This is a fundamental problem with beginning pottery and it is insane this info isn't widely shared in more videos. Thank you so much for this vid. Now you've helped me forever with my pottery
Great instructional video! I’m a beginner potter and received a small wheel for Mothers Day. In a few days I’ll receive a large wheel and I’m so excited!! My first two clays i have are terracotta and white stone clay. I learned quite a bit from this video. Thank you 🙏🏻. I’ll be watching 👀. 😂. Happy throwing!!
This explanation was so much better than any of the ways folks have tried to reach me at the studio I go to. Everyone seems to go really fast, and jabs through immediately, but when I try that it makes an even messier edge and often ruins my entire piece. I'm excited to try this technique next time.
Oh my goodness, expertise makes the process look so easy but as a beginner, I know it is not easy. Having this video is so helpful to learn the process as my hands learn the correct techniques.
After you have burnished first leather hard and again when it's bone dry, do you put on Terra Sig and burnish again? Would you use the oil with terra sig like you do in the other stages? How many layers of terra sig and would you burnish in between each layer?
