Thanks for watching "COACH STROUT'S CLASSIC FIGHTS". The number one channel for classic boxing from the late 70's, 80's, and early 90's. I hope everyone is enjoying the fights. - - -
Thanks for upload very good bout. Damiani very skillful boxer and was cruising to a win before getting tagged. Mercer very dangerous not many could beat him - only the best.
Followed him frm start.m.johnson.saad.etc.b 68 now saw thrill manilla on tv.boom arguello.pryor arguelo.etc the tv days of boxing it was great 60's thru early 80..great tv
Had Gomez fought Sanchez like this I think he would have won the fight, instead he showed a great fighter in Sanchez no respect and paid for it. Here he showed Zarate huge respect until he hurt him and knew Zarate was ripe for the picking.
Shavers threw a lot of haymakers. These wild round house punches could knock a concrete wall down. It sound like a bullet whistling pass your head. However, If u could box and u had a pretty good punch then u had a very good chance of beating Shavers.
Always impressed with Qawi. The guy has one of his worst performances when it comes to missing so many punches in a bout but still guts it out for a win.
Amazing fight. Lil' Red Lopez was one of my favorite of such a great crop of fighters in the 70's. Of course, Sanchez became an instant fan favorite as well. When these two men met, they gave an incredible performance (both times) and I salute them both. Thank you, gentlemen. RIP Salvador.
