The 2 flat beams are connected just with a screw, locking nut, and some washers. The closer beam is powered with an orange Savox servo that you can see at 1:48 when the lift is raised. We switched to ProModeler servos halfway through the season to get more range and reliability.
This is what we posted last year: "We are a family-based team, centered around 2 brothers David (Blue Brainstormers) and Andy (Red Brainstormers), and coached by their parents. With Andy and most of the other members graduating this year, we are ending the team."
We ended up using Mcmaster 9293K115 Constant-Force Spring, 3000 Cycles, 22" Extended Length, 2.870 lbs. Load, but it will depend on how much weight you are trying to lift
You may not have always been ranked 1 but you were always the undisputed BEST team when it came to top tier consistent performance. Thanks for all the inspiration you have given. It was a pleasure to see you guys in Houston for Freight Frenzy. A big congratulations from team 13377 Blackout.
Not sure if you remember us from the Norfolk Qualifier, but I'm from Team 293 Medium Builders. Thanks so much for all of the helpful content on the channel, and thanks for carrying us in the qualifier😁
