Professional Wrestling is everywhere and all wrestling is good wrestling. Come with us this as we look The entertaining side of the art form known as sports entertainment. Welcome to Suplex.
You cant say that nobody in AEW is S-tier and then get upset that Cornette mentions a WWE guy over an AEW guy, this is a ranking list. What were you in OVW? A vendor? Janitor? Because you are coming as extremely bitter in this video.
I named two people in S tier I have no issue with either Cody or Roman, they are on another level of popularity, no my favorite in-ring but you can't deny their spots. As for what I did I was the TV director and leaving was my choice. No heat with Jim from me, I just think his ideas of wrestling are outdated. It's also fun that you think there was a janitor on staff, it was just the boys picking up after shows.
@Suplex_Media i think wrestling at its core shouldn't change. The stories are always going to remain the same and fundamentals should always remain the same, as well, at its core. That's why I understand why he calls alot of it video Game wrestling because I would do all of the shit they are doing now back in 99 on the N64. A million finisher kick outs, tons of off the top rope moves...and maybe that's why alot of current fans appreciate it because they would do the same in all the games growing uo.
I like how you get mad that Jim doesn't get to the point but you do the same thing every 5 minutes, tried to give you a chance despite the hate from others but I can't take it anymore.
I'm at 2 minutes and I'm having a hard time listening due to very bad audio quality. Which is a shame because I really like Cornette's content but I'd like to have outside opinion about him too to balance things out. I'll try to watch a bit more but 2 hours with this audio quality is really not doable for me.
Thank you, we finally got a real face to represent every idiot who supports modern wrestling. The Bucks, Meltzer, Hannibal, and now you all the mountain Rushmore of wrestling morons.
@@Suplex_Media crazy that his channel gets more views, then everyone else in this field I think its all that experience of working in the industry for so many decades, that you dismiss. And why people want to hear from him. yea, the only people I like larping are the spoiled children of billionaires who fail at soccer, football, and now wrestling. But here is to one day failing a basketball team too.
Babe it's wild you don't understand that's how the world views wrestling fans as a whole. Too small of a community for you to be upset about conflicting views. weird behavior
If You're going to have a successful channel, You CANNOT JUST be stuck in today's SPORT'S ENTERTAINMENT! I give You that Corny is stuck in the 80's, BUT HE HAS EARNED THAT! And He has knowledge from the 1920's-TODAY! You need to learn how to take criticism as well Brother, do some research, & GET THAT KNOWLEDGE, & You will ABSOLUTELY have more subs!
BRO, You SERIOUSLY need to learn how to edit, because Your levels are ALL OVER THE PLACE! And this isn't a mean comment, it's constructive criticism from someone who CO-FOUNDED a NOW successful Pro Wrestling RU-vid channel 4 YEARS ago! I subbed to Your channel, it's NOT easy, but I'm trying to help!
@@Suplex_Media Nah, if you actually were, you wouldn’t be trying to eat your mic and your videos wouldn’t be struggling to reach a 100 without mentioning Jim Cornette
"I can't really understand what brian last is saying here" (when he was literally just reading their list) *proceeds to see if he can mutter the whole list in one breath* *complains about a joke about people on the list being nobodies* *makes a joke about the makers of the list being nobodies* Like... I can't make this up... Also, Jim deliberately references old things to confuse people. But just the sheer amount of things you complained about in this video just to IMMEDIATELY do makes this seem like a 2 hour parody. Of which I managed an hour of. With notes, though. 20:00 He's disagreeing with the rules, because of this example that he feels shows the rules to be a bad way of judging things. Not failing to understand or pretending to. That's extremely clear. He can disagree with the rules. YOU disagreed with the rules. 24:00 Jim, from what I understand, has hated WWE for the last 3 years other than basically Roman Reigns and Gunther, then Cody. However at this point WWE's presence and shift in quality is undeniable, and he's finally coming around to WWE. It's not a love of WWE, it's a disdain for basically everything, to which some of WWE is starting to get an exception. He also has exception wrestlers in AEW. He, from what I can tell, chooses not to watch any other weekly shows. I wouldnt want to watch anything other than WWE and AEW, because I'm already watching WWE and recently got caught up with AEW from All In onwards, and thats a LOT of wrestling every week 6 Weekly shows. I would NOT watch more. More would make me burnt out quick. And I actually enjoy most of WWE. He seems not to enjoy more than 1 or 2 segments of WWE and 1 or 2 of AEW each week. Not enjoying most of it would exacerbate burnout. Point being, he watches what's most relevant in the language he speaks (and the language the list is in, btw). But WWE is by far the biggest promotion in the world, and by a slim margin AEW seems to be second. It's fairly reasonable to say when Sales and impact are being considered that wrestlers from those two have an advantage... 31:25 Yes, yes he has.. In fact, he's talked extensively about his love for japanese wrestling, and the efforts he would go to to get japanese tapes. His disdain is for a lot of the modern parts of wrestling, not for japanese wrestling. I'd say WWE's longtime habit of just hiring all the best of everyone they could get their hands on is relevant to mention, though. 32:00 fucking YIKES. Just yikes. 35:15 You SURE he can say that? Cause every other time he's expressed his opinion, you've gotten a bug up your ass about it. 35:45 OR he's debating the value of being able to get over versus wrestling skill in the most relevant entry to that? None of the guys he reacted poorly to were over, and the guys he reacted positively to are pretty damn good wrestlers. He clearly demonstrates quite a bit that he considers getting over fairly important, but has to question if it excuses a lack of wrestling skill. 40:10 He never said that you, or anyone shouldn't be able to do that. He said it's not good in his opinion. YOU said that he said that. The right to make a piece of art is NOT the right for that piece of art to be appreciated. He can not appreciate all the fucking art he wants to and it has no bearing on his opinion on its right to be made. And this is a list of appreciation of art. 43:30 and a PERFECT example of the Jey Uso thing. the opposite example. Someone who's a great worker who isn't so over. He questioned BOTH states of this. 44:10 Money made is pretty directly coorelated to popularity, which is directly related to appeal. But also, he's talking about popularity and you're extrapolating that into him talking about money anyways. How much people like a thing is relevant to a list of best things... 46:30 Well given that lots of the wrestlers higher up on the list don't meet their tastes, why would they HAVE to assume that anyone they don't know is one that DOES. Why do you think they have to speak accurately about everyone that ever comes up in conversation? Noone has limitless knowledge, and trying to obtain that is a fool's errand. 50:00 And he sighed at two WWE wrestlers, giving the same reaction you screamed about him giving to AEW wrestlers. Silence. 51:50 Look, I would be happier if logan paul never appeared on my screen again, but he was some level of over as a heel and demonstrated a frustratingly high amount of wrestling ability for what a piece of shit he is. But sure, send Jim to jail (???) for just not saying anything. 53:45 Once again chastising for not knowing about every fucking bit of the wrestling space, WHEN HE SHOWED INTEREST IN IT. Jesus christ this is insufferable. 56:10 WHAT? 57:20 No, YOU established that. He asked where Rhea Ripley was, and never got the answer to why she wasn't there. Shockingly enough, he can't hear you. 58:45 He watches WWE and AEW... That's not a secret. Why you constantly chastise him for choosing a few things to watch and not watching everything is beyond me, but it's the gatekeepiest shit I've heard in the last 3 months. 1:03:40 Oh yeah, if you don't know BLUE KANE you don't watch wrestling. I only watch 13 hours weekly, but I guess that's not watching wrestling. 1:05 10 LMAO, So I guess his questions about Rhea Ripley you screamed about weren't answered by him OR by you. Atleast not correctly. So yeah, this list just doesn't include Rhea Ripley at all, despite including female wrestlers. As far as I'm concerned that's a reason to write the whole list off. 1:06:10 Yeah, shut up is about what I'm thinking too. One hour of this was enough.
You wrote a lot so I'll just pick one thing here. Yeah I'll chastise Jim for not knowing people, the reason being he talks about performers he doesn't know and scoffs at them. His lack of knowledge is not on them, so why does he treat people like it's their fault? Jim doesn't need to have an opinion about people he doesn't know about, he can just sit it out. Seems simple enough, no?
You don't think there are 500 quality wrestlers in the world? Babe there are 200+ in both WWE and AEW. We haven't even counted Mexico, Japan, or the entire continent of Europe. It was a silly thing to say from him.
This wasn't for me but thank you for putting content out there. Its very hard to create and so easy to criticise. If i could offer feedback for why i didn't like this. - let the subject finish their thought before commenting on it. You were talking over Cornettes thoughts quite a lot. - You nit picked a lot of throw away comments having the benefit of the ability to stop and google. - this probably would have worked better as a clipped version than a whole 2 hours verbatim. - you seemed insanely bias i imagine this was to cater. But in fairness i couldn't do any better. Please Keep creating
Thanks for the feedback, just want to address your last point. My only real bias here is against Jim's disingenuous style. My thoughts on wrestling don't change via promotion unlike I saw from Jim in this video.
@@Suplex_Media just like you and other AEW marks saying they are better than WWE…a choice. You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about when it comes to wrestling. Maybe next time say Cornette once made me cry that’s why I cry about him. You clown
My name is Michael, I was the television director for OVW for the better part of my 20s. I do not receive any money from Dave Meltzer, nor have I ever talked to the man. No issue with them bringing him up, it's just fun to count the amount of times. Great questions.
Agreed some mark that’s lucky to get 200 views….yet wants to bash the best wrestling podcast. I want to hear or see some legit proof he worked for OVW under Jim.
Jim likes what he likes and he doesnt beat around the bush when it comes to his opinion on wrestling, its something he took very seriously since he was a teenager when he first started working within it.. i dont agree with everything he says and on some things he can be ridiculously stubborn on, but he is a great wrestling mind and his knowledge of wrestling is off the charts
His knowledge of wrestling during his time is off the charts for sure. Feels like the wrestling world passed him by. Which was my complaint when I was directing OVW. We weren't doing anything new just rehashed stuff from the territory days. Wrestling like any other art form has to innovation.
@@Suplex_MediaI agree to a point but at the same time simple storytelling like from the past what Jim and other old school guys champion still holds up very well. The bloodline story, the McIntyre & CM Punk storyline, CM punk Vs MJF storyline. All simple straight forward storylines are 3 of the biggest wrestling angles in the past couple of years. Ofc things in terms of production and the way things are paced in this era have had to change which is something I do agree with and something Jim is too stubborn about changing
@@Suplex_Media With the “new” stuff predominating, Cornette's old-school approach stood out from the pack. Nonconformity becomes conformity when everyone joins in.
@@CharizardMaster69 he’s desperate for more views, clicks, comments, shares, & likes so he can his trash into someone else’s algorithm. Sad YT channel with terrible takes. If he would have just said from the jump “I don’t like Jim Cornette or anything he says” then fine; have fun with the trampoline wrestling fans or Russo’s fans who are few and far between. He probably gets his “sources” from Disco Inferno.
Yeah, that's my bad. I'll have it worked out for the next one. This is why I had an audio engineer when I was directing OVW. That stuff is hard, shout out Rob the sound guy, saved my ass for years.
Before dissing out and trying discrediting Jim, fix your microphone, because sounds like ass whatever take you're trying to share. You're mic makes it sound even more awful, and you dare call Jim out of touch when his audio is the only good thing produced in this video?
@@Suplex_Media yes Jim Cornett is not always right sure he learned wrestling in the early 80s but 90% of the time he's right and that's what makes people like u hate him it more about disliking Cornett being right
@@jamesthompson3023 I’m not upset because he’s right, I just think he stands for the stagnation of wrestling. Wrestling has always progressed through the years. He’s just the guy who says wrestling needs to stop changing. His type has existed since the start.
I like all wrestling, what's wrong with that? It is weird you made this about AEW when it's about Jim Cornette, that might say something about you. Weird comment.
@@Suplex_Media Liking all wrestling despite poor quality isn't a good thing. I like movies - I'm not going to spend time watching garbage. I like music, I'm not listening to top 40 radio garbage. Wrestling is no different. It's a product and I don't owe my time and money to companies that can't book.
@@Suplex_Media so then why are you accusing this guy of making it about aew while at the same time complaining Jim didn’t make it about aew. Seem kind of like a hypocrite here
2:15 you find it shocking an old billionaire pays his way into sex with younger women? She was willingly accepting very expensive gift after gift, fully compliant with what was for trade. Get ur head out urazz
