany, or does this person need to get medical license in romania before approbation in germany?
Hi, I really enjoyed to watch your videos and these are very useful and very informative. I have passed my C1 medizin and I am asking your guidance for to seek a place in Saarland. Can you advise me some place to apply and or how to find a place? I will appreciate your advice and guidance.Thanks.
Bro I am not EU resident but now study in Serbia what's criteria for me to work in Germany as a doctor means i need to give a test for work in Germany after graduation from Serbia or not, only required language. please reply me.
don't do your residency here in Germany. The situation is getting worse day by day. Payment is getting less and run out. It's spreading like fire among residents. A lot of bureaucracy and you will NOT learn anything useful if you are a foreigner. Even German residents can't find time to do practical stuff. You will just be doing bureaucracy all the time.

Hi! Thank you for making this video, I found it really helpful. 😊 One quick question though, do you still need to take a test to prove your medical education is up to German standards if you come from an EU country?
I am studying medicine in belarus. 1)Can i do internship in Germany?. Or Is it better to do in Belarus? 2) How can we do internship during studying medicine?
Can I bring my spouse during my temporary license in Germany? Is it necessary to take licence of India also if I have licence of that country from where I have graduated?
quick question, i know the Berufserlaubnis is only valid in the state where it has been issued, but does the Approbation allow you to practice elsewhere in Germany, as in, across the country ? Ty in advance!
Hi its my first time to watch your video and of course i subscribed right away. Kudos for giving time and effort to us fellow doctors especially for deligently responding to many questions. Often times, doctors can manage to study tons of books but , its funny how we get confused understanding the pathways and process to practice abroad. 😅😅😅😂😂😂. tysm God bless!
Hello doctor. Hope you read this comment. I am currently taking first year Psychiatry Residency here in Philippines. If I plan to go to Germany someday after I finished my residency here, will I still take residency program in Psychiatry in Germany? or do you think my experience here in Philippines would be credited in Germany? Thank you
Search for Logbuch in Psychiatry. Maybe they will accept your residency, maybe not. Most important is to have enough practical experience( hours in different wards with proof, number of patients with proof...). For everything you will need proof with very detailed explanation. Just make sure you have everything covered from Logbuch. Most important is acute psychiatry.
Merhaba Tolga, currently i m a med student and i will be an EU qualified DR but my question is as a NON EU citizen how does the entire process work for me ? Unfortunately there is not that much detail available for my case so eğer bu konuda yardımcı olabilirsen çok mutlu olurum. BAŞARILAR!
Hey Dr. Tolga! This upload of you helped me a lot; but I have a question, will one get the PR in Germany after finishing their med residency program? Thanks a lot.
No, as far as I know, it has nothing to do with your residency. As soon as you have a blue card, it‘s only a few years into permanent residency 🙂 I don‘t know every single requirement for individual countries of course.
Sir i want to ask that if one have a supply in any subject/low marks in 5 years of MBBS in own country, will it affect the PG process in Germany? Will it affect Registration for Kentnisseprüfung?
Hey there. Thanks for your question. Well i can’t answer that with %100 certainty but I would guess not that deeply. It would effect it, if you’re going directly for “Anerkennung” without the examination but if you’re just in for “Kenntnisprüfung” it shouldn’t matter that much logically because you’ll be going through the examination to prove that your knowledge is in line with the German standards anyways.
I came from Ukraine and I've got my diploma in general medecine after studying 6 years. i still have not done my internship because of the war now i am in Germany and i got resident here for two years and I am studying German. what is the next step to do?how can I do the internship?
I also have similar situation like yours. I got my diploma from Ukraine this year and I am currently studying the German language and I have been applying for internships for the past 4 months and I keep getting turn down because their requirement is at least B2.
Great Content. Appreciate it.I have One question though. Is it required to have 2 years of experience before starting your residency or you can just start it right away?
Thanks for the feedback 🙏🏻. No as far as I know. Though it‘ll most likely make it easier for you to get an Approbation, if you decide to go with the „Gutachten“ Route.
thanks for the informative video! Quick question though, particular to my case, I am an EU citizen (Portugal) but am finishing my medical studies in Brazil. Immediately after graduating, how long do you estimate for one to be on his first day of residency in Germany?
I don’t know the exact rules for Brazil but what matters is where you studied at the end. If not in EU, you’ll need to go through the process. It depends heavily on the state you want to get into of course. I would guess, if you just want to start working with “Berufserlaubnis” which doesn’t count as residency, you can estimate at the best a few months to a year or so (I’m of course thinking you can already speak German) and for an “Approbation” depending on if you take the test or go for “Anerkennung” around a year to sometimes two. It’s really hard to guess, because it also depends heavily on how easy you can get a job permit etc. (You’re from EU, so I’m guessing it wouldn’t be that hard, but still). There are a million factors unfortunately 🙂.
I don‘t want to give false information but I‘ve never heard of one. I‘ve seen residents from a wide range of age groups 🙂 I would just ask for it when you go to the appointments for Approbation or just send an email for the unclear questions.
Erasmusla intern senesinde Almanya’ya geleceğim. İntern doktor döneminde herhangi bir ödeme yapılıyor mu? Euronun durumu malum belimizi büküyor. (İngilizce yazmaya enerjim yoktu özür dilerim)
I'm a 2nd-year med student in a non-EU country. I heard that it usually takes 1.5-2years to become a resident in Germany, but what exactly does this period of time represent? Is it the time it takes to study the required exams or is it the time it takes to submit your papers and get them accepted? Assuming I just started learning German and studying for the FSP and Kenntnisprüfung, how long would it take me to become a resident in Germany if I immediately took the FSP and kenntnisprufung after graduation? + THANK YOU so much for your videos
I will attempt to answer this because I am now in the process. But as he rightly said prepare your mind psychologically….. it will take a long while depending on how fast you are able to pass your B2
Hi! Thank you for this informative video. You said it would be a great help to do internships there while studying medicine and we could email them about it including international ones. Could you give me some clinics or universities which I could do internship in as much as you know. Only their website is enough too. Because from outside the Germany it’s very hard to find a department itself. Thank you so much.
