Great playing!.......I have a question for you, I have damaged old Yamaha 875 that fell out of the case and I need to buya cheap replacement. Do you thing the eastern music tenor and soprano has the sound of a pro level saxophone? I don't want to buy a dull sounding horn with soft metal! And advice would be great!
thanks for this video --do you feel eastern music hammered neck better than selmer mark 6 neck ? or hammered neck brighter or more edgy or more power ? do you prefre eastern neck ? is eastern hammered neck is a pro neck ? thanks
Sounded good from my end. :) Guess there was no air leakage being as the neck wasn't a tight fit. Which is why a nYC neck maker from KB Sax sends I think a set of sizing "things" for the buyer to determine what size will fit his neck. I guess even if you knew the buyer had a Yamaha 82Z Alto the openings might not be all exactly the same? If you took 100 copies of...Doing that makes it more likely to have a tight fit. My issue with his necks are I think most are "plated"...might be one solid copper neck...might be wrong... Most of us know that only the metal will make any difference and plating is just for looks. :) Along with the size of the neck...is the tube narrow or does it flare out?
Sachi Blevins is in seventh grade at Nevada Learning Academy. She started piano in first grade and flute in the fourth grade. She studies piano with Cindy Lee and flute with Minji Park Wu. Prior to the pandemic Sachi was a member of the LVYO (Las Vegas Youth Orchestra) Symphonic Band where she was 2nd chair flute. She was chosen for the LVYO Symphony but cold not participate due to the pandemic.
Allo Sir Man,both sounded really great! I am floored by that Eastman neck.. It is a little more brighter,or less dark,,in my opinion. All the best Mario
sounds sweet! On a similar/different note, have you tried Arnold's MKVi style tenor? I have one of his straight sopranos(and dig it) - my current tenor is battered - another overhaul isn't worth it
How much did you pay for the sop? I am looking to buy a soprano, maybe one made entirely în cupronikel like the alto în this video. I just want a super fat sound and hopefully I ll get it. Do you have any videos with your EM soprano? Thank you !
Thanks for the demonstration. I’ve got two I bought used and both are doing asymmetric removal. As a result the reed playability becomes even more compromised. Also the curvature of the reed in the corner doesn’t match my mouthpiece. It makes the corners too round so for a slightly more square-ish corners it doesn’t quite seal and the playability and response gets negatively affected.
