Wow - the video is stunning -those ambient light filters are just amazing. Just about to order some myself for my GH5 setup. One question - have you done much in the way of experimenting with HDR underwater, and what results have you had, whether GH5 or S1R?
They are a big help. If your camera is capable of shooting at higher ISO without much penalty, I would look into adding the lens filter as well. If you look a the Z Cam video, that was shot with a combination of the two. It does remove 2 stops of light so you just need to take that into account. Unless you re shooting a canon, the lens filter helps a lot.
Sorry, about the HDR, all the RED footage could be edited and rendered in HDR, as could the E2 but you need a true HDR reference monitor ($$$) to do the grading but the footage has the necessary dynamic range.
ScubaBobOC thanks! I shot this mostly with the Canon 16-35 as I damaged my WACP the second day. Macro is with the 100mm canon. I would recommend using the WACP.
Mr.Hergen..i need your opinion.. can i use 16 - 35mm and 100mm macro lense in WACP 2? Or i have to change to other port for my S1H when im shooting macro
Woahhh.... very good. Im gonna be in Batanta next month. Plan on doing loads of filming with the Hero 5. Your video looks fantastic, the reefs look unreal to. Check out my video in the Philippines. Its with Hero 3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RXVYpzyhL_o.html
Holly cow, this almost converts me to video! What lights are you using? What camera mount? What software did you edit with? Settings? Does Backscatter even know?
Hey Rusty, thanks man! Shot with the high CRI Keldans and the flip filter with white balance set at 2-3000K. Edited with Final Cut Pro X but there's not much you can do with GoPro as it is so compressed already. Backscatter knows but it is too long for them to use.
