One of the things that blew me away the first time i rode it is the hatch through which the wailing women come in in the dressing room, actually opens, which is in your video as well on 10:22. Such a small thing that they didn;t have to do. But they thought of it, engineered it and probably spent a lot of money to build it, just to have one other small detail. Nobody would have thought any less of the ride if it stayed shut, but that just wasn't good enough for the designers. Also, having Anneke van Giersbergen on it is also fantastic. I love her wailing "hoogmoed komt voor den val" right before you're going up the lifthill. Brilliant. Great video, and compliments on your english!

In the ride itselve are also so many small details. The wailing women come out of a steam pipe that actually blows out steam at the same time, and when they leave they open the door of a barrel, while the machine on the right of you is almost exploding. I just noticed it lately, because earlier I was just so excited for the drop I hadnt time to process everything
Oh absolutely there is so much eye for detail in the storytelling. Did you know there is even a statue of Maria in the shaft. This because this is common in the mining world! All these details make this ride so much more then just a rollercoaster
Great video with lots of new infos, thanks! I love Baron 1898, it's one of the best themed rides worldwide. I always find some new details on every visit. And it has one of my favourite soundtracks!
@@DutchThemeparkNetworkNL the "broken" lift with the test seat, the boilers in the photo booth, and most of all, the big wheel on top of the lift hill that starts going backwards once the train drops... never noticed this, but will definitely look out for it on my next visit!
We are visiting for the first time in May next year when we visit Efteiling again. Thankyou for this video, we are always thankful for tips to help us out when visiting a new park.
Loved this video! We are a lot of those snacks on our visit! I loved the pancakes at Polles Keuken, I had a warm fresh strop-waffle, and I think our favourites were probably the pofferjes too (and the free plate for children!)
Great information about Dutch snacks thank you. we always find the food in Efteling is fantastic quality . Totally agree those warm and fresh stroopwaffles are so good!! Looking forward to trying Unox hotdog never had that before , will try the lovely looking food stall near the entrance as well , we have always rushed past that on entry to the park but looks like it worth a stop to get those snacks featured and it’s a brilliant tip to try that around Aqua Nura time, would be great for snacks for waiting for the show to begin. The Dutch hot snack walls are a thing of genius , I love that there are 3 locations of them 😊🌷
The food at Efteling is very good. They put a lot of effort in differentiating the food offer in the last few years. We’ve seen a lot of new food items appear on the menu, mostly suiting the area they are sold. We have more food tours in the planning. So stay tuned.
Als je goed kijkt zie je dat een deel van het orgel op een soort draaischijf staat de bovenstehelft dus ipv dat het openslaat zal het draaien waardoor het lijkt alsof hij verschijnt.
Danse Macabre looks amazing . When I first visited Efteling years ago I was blown away by how natural this park looks so much so that on our first day we were walking past attraction entrances that we wanted to visit by accident , it was tricky to find things on the first day . However instead of that being off putting it’s the opposite , many attractions blending in to the scenery is a real asset to the park. it’s the most beautiful park ever. danse Macabre looks like it’s going to fit with the Efteling style perfectly , the old abbey looks like it’s always been there. This style doesn’t happen by accident , gotta admire the work that goes into this park. Loved this video of watching the making of together with DTN , the excitement is building 😀

Great overview and reaction of the latest news about Danse Macabre, which I see as Spookslot 2.0. I am still hoping for a classy, „poetic“ Efteling-style Halloween event. Instead of scares, blood&gore they will have more mysterious dark beauty. Something that is not really offered anywhere else. They 100% could pull it off!

👍 looks great . The entertainment looks to be very well in theme with the park , the wizard, the inventor and the bubble people, they have great costumes and fit the magical vibe. the musicians will give a lovely atmosphere as well . Toverland is looking fantastic
Yes it does close for winter. The closing date varies and after the refurbishment they can adjust the water levels and effects better. So we have our fingerers crossed 🤞🏼 that they don’t have to close it anymore or just for a shorter while.
One of the first things I do when I arrive in the Netherlands is buy a jar of Calve mayonnaise , it’s so yummy. just noticed the satay sandwich is Calve peanut satay sauce ….definitely gotta try this now 😊 mojito sounds good too
A glitter tattoo is 7,50. A tattoo including an accessory is 12,5.face paint is 9 euro. Face paint including an accessory is 14 euro. Face paint and a glitter tattoo is 15 euro.

I love djin, but Max & Moritz are so cringe😢 also anderberg I find super overrated, veel te nuchter voor😮 boogie boys hebben me wel verbaast, veel beter dan Zang&Gelukkig terwijl het dezelfde mannen zijn xD the saté at the summer beach is SO GOOD! Wolf is echt een geweldige show, het zomer programma is weer aardig geüpgraded, alleen zonde van de mariachi
So exciting , Efteling is doing so much more for Summer than in years gone by and it all looks fantastic . Thanks so much for covering everything this video is very useful. the snacks and drinks look great for myself I will check out the iced coffee , I’m sure my group will be trying many ice creams . And it’s there all year round but we can’t wait to get our fish and chips and kibbeling from De Meermin so delicious .
