@@unbecomingtimmy8122 Definitely still interested if it’s not too much trouble. Recently moved to the area and none of the locals I know are into this kind of activity to be able to give me good info.
@@southgeorgianole2668 I got in at Shepards Bridge Rd aka Hwy 56 (northeast corner of the bridge, you can see it well on google maps or google earth) it’s west of Jack Hill State Park. Watch the video to know what to look for so you don’t miss the camping spot, because there isn’t much after that for good camping. You will get out at Hwy 147, you will see a boat ramp on the right. There wasn’t much of a cell signal so have a backup plan in case you can’t contact someone to pick you up.
Might be a stupid Question, but what were you using for the Mattress part? Is it Lawn cushions or couch cushions? Im a Big Guy, 250 lbs and Those inflatable sleeping Pads just dont work for me
Where is Lake Claiborne? I am in Galliano, in south Lafourche Parish and looking for a restful place for 3 senior ladies to chill. ...... Never mind.... I googled the map. It's doable if I do the driving. I will see about this place. Is this cabin a rental?
I built a small camper on a old truck box camper I had , did the same thing for the bed , I'm only 5'8" . Wanted it to be the same foot print as my truck , do I can get into tight spots while trout fishing ECT .. if u have a email I'll shoot u some pics ..it's pretty cool
How tall are you? Seems I might be able to put the bed from side to side instead of using the length of the truck, I’m 5’4” and I’m a side sleeper. That’ll give me more space since I have 2 dogs ( 35 lbs and 70 lbs). Thanks.
Hi guy's, I saw your vid. I've been truck camping since the mid 80's. Here's what I've learned & I'll pass them on to you. 1) Get stuff you need at a camping store for backpacking. It's small, compact, & light weight. 2)Get splash guards for your truck. It'll help keep you & your rig clean. They work. I know. 3) When parking for the night, park headlong into the wind. That way if a storm comes you won't have to worry about a side wind ripping off your camper shell. Plus, if anything comes bouncing towards the truck, since you have a slimmer profile, it might miss you. If it does hit, the front of the truck is reinforced. 4) Use bug spray on the interior doors & windows/ screens openings to help keep bugs out. Use wasp & hornet spray around & on your tires to help keep critters out. Basically, all points of contact on the ground. 5) An inch is a lot of room. Learn how to stack & get used to sand & dirt. Use floor mats to put your shoes on too I hope this helps. Great vid, thanks for sharing. Drive safe. 🤠
I've been dying to do some canoe camping at Badin but I can't find much info about it. I know you launch from Cove boat ramp, but about how far of a paddle is it (I'd like to bring my 10 year old) and where exactly are the camp sites? Any info would be much appreciated!
The big rock is call Adamant rock (elk park trail). Beautiful view and the sunrise from up there is amazing! I was told the green grassy area is just like a wet area, no good place for a camp area. We try and hike pikes peak every year and I love the video!
Allen Family Adventures We live 5 hrs away. We get there once a year. We stay up there for 3-4 nights and then come back. My son wants to try a winter hike to Barr camp this year. I will have to see about that. Have a good one!!
Allen Family Adventures we will. My son (Bradyn Meredith has a you tube channel) does a lot of recording also. We tried the Colorado trail last year. Only made it through part of section 2 and turned back. If you do the CT make sure you don’t try and hike the first section in one day. ( killed us. 16 miles). Also That trail that goes by adamant rock will take you to the pikes peak road. Bradyn has a video of it. It very pretty cool also!! Enjoy and have fun!
