Another Amc not noticed aspect DP. The difficulty tò hear studio version After having Heard live versions that make them appear tò be a bit dull and unexpressed. The same problem on the other hand. Sometimes live versions of previously studio mode hearing can become a bit too bombastic brushing off that perfect and precious formal coat. So 2 different ways to mourn an amc Classic? This problem reaches the pinnacle in 'mercury'?
I was at this gig. My memories of it were that it was utterly shambolic and Mark was in a dreadful mood. I vaguely remember a ludicrously small stage which no doubt fueled the general tetchyness of the band. It actually sounds a lot better than I remember.
hmm, love PONTO ... is "inferior product man" the song known as EXPLODING CHIMNEY??? i am thinking that bit of lyrics cropped up in a few songs around that time .. or maybe it was only in 50 YEAR OLD MAN ??? I am losing it and cant recall ... I know EXPLODING CHIMNEY was in some 2008 sets
@@dirtypearl I think Chimney isn't simmilar to Product Man. And yeah, there are excerpts of Product in 50 Year Old Man at least in The Basement version.
@@speeduser3597 wow, i completely forgot that song from the Brittania Row session on the expanded IWS - I dont know why i was confusing it with Exploding Chimney
To be fair, MES wouldn't have been able to carry this off without mega radio play from BBC's John Peel. And on that launchpad promise of a bright future, the other band members fell into line, each hoping for their own career enhancement. Otherwise, as with Capt. Beefheart's backing from Zappa, no other band member would have put up with his army seargent often obnoxious attitude.
Cover this if you dare... The case me Is more and more simple...it's not a mere question of tastes ( i like i do not). All This can't be judged or misjudged but only' 'suffered', whatever It May take. A pure acknowledgement beyond any fondness
Yesterday i listened again tò the cover AMC album , 'come on beautiful'.. RIDICOLOUS. It explains all the huge diffetence between amc and the others Who turned that nameless magma intro a collection of mere boring canzonettas. They should only have understood that different approach and Just quit. So long DP.
Yes, ive not heard that in a long long time but i really dont recall being impressed but someday should hear again to see if my view has changed at all. I think it's very tough to cover Eitzel
This was such a great gig. If anyone's wondering why the mix is all over the place, Mark was walking around the stage turning the amps up and down, moving the cymbals around etc. First and only time seeing the fall, and it was suitably chaotic. Got to give Mark the finger from the front row and have him sneer back at me haha. Boyhood dream realized.
Golden midnight taking us across the water Holy love, sing We're falling, closed from every other As dawn breaks I wonder Sun's growing cold Ours is not to wonder To never grow old To never grow old Oh ariel I will always feel right out here Something wasn't taught in school Sister and brother Never loved each other like this Oh listen, the water And never fall You never fall Ariel
Anyway you can. Just the same acoustic version i heard live so long ago. You never listen to amc DP, at least you hear amc. Right? Tonight, - i was just arrived in paris by train - i do not fly- i listened to buffalo tom ' let me come over' and the downsiders ' all.my friends are Fish'. So long
@dirtypearl Yeah I'm with you there. It's a tough call cos there were other classics like Poptones etc but to return and record less than a year after the Pistols split with a new band. Classic debut single and open their debut album with 'Theme' must of blown a few heads and pissed a few old fans off. A monster track with all members firing on all cylinders ;-)
Another name to check if you wish. Recently discovered. Olin janusz. His first album 'please leave quietly'. Great title. At least One tune deserves:: the throat. Maybe the voice, a bit too much dramatic and cavernous mode, turns out to become rather smug, but the whole structure is serious.
Christ sakè. I forgot tò mention the haunting 'abnornals anonymous' by Congo norvell. So many times in my ears...not a perfect album i'd Say but very underskinning.
@@tommasosarri9680 The album before those something with tltle SONGS TO REMEMBER HIM BY - i need to hear it again but that seemed really weak compared to the other albums and the lineup was fuller but not better.. what's your view on that ??
It was something that was about tò become something:, the other two tò come. The structure Is not bad bUT the whole thing Is confused and 'directless'. 0ne have tò Say that their music Is really very difficult tò let out. On the razor Blade all the time. It's very Easy tò cut and sense Blood on the Throat without feeling any harm. Another dirty Pearl DP. SON . TOILING MIDGETS THAT I GOT TWO TIMES BECAUSE THE FIRST COPY OF THE VINYL HAD NOT RESISTED. DUE TO THE HUGE PRESSURE, NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. The album collapsed and said no more
Nice!! Jim G Thirlwell / Foetus interview, from 1986 just after the release of "Nail", conducted by Tim Ritchie ("Australia's John Peel") broadcast on Sydney's Triple J station. The interview then is mixed, sliced and diced into a Burroughsian collage by studio engineer John Jacobs using basic equipment. A great listen 👍💖
