I absolutely L O V E! this all electric Chevy Blazer EV esp that dark grayish & blacked out (no damn chrome). I got tired of waiting, so I got a BMW iX xDrive50 EV that I also love but that costs much more. I charge my EV at home using my Amazon purchased charge connector after paying an electric co. to install on my house outer wall that's covered as a car port, 240v outlet. All wiring inside a pipe protection layed outside at ground level connecting to my utility meter. I didn't want the any! wiring through my house walls. Since I already had TESLA solar panels and three TESLA powerwalls outside, I charge my EV anytime I want typically during sunny days for F R E E. If necessary, I can charge up my EV on the electric grid, bu it's typically not required as I can charge enthe evening or at night that would use my batteries. The best time is during daylight to use the sun for free energy.
They have money to buy new cars but no money to fix the roads and houses in Detroit all of our taxes go towards those big trucks and not towards fixing the roads and houses wow that's just great 😒
Would make a great security vehicle since we don’t travel 100 of miles when conducting our tour hits and just checking properties or respond to a call for service .
In my world we never see the police, they are on call only. The days of actual patrol is long gone. No need for milage gas pigs at all in the real world of Policing.
Wonder how long it will take the cops to figure out that thing will eat tires faster than they can polish off a box of doughnuts ! Calculate THAT maintenance bill boys !
I'm seeing them more and more in utility fleets and other small businesses. Yes Over the life of the vehicle they will be much cheaper for fleet owners.
That infotainment screen looks terrible with the cheap plastic bezels. The ICE silverado has a really nice screen and layout, why not just use that one?
I got one! I love when I’m behind someone and they move over or get to the 4- way stop and become extra courteous , giving me the right of way. I wish I had flashing lights’ 😂
LOL after 5 min of chasing an ICE car on the freeway yells at the ICE car driver "Can you pull over i need to charge the EV it's almost flat".🤣😂 Yea sure say's the ICE car driver. ps can we make all the police cars EV's please.
Yes this EV police car will check you really fast but will only be able to chase a bad guy one or twice the then the shift will be over. The officer will have to go back to the police station to charge.
Its gonna be a shit show either no matter what. EV is a scam and has no place in fleet use. Police vehicles ahould be v6/v8 or hybrids end of discussion. Best of both worlds.
Little do does the PD know this is the one of the worst EVs ever produced. All EVs are utter garbage... You have to be very naive or dumb to believe todays EVs are the future in any way. All are best thrown in the shredder for recycling for the modern day American gas V8....
With the stop-sale of GM Ultium vehicles, They went with wrong brand. They need a Cybertruck as a starting point. Already bullet proof to handgun fire, and they could knock anything off the road they needed to.
Not practical. Will not hold up to law enforcement work. Good for PR looks. Overall, Departments look at two primary factors, when considering patrol vehicles: Cost and maintenance cost (availability of service parts). This thing isn’t cheap, maintenance is expensive, and there are no long term testing evaluations for reliability. Again, patrol vehicles run 8-16hrs a day, some cases 7 days a week, because the vehicles are shared (large departments). My 2 cents.
Probably a good use case, as EVs are good for vehicles that need to "idle" a lot, EVs are extremely heavy which is good for pit maneuvers, EVs can have great acceleration which is great for pursuits, and EVs can offer a lot of interior room with a flat floor, good for making room for the cage and what not separating the rear seat area the bad boys go in. The only downside is that these are likely to be completely trashed after 8 years because when the battery is dead the battery replacement will cost more than a new vehicle, effectively totaling it. So you won't get some of the cost recouped by selling them private party.
It would seem this may require perhaps a larger fleet to accommodate, or rather minimize, downtime for officers waiting around for their vehicles to recharge, to eliminate "off-the-road" downtime!
So you responded that this EV will go 320 miles even with running lights. In my last shift I drove 612 miles on patrol answering calls. With no time to stop for a lunch in a 12 hour shift. I don’t see this working for a county Sheriff. Maybe on the average day, but we have to prepare for the worst day.
I promise I’m not retarded. But what the fuck is PPV stand for? I think it stands for police patrol vehicle. But then again, I could be wrong that happens a lot.🤣. So somebody give me some clarity.
Leave it to GM, using a female officer in 90% of the video. Women should not be patrol officers. The facts are, that female officers esculate physical situations to using deadly force many times over than male officers because female officers are not able to physically handle male criminals the vast majority of times. And even when a female is jacked up on steroids, it doesn't guarentee success.
