Thanks mate ive the torgue sensor on the m21pro but the buggers put wrong controller in There no connection on the controller side for the torgue sensor cable to to connect too ive been using a cadence type like this all the time as i taut the torgue sensor was just a mimick until id your problem and now im a month out of wRranty cheeky buggers gonna cost me 120 euro now just t to have torgue sensor unless anyone knows a way i can do it thru my pas wires or any other ,fuming over it as i had a try with the mates bike and wow mate its a dream to cycle and mines a younger version than his anyone any ideas or shouold i just pay ??
Aluminium! Why oh why for the sake of a small extra bita wieght look at the safety of a steel frame ! Its the reason i went for the m21 pro towards any other ive compared them to friends and family who havew different fiidos and i gotta say the m21 welding is levels above alot of fiido models ive got it a year now had it tuned to as solid as can be within a mth had it in every condition mountain fields bad roads beeches and its as solid as always i do keep it in check tho and keep it looked after excellent bike from fiido ,but thats no excuse correct me if im wrong but were some of them snaps above the welds 🤔
I got them direct from Tannus. Sometimes they show items as out of stock, but you can sort of preorder. Or just message them for your size. They are a helpful lot and get back to you quickly. Even when out of stock, they were despatched in a few days. Good luck.
@@EnglishEbiker Well I emailed them twice via their websote and they do not respond. What size do i need, can you send me a link to what you actually bought? Thanks
Thank you for posting the video. This explains exactly my problem. I'll tackle it as soon as I get a crank puller. Hopefully mine has dirt or metal filings or something as well.
I removed everything, electrically checked all cables (seem fine), There was a little dirt, but not enough (in my opinion) to cause a problems with magnetic pickup/sensing. I suspect it has/had something to do with the collar part of the sensor not spinning. That is, the crank is spinning (me peddling) and the collar was slipping and NOT spinning with the crank shaft. It's relying on a friction fit to work. It put a bit of glue where the spinning part off of the sensor friction fits over the crank shaft. Seems to work. No issues after 200km.
@@JKowala thanks alot for the reply i took of my crankshaft and looked for some dirt but there didnt seem to be a problem idk it maybe the collar not spinning ill check tomorow
shit I just bought one! Why are they still for sale if there's a recall. I just bought this shit on their website today for a Christmas gift to my sister!
Be careful don't bought these bike, this is not a suitable winter bike. There is a weak spot under the battery for water to enter easily. I have the same bike and it actually broke down. I hope the manufacturer will look into this issue. If they put a little silicone in the holes, the problem will be solved. It is a catastrophic weakness.
So, I am looking hard at the T1 pro but I don't like the $650 use battery replacement cost. They come with just a one year warranty. That makes me nervous. How are your batteries holding up? Are you happy with the overall build quality of the Fiido T1? Would you buy them again? Do you recommend?
My Fiido L3 has the same sensor and becoming dangerous due to this problem, I am thinking of making some kind of gasket between the crank arm and the sensor; I am using a rubber O ring from the garden center at the moment.
Cheers Lee. Good to meet a fellow T1er. Didn't quite go to plan...slow puncture in Seaburn, so put a new tube in and thought I'd better turn around as no more spares. Got to Shotton and bang, that tube popped, so put the original one back in which lasted about quarter of a mile, then pushed the last couple of miles in the sunshine. Knackered. Still smiling though.
@@EnglishEbiker Ha I guess them Talas tyre inserts didn't work. We got to Hurburn reservoir and back no incidents. T1s are a heavy bike's especially when your pushing them ha.
@leewatson9447 I'd bought tubes that were too small, so they were over stretched. Pop! More tubes ordered and I'll try again next week. Live and learn.
I stripped it down and took the frame and wheels etc to a powder coating place. They took the paint off and resprayed it. I put it back together. Love it. Green was nice, but bit ordinary.
i just installed my knew controller the type with the thick black cable. the one that plugs into the motor cable but the controller doesn't work the way i excepted it to not in the same way the original controller did. the old controller that was water damaged regulated the same speed up hill as on the flat no matter what. the new controller when on assist one and two on the slightest of gradients comes to a slow crawl where OAP's with Zimmer walkers over take me. when pedalling on assist one and two on the old controller it just maintained a regular speed in all the assist modes. if i use the throttle all if fine and there is lots of power for up hills. its just when pedalling on assist one and two the motor isn't being sent the extra power it needs for up hill. even on mole hills lol. any form of a gradient and its a dead crawl almost to a point of stopping but on the flats its all good. you cant connect one of the controller plugs into the wrong place can you? is that something i have done by mistake? any suggestions welcome.
I’m looking to get one of these bikes are they legal not that it will stop me from getting one just wondered 👍I’m 57 I live out in country I can’t see our local Bobby doing anything 😂
@@nostalgicplastic4323 What happened? Ive got a similar pedal system on my ebike, i gave it a clean without dismantling it (brushed and stuff) and it started working again but jerks if i dont apply enough force
@@Holywinter792 You will have to disassemble and clean the magnet, put some silicone grease in there before you close it up. Go to a plumbing store and ask for silicone grease, it has good waterproofing property.
By the way, I have just had the same disaster strike on both the new and the old bike - the rear wheel nuts came lose and pulled the wire out going to the controller. So the bike has a problem with keeping back wheel nuts tight - please check frequently folks!! With the new bike there was thankfully a 9 pin connector which came undone - easily fixed. But in the old bike it reefed the entire cable out of the control box.
I ordered my T1 last December as the 'Lite'. This was just after the recall. Every video I saw until then, there was only the T1. I wondered if the change then was the bikes they made moving forward, and to send out as replacements. I haven't checked the website, but I don't think the Lite will be sold once their stock is sold (of the 'repaired' or reworked original frame). When I put my bike together it got electric (display came on, as well as lights) but nothing happened with the throttle. It was essentially a peddle bike. As anyone who's been a customer of Fiido, After-sales department is great at responding (customer service otherwise is not in their 'playbook'). I was sent out a new controller and what they called a 'refer', or some other name I can't readily think of at the moment. Which was the throttle/shifter and cables. I'm very grateful to @tornadogarden, without his contribution I would have felt helpless and hopeless. I first replaced the Controller. No power to the motor, sadly. After replacing the throttle/shifter piece, that was the fix. I was finally on the road. I love the bike, I wish the manufacturing was better. Thank you to everyone that posts and/or comments on these bikes, for obvious reasons, you are very helpful to this collective group that share the same love of the bike, and frustration with the associated pains!! I 'unlocked' my display/bike, and it does run with more speed. But not the 30 mph or so these bikes are proported to previously. In watching this video, I'm wondering if that Controller (I took out) is the key. In writing this, I don't think I would put it back if so, I wouldn't choose anything less 'smooth' to have the speed. That's just me. I do still have the other Controller ... 😊
@@feelthepeace In answer to your question - yes, the replacement controller was the factor to enable the higher speed. That is how I enabled the higher speed after I got the new replacement bike. The other controller will serve as a spare in case you ever need it but it is locked to 23kph(15mph). But you still have the power to climb hills etc. I suspect that speed lock is done by a chip that is programmed inside the controller(software) but I have never opened it to inspect it. The long-term solution if you wanted higher speed and full programabilty is to install a GRIN controller from Canada with it's accompanying display. But that's a bit costly(€400)
I have just done mine also without wiring incompatibility problems. Also, if in future I want to order a new controller, will Fiido supply me with the fast controller? I doubt it. Si I have a third party unit lined up.
@@vfr1vfr2 errr...I simply want the new bike to have the same performance as the one I bought. It currently does about half the speed. Not sure why you think I should look for a different bike. I did not ask Fiido about the warranty, no. I'm sure if and when they reply to me, they'll let me know if I am being naughty.
this is the reply from FIIDO Dear Customer, Thanks for contacting us and sorry for keeping you waiting. The frames of the T1s sold now are newly upgraded and reinforced frames. T1Pro has made some upgrades from the T1. Compared to T1, T1 pro is different below. 1. The Seatpost is lowered to better fit users of different heights. 2. A full set of hydraulic disc brakes are installed, a significant upgrade from the mechanical disc brakes. Also, the brake pads were strengthened to increase their life spans. 3. Better riding experience from improved pedal assist and throttle modes, which smoothens the acceleration and lowers the sense of jerkiness.
Correct me if I am wrong, but can we have a 250 or 350 watt motor paired with a 52 volt battery & controller & provide for a market share of long-range riders?
As anyone tried welding a gust on the old frame? I will be having a go at this this some 6mm ali' plate and some tube welded to the front like the Fiido did with the early frame fix. It's a shame to bin the old frame if it can be sorted. I know it has cables inside the down tube by the way.
Just got my replacement bike and it runs different to the old one! derestricted I can get 28mph on the new better display. Pedal power is restricted to 14mph but this dials up on hills to keep you going strong. The power "feed in" is now softer and feels more grown up. The T1 is real fun to ride and I feel safer. Question to ask is has anyone welded the ali frame on the old bike to stop them snapping?
i emailed Fiido about the t1's advertised on the website "being the old frame" and put the question to them "what had happened to the new frame or the t1 PRO" asked if it was old stock being sold off ,so far ive had no reply , but when i asked on a separate email about the new TITAN i actually got a reply ,no specs on bike as asked but the did reply
Hi mate. How'd you remove the speed restriction on the new t1? With the original one it was easy. The same operation on this one doesn't work. Thanks a lot for posting your story. Love the paint jobs btw.
ive noticed the new frame is classed as the t1 pro, and that the old style t1 is still being sold by fiido on the website ,so i am confused as to purchasing one .but have noticed also the amount of the old style coming up for sale privately , and how that would affect you if frame snapped "would you be able to claim from Fiido ?" i doubt it .
I don't know what they're up to. Seems dodgy if they're selling the dangerous frames, and if they're confident, why did they give away all these new bikes. As you have to give them the frame numbers to claim the replacement, if that bike is sold on, then snaps, they're going to say its not down to them. Well, at least we did the right thing and put them in the recycling.
Compared to Rad bikes behaviour on their recent Radwagon 4 defective tire recall shambles, Fiido have been great. RW were just ignoring requests for refunds. You literally had to launch disputes through the card you used for payment. That is not to say I excuse the delay in announcing the fault by Fiido though.
if you go onto Fiido's website ,they are still selling the T1 and the upgraded version as the T1 pro for £200 more , if the ,so if the original T1 is a possible hazard "why are they still being sold"?
The website is different depending on where you are. I looked and there isn't the pro on there. If I change language, I'm still offered only one version, but it shows the new frame. No idea what would arrive if ordered.
Hello all, i got mine. It's a 750w. It's unlocked and i can go to 40km/h. However it's only using throttle. When using pedals, it goes down do 25km/h even if I keep the throttle down.... Annoying...
@@EnglishEbiker so, i tried, same thing. With pedal I can not go more than 23km/h. By changing the controller ? Or by updating the software if we could like for bafang motor.
@@NicolasBruneau sorry, I don't know about the software, not a thing I've heard anyone doing. You could try asking fiido first, before changing the controller incase there's a secret method? Good luck, let us know.
I order one yesterday expecting to receved this one as advertised and I have been told by Fiido they are only sending out the old one with all its faults and no modification. This one only does 25 miles, and no speed control and does not have hydraulic brakes. It also has a week frame that brakes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Oot93yyMalU.html. I have been ripped off. Do not buy.
Hi Arnold. Rather confusing as some have said their motors are marked as 250w, yet when asked, Fiido said they were actually 750w but wrongly marked. I don't know of any in the UK yet, and we haven't had ours to see if they're 250, 750 or who knows here. I'm not too concerned as if it is a 250, I'll just swap it for the original one.
I was contacted by Fiido by email and told not to ride my bike due to a safety issue. They asked for a photo of my frame number which i sent. The next day another email telling me i was getting a replacement frame and to not ride my bike. 4 days later the new frame showed up and after assembling it i transferred my battery to the new frame. Upgraded brakes and a newer controller were included as were some other improvements. I am happy with my experience with this company.
Thanks for the video, would have had no idea my bike was unsafe if I hadn't caught this. To be fair Fiido had emailed my wife about it. But she didnt see the email. Am told my replacements in its way.
The Tannus liners are well worth the investment. We live in "puncture-weed capitol" and soon realized my gen1-T1 needed Tannus. My Gen2-T1 will have them shortly. Don't ride home without them, walk.
