Welcome to MiRide, here you can find Canadian transit videos covering transit primarily operating within the GTA region. All videos on the MiRide channel are pre-recorded, with plenty of archival footage awaiting to be found somewhere in my files! Content is uploaded every few days to maintain a fresh, consistent flow. Not affiliated with the MiWay (Mississauga Transit) transit agency, opinions are my own!
Thanks for supporting MiRide, remember to be aware of your surroundings, stay vigilant and safe while pursuing a hobby like this!
@@transitcitytoronto As I’ve said previously, I’m doing all active MiWay routes. Problem is that I haven’t gotten around to doing externals lately due to my job, but there’s a few that are waiting in the queue.
I wanted to take 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022 since I will be living in Mississauga. These were my favorite buses to take on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022. I will stop taking MiWay once the 2007 MiWay retires. I wanted to take 2007 MiWay on 3 BLOOR in September 2022 since I will be living in Mississauga.
I can assure you that 0112 is an ex-MiWay 2005 D40LF. It’s got the seat blockoffs (keep in mind MiWay’s the only agency to have these on their buses and it’s pretty ridiculous) and same interior scheme as any other MiWay had before 2008 (wood panelling, Model 6468 seats with brown vinyl and cream frame). I believe when the unit was handed over to the leasing company (not DRT) last year, it received some mechanical work, thus the lack of sound in the axles (I noticed this when I was filming despite the wind).
Uh oh You may have caught a dude who is trying to get on the train but he was way too late and he just missed it Every time I ride light rail, if I miss the train, my only solution is to wait for another one
Hate these busses. Rattle traps and terrible transmissions. I think Mississauga only bought them to try and save Orion. They usually ordered new flyer.
That's because the Freedom and Outlook are of a similar design! I do believe that the seating arrangements differ slightly amongst the Outlook and other Freedom units (i.e. Line 5, ION, ETS) in Canada though, but the seat design themselves are the same besides padding choice yes.
When the D40LFs were delivered to Mississauga it was in the 2000s and retired in the early 2020s after they have been around in the City of Mississauga for 20 years along with the Scarborough RT that opened back in March 1985. The 2005 MiWay were my favorite buses on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022 so I went on them when they were 14 and 17 years old. They all retired along with the Scarborough RT and the D40LFRs that were built in 2006. After the MiWay 03s & 05s retired trips to Erindale GO Station on 20 were removed to end at Square One in January 2024 and a month later MiWay route 34 got discontinued. I wanted to take 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022 and 2007 MiWay on 3 BLOOR in September 2022 because I will be living in Mississauga for college and work since I got really interested in that city in June 2019. I have been on 2005 MiWay units 0521, 0531, and 0545 which were all on the 3 BLOOR. The MiWay D40LFs have served at Islington Station for most of the years they were in service. Since June 2019, I found out that the 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR are much better than long-distance buses. I really how the engine sounds of the 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR. Rest in Peace 2005 MiWay (0501 - 0572) 2005 to 2023 18 years of service and 2006 MiWay (0601 - 0653) 2006 to 2023 17 years of service.
That's because I plan to share the ride clips on their own (I have a TON of archival footage from as early as 2022 I still have yet to uncover)! I had a plethora of photos, but didn't know how to share them outside of Flickr, this was the best way I could do it. The music would take away from the ride clips, I for one love the MiWay D40LFs for not only its design, but for its sound as well.
When it was the end of life span for the MiWay 05s and 06s, it was also the end of life span for Scarborough RT which is further east from Mississauga. Both MiWay 05s and 06s were retired around the time the TTC was closing down the Scarborough RT that opened back in March 1985. In June 2019, I found out Mississauga is a wonderful place to live so I wanted to take a 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022 and also a 2007 MiWay on 3 BLOOR in September 2022 since I will be living there in the future. I remembered when I took 2003 YORK REGION TRANSIT on 88 BATHURST from Seneca to Finch and GO TRANSIT 19 from Finch to Square One to take a 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 I also went to the Celebration Square to see lots of holiday stuff. This was also during the first WinterFest at Canada's Wonderland which was before covid. R.I.P MiWay 0501 - 0572 (2005 to 2023) 18 years of service in Mississauga / 0601 - 0653 (2006 to 2023) 17 years of service in Mississauga
After the 2005/2006 MiWay retired along with the Scarborough RT trips to Erindale GO Station on route 20 were removed to end at Square One in January 2024 and then a month later route 34 was discontinued.
I will never forget the 2005 MiWay since they were my favorite buses to take on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022. I know they retired around the time the TTC was closing down the Scarborough RT Line. MiWay D40LFs have been around in the City of Mississauga for 20 years while the Scarborough RT have been around in the eastern district of Scarborough for almost 40 years. The MiWay D40LFs have served at Islington Subway Station for most of the years they were in service until covid and they served at Kipling for a few more years before they were all taken out of service.
I remembered the Scarborough RT was my favorite to take back when I was in primary school. As of right now, it is decommissioned along with MiWay 05s and 06s. All of MiWay 05s, 06s, and the RT became a history of GTA.
