Phenomenal presentation. You are my gateway PTCG content creator since I started playing the game. I just want to say that you are doing a wonderful job and I hope to catch you at a stream this Sunday. I haven't been able to catch you the last couple of Sundays for some reason. Must be because I'm in the U.S. Keep up the good work. Love your streams.
Thanks for the support on RU-vid and Twitch! No need to apologize. I’m forever grateful for any time you’ve spent or will spend supporting my content. I’ll see you when I see you 🫡 take care!
Next rotation will be the first with entire decks with only gray boarders… unless the card is a reprint or errata. I am curious if anyone will take advantage of this. Just as an example I do a deck search and the yellow boarders would be for sure trainer or energy cards. Therefore theoretically someone can prize map/ deck search faster just by looking at the color of the boarder 🫣
No yugioh has forbidden/limited lists. Older cards are generally power crept and newer strategies accel. Pros and definitely allot of cons to this type of approach. Pokemon rotation seems it can be just as angering when they rotate out some of the key cards in certain decks but again both Pros and cons to it.
They need to ban Tera Charizard ex! I'm beyond sick and tired of facing that disgustingly broken trash! 180 damage is already a lot of damage for only 2 measly Energy and then it can self charge and charge 1 more Fire Energy onto whatever they desire because it searches your deck for 3! It really did not need the extra 30 damage for each prize card the opponent has taken! That's ridiculous! I've made many Grass decks to try to counter that broken trash, only to end up losing to it again and the number of players running it on PTCGV are high! Thankfully, Arcanine ex/Charizard is still more popular, but geez! I'm sick of it! Lots of players feel the need to run it because it's a free deck that was built for them and they are too lazy to build their own decks! I'm sure many players have lots of credits. They can exchange them for other cards! This means that I have to suffer facing Tera Charizard ex for another year and a half! They need to pull the trigger! Even an eradication would be good! 180 damage and no Ability! It doesn't need to deal more than 180 damage for only 2 energy. That's overkill! That card makes me want to vomit with rage! Once the next set comes out, I'm building Galvantula ex/Magneton to item lock those clowns frequently! Flark Tera Charizard ex! I was hoping it would be rotated and banned in Expanded because it doesn't belong in the TCG! To all those who suck so bad at this game that your have to run that absolutely disgusting broken trash! 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻
Theres a bunch of supporter cards with different titles, but have the same effect, (ie: draw 3 cards" Nemona, Barry, Cheren, Hau, etc) Both old and new. Are we allowed to proxy them using older versions even if their title is different? (If we follow the 4copies max rule in good faith) In casual setting im sure why not, but tournies probably not right?
I used to play back when PTCGO was a thing (I am old) but I never really understood the formats, unlimited, standard, etc. I never understood why I couldn't play certain cards in certain formats. So I generally just played the theme decks. Last year when I started to play more seriously and also IRL, I now finally understand. But it is pretty dumb it's not generally explained. So thank you for this video on behalf of all new players!
@@InThirdPerson I have 2 nrg retrivals from 1999 (base set I belive) text "trade 1 of the other cards in your hand for up to 2 Basic energy cards from your discard pile." And you can normally Play it like the current one but you have to apply all the new things and text
Actually Pokemon Catcher has received errata. So despite the text change, the card is still standard legal. All cards that have received errata are legal if they’ve been reprinted and would be played with the updated effects. An example of a reprint where they did not specify an errata for was Recycle Energy. So the only legal copies of that card (at least rn in Expanded) are the Unified Minds print and not Neo Genesis (look at the trivia section of the Bulbapedia article for that energy)
Which of the other ex Battle decks do you think would have a balanced match up against Chien-Pao if you don't care about competitive, only casual play with a friends and family?
None of them have a particular advantage over the other. Even Chien-Pao. The Chien-Pao deck is the best to purchase if you want it for foundational pieces for a competitive Chien-Pao deck, but the deck as constructed isn’t going to blow the others out of the water. Pick whichever ones you want! Wouldn’t worry about comparative power level until you get to level 2 or level 3 decks.
I have played against a couple of hydrapple decks and one cinderace deck so far. I'm more interested in the cinderace deck. I would rather you cover that one, cuz I want to know the strategy behind it and what makes it tick so I can be more prepared to go against it or play it myself. I think I've gotten the gist of what hydrapple deck does and also not very interested in that deck.
Hi just started playing Pokermon can you recommend a easy deck to play at my clubs Pokermon night and will you be doing an upgrade vid for the new battle deck due in the next month or so, cheers keep up the great work providing entertaining Videos
Welcome to the Pokemon TCG! I actually answered that question in a video I released not too long ago. Hope this helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3xC8Axcrj1Q.htmlsi=QZqzQSwfDZbfP9My
All you needed at the end of the first match is super rod -> scream tail, nest ball to put it into the bench, research to get Gardi, and finish Charmander on the bench
I didn’t need to play Turo in that last game. Getting Drifloon up to 90 damage would still make it hit for 270, enough to one-hit KO Galvantula. Nevertheless, there might be times where using Turo on a Drifloon could win you a game. Don’t be like me and memorize your multipliers! Also, I could have easily sniped the Charmander on the bench for game with Scream Tail. Admittedly, I didn’t see that play in the moment because I REALLY wanted to hit the Drifloon + Munkidori combo for maximum damage and KO the Charizard. It was a much riskier proposition but I’m glad that I was ultimately able to sequence it right for my sake. More often than not though, take the easiest route to victory!
Manaphy blocks damage, not block damage counters. Those are treated as two different forms of damage distribution in the Pokemon TCG and attacks like Dragapult’s Phantom Dive and Sableye’s Lost Mine go through Manaphy because they distribute damage counters.
@@InThirdPerson Ok 👌 thank you for responding! I’ve seen others boss up Manaphy then use cancelling cologne. I guess they don’t have to. Thank you again! 😄
@@Agape11 They boss up Manaphy and Cancelling Cologne so they can use Kyurem's attack, which is damage and not damage counters. But if they just want to drop damage counters with Dragapult's attack, they don't need Cancelling Cologne.
So my favorite card is looking to be Lapras ex because I’m a Gen 1 fan. Not to say the others are bad necessarily. But on the note thank you for sharing these videos they are very productive to my learning of the game and how to grow my strategies.
Is this more consistent than LDFs build or popsicle knights? I’m trying to make this my main deck because I love item lock and the challenge of getting these attacks off but I want it to be as consistent as possible. Kind of leaning towards popsicle knights build because it runs two bibarel. He also runs hyper aroma but I think crystal is better.
Big fan of both but I don’t know what their builds are. Haven’t watched their Galvantula videos yet (but maybe I should now that mine is out). I generally avoid covering builds from other RU-vidrs because there’s no point in watching me retread the exact 60 cards that someone else has covered. Regardless, I always recommend viewers try multiple lists from different sources, figure out what they like, and then fine-tune the list to match their personal preferences and the specific meta they’re playing in. There is no perfect 60 for any deck. Aim for making the perfect 60 for yourself.
I play with Darkrai vstar, i built deck myself, didn’t look at any other decks, i have managed to beat all other decks few times, but i can never beat Charizard ex, it is frustrating
i think my favorite card form SCR is defo Area Zero Underdepths. built Miraidon irl pretty much immediately after it got revealed just because or how funny it is to me that Mewtwo ex has a place in an actual deck
This card takes too much ti combo the lock every turn and lacks damage. Ill give this list a tey but ive tried about 5 different builds of this and they're all clunky. At most. TeChing in raikou or iron hands for some pressure after locking or before locking is also not a bad idea
