Absolutely stunning - great drone footage. Thanks for sharing! Can I ask where you park for this walk? I’ve seen a few RU-vidrs who park at the Kings tree. Do you just ignore the no car/motorbike sign at Fairholmes (where the gate is). Cheers, David

@@davidk.8608 hi David, thanks for the lovely comment & for watching 😃 At Fairholmes roundabout, you can drive down to King’s tree, but NOT at wkds or bank hols. They shut the road/gate. So down at King’s Tree, if you’re going in the week, you cannot park next to the tree (on small roundabout there) but you can park just back up the road about 50yds from it (on left hand side as you drive back to fairholmes direction). I’m sure you will see cars parked there. I parked further down the road about 1/4 mile from king’s tree in a lay-by on a corner. I parked here because I was leaving it overnight & it was out of the way here really. Had no problems on my return. Hope that helps ATB Dave

Hello Dave. I'm up this way Fri-Sun. Welsh 3 peaks Fri. A mountain and waterfall Sat and the same Sun. I'm not sure where to go yet. It looks a good place to camp by the lake here? Is it a good spot mate?
@davebirds5667
@davebirds5667 2 месяца назад
Hi Jamie, great stuff, sounds an awesome wkd mate. Are you doing the 3 peaks in 24hrs or just over the wkd? I would def camp on cadair Idris, be quieter than snowdon, 1000% ! I haven’t climbed CI yet. Done pen y fan couple of times & snowdon I have done 6 times 😊 If you do venture over to the Moelwyns, Personally, I wouldn’t camp next to Llyn Cwmorthin, unless arriving v late, it is fairly busy round that lake & there’s a cottage next to lake (might be a hol cottage I’m not sure) they may not approve. You could climb up abit or walk out the back/top side of the valley towards Cnicht & find a spot there. Maybe climb up a bit around base of Moel Druman, there are 3 small tarns/waters up there & plenty of pitches I’d say. You can park a car quite near to the lake in a place called Tangygrisiau. Free parking 👍😃

@davebirds5667 That's great. Thanks mate. I'm doing it all Fri. I'll be very quick on Pen y Fan. Filming slows it down a little. I won't film much. Say what I'm doing then go and photo up the top and talk at the bottom move on then. I might just end up sleeping in my car Friday and camp or bothy Saturday. Aber falls Sat and perhaps with mountain you did or one of the others you mentioned. I'm terrible at planning and I change my mind last minute. Last week I was going to the Shropshire Hills and it turned out to the Malvern Hills. This weekend was supposed to Lake District and it's now North Wales 🤦🏻😂 It will all work out in the end. In the area, I would recommend Great Gable, a great climb. Can be accessed from wasdale or seathwaite side or honister pass. I have a video coming out soon of a wild camp I did this week on Haycock which isn’t far from wasdale. You can see the Scafells in the video footage. The next day I'll do a few things in one day, sleep in car and the next day something small and drive back. I've got a good engine on me, I can hike forever 😁 I don't like climbing across tight cliffs and things like that but cool with heights and things like that. Hoping to have a few swims on the walks. @@JamieHarding5 there’s no spoons close by there. Nearest is probably Keswick! I can recommend the wasdale hotel or a pub in Nether wasdale which is close by called The Strands. Lovely landlord in there. Regards walking; get yourself up Scafell Pike then, as that’s what your there for, you can park in a car park at wasdale Head. There isn’t a tarn or lake on it but wast Water is right there in the valley, the deepest lake in the Lake District (& the coldest in my opinion 😂) Then do another walk up great gable. If your feeling full of energy do another walk called The Mosedale horseshoe: this walk takes in some pretty big wainwrights inc pillar, red pike, Scoat fell, Yewbarrow & the views you get of the scafell range & wast water from Yewbarrow are epic. I absolutely love this walk. The views are great. There is also a tarn up there behind red pike called Scoat Tarn if you fancy a swim. It’s a fairly big walk though this route. Try looking on walklakes.com this walk is on there plus many many more. A shorter walk in the area would be ‘the screes’ at the side of wast water (these are called whin rigg & illgill head. Yes weather was superb in the morning, winds got up after lunchtime but I was more or less finish by then. It’s a great route. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. ATB Dave

@davebirds5667 You should have way more subs. Sure it will come. Your filming good. Better than mine. 😁👍 I picked up some subs by going to popular places, bothies, crash sites things like that. I'm hoping to do more hikes in England soon. Hope you have a good time on your next one.👍

Hi Glenn, that’s great, a big thanks for supporting me. Ive just sub’d to you too, as you are a PD walker, I’ll check out your vids, as always looking for folks videos around here. Chee Dale is my favourite if I’m being honest, but it’s taking a battering at the minute, all the dales are with this weather! Thank you for watching Take care Dave 👍
