Hey lovelies,

Welcome to my channel.

Here we'll spend most of our time discussing wellness and lifestyle. For me a big part of that is self care, skincare and a healthy mental health. That's where having a hobby comes in. Something you enjoy doing that brings you joy, peace and relaxes you. For me that's shopping for plants, caring for my plants and just sit back with a cup of coffee and admiring their beauty and all the efforts I put in to get them to that point. If that sounds absolutely fascinating to you then come on over and relax with us. Hit that subscribe button and join in the relaxation fun.

How do you get crisp white patches on manjula instead of creamy green?

The lighter green is the newer leaves turning to more of a creamier white as it mature.

If you can also give me your recipe as to why you have such a beautiful Hoya plant. It would be appreciated.

Oh my thank you. I haven’t really done anything special. It lives outside in south Florida’s high humidity, a lot of natural light and since recently consistent watering. Almost daily because it’s so hot outside. With a lot of love and patience yours will get there too. This is the first year mines blooming and I’ve had it for years.

I have a Hoya just like it, but I can't get it to produce any flowers. and it's an old plant and I've had it for at least 5 years. So today I stumbled on a solution to the problem.

Hi I’ve had mines for many years too as well and this is the first year it’s blooming. I’ve moved a year ago and I think it’s liking its new home. I also started to give more consistent watering, letting it dry out in between and it has slow release fertilizer in it. Hope this helps.

That’s not mines. It grows in the apartment complex I use to live at, but to get it like that, simply plant it at the base of the tree and guide it up the tree. As it grows up the roots leave will get bigger and bigger

Heads up: got one last week and found a plastic net plug around the roots. It was easy to remove but did need to be repotted since it wrapped around the entire root ball. I’m sure it is fine if you don’t mind the plug but I freed it asap so I didn’t have to deal with it once the roots filled out more. So excited to find these though 🐣🌵❤

Is this the plant you were propagating in water? Been waiting to see an update because mine has been in water and hasn’t sprouted any roots yet.
@bloomingwithjes
@bloomingwithjes 7 месяцев назад
Hi, no this came from divisions of my mother Aglaonema silver bay. Not sure which one of the plants you’re talking because I have quite a few in water. I do have a small silver bay living in water as well. Don’t know if that’s it. If yours is not doing anything in water then maybe you can transfer it to soil and see if it does any better. I have learnt that this journey is all about trial and error and what works best in your environment. Maybe look into the lighting as well. Hope this helps.

Hi. The way you describe propagating with perlite is wrong. You should use 2 cups put holes in the bottom of the 1st cup and fill it with perlite and put your corm in it. And put that cup into another cup that has water in it. The way you described it using the Tupperware wouldn’t really do much.
@bloomingwithjes
@bloomingwithjes 10 месяцев назад
Hi I was just following what I saw others did here on RU-vid. It worked for them but it did for me. I guess it’s just trial and error and doing what works for you.
@rutherosado8718
@rutherosado8718 11 месяцев назад
Lava rock is wonderful but you have to water way more and once those roots stick to the lava rocks is almost imposible to remove them without doing serious damage. I live in climate like yours and from experience my phal do way better in moss. All comes down to the watering. Semi hydro doesn’t work in my environment due to algae forming in days and mosquitos. I am so glad to see you on the path to become an expert and thats exactly how is done by watching others, reading and trying for yourself what works for you and why. Keep up the good work.
@bloomingwithjes
@bloomingwithjes 11 месяцев назад
Hi, thank you so much. Indeed. It is definitely trial and error for me and when I find something that works then I stick to it. Currently, the Phals are doing well in the lava rocks. I don’t have to worry too much about watering because it rains often and I will supplement when the rain tapers off. What I plan to do is not to repot them but instead up pot. I might break the terracotta or just place that one inside a larger one once they outgrow their pots. I’m a bit of a overwaterer so I’m afraid of moss. I rather stay on the drier side😅. Happy planting!
