I was not able to get that to happen. Over a couple of playthroughs it would allow either one but not the other, even while still allowing romantic implications afterwards (shadowheart scene but karlach introduces you as her SO etc.).
I just realized, this implies the Dead Three knew that turning everyone into illithids would “destroy” their souls. At the end of the game, Withers scolds them for this, yet it seems it was their intention all along. But to what end … ?
If you notice none of the dead three cultists have tadpoles. Their plan was to destroy the souls of the other gods followers and weaken their power while increasing the dead threes power in return.
They deny them to ALL the other god, this is kind of foreshadowed with the Gnolls outside the cave. Yeenoghu can't claim their hunger as they're being literally hijacked by the absolute, the same is said of the goblins and is the whole reason for volos research into them, he mentions how they've abandoned their original god for some strange interloping deity
Gods in DnD if I'm not mistaken are powered by souls and the people who worship them. If the Absolute ends up killing everyone except the worshippers of the Dead Three, that would automatically make them the strongest gods, not because they themselves got stronger, but because all the other gods got a lot weaker. Thats what i got from it at least
If you accept an alliance with Gortash, he goes with you to confront the Netherbrain, but gets killed. The Emperor will rescue you and will also drag Gortash's corpse back with you to the Astral Plane so you can loot it since the game won't let you go back to the pool and he's got some good stuff on him.
Impressive that you kept Jahiera along for a dark urge playthrough. She's been one of my favorite companions but I couldn't get her to stay with me after siding with Kar'Niss 😔
Considering that the Ward eventually became Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate, I'd wager he doesn't just know about them, but has met them. He's the son of Duke Ravengard, after all; I bet he was around for no small number of meetings and whatnot.
Shadowheart: "Ik you got problems but i think you can do smth about it." Everyone else: "Man that aucks but i will MURDER YOU LIKE A STRAY DOG if you even GRAZE ME"
This event ONLY happens if you're on a Dark Urge playthrough. Otherwise, Alfira will never meet you in camp and instead, you will see her in Acts II and III if she is still alive by that point.
I did like both outcomes here yeah. Although I do kinda prefer the end where the Gith'yanki prince is alive and battling Vlakith while the player and Lae'zel stays on Faerûn and kill any of Vlakith's followers still there.
I'm sorry, how is this a difficult choice? You either get the bubbly, loveable, spicy cinnamon roll that is Karlach, or the person who's going only defining trait is Shar
Some of those pouts she makes are deeply redeeming though 🤣 In all seriousness I find the pair charmingly broken in their respective ways. Can't even pretend to argue against Karlach regardless.
shadowheart is more complex than being reduced to a character who’s “only defining character trait is shar.” the only reason she’s like that initially is because shar took her memories about selune and her parents and her entire past basically.
@@maddygallant5008 True, and unfortunately that's only seen at the end of Act 2 I to Act 3. Larian just made Karlach more personable from the beginning. Shadowheart isn't the only victim of that either.
Hmm, on that playthrough I'm fairly sure I went with the most neutral of choices and went to bed alone. I was already past the 3 leaders part before adding Karlach to the group.
It's essentially an intentionally activated glitch that you have to do during act 2 by making a progression to act 3 without ever acknowledging the "breakup" conversation. I'll show it if I still have the save, it took some experimenting to find the right sequences to bypass the check. They patched the old glitch but where there's a will there's Shadowlach relationship!
@@fadesway9923you just need to wait until right before you meet the night song to give the last piece of iron to Dammon, lock in the relationship with Karlach that night and when Shadowheart wants to talk about it, dont acknowledge it or talk to her until after the night song is taken care of
Hey, this was from a while back and I've heard the glitch was patched to some extent so it's at least harder to do intentionally now, although it can still work.
