I have questions which you may know the answer to. I have crossed a clear red mosaic cock with a greywing mosaic hens. All the chicks came out as self birds with no mosaic markings. I am wondering if you think they will moult out differently (this has been my first year with canaries, so I have little experiences on outcomes) and do you think breeding them back to clear red mosaics be worthwhile if they stay self birds? Thank you in advance
Hi Julian ive just purchased 4 pair of red mosaics. (Seller mentions from the julian line) is it ok to feed them greens.. i was told only to feed peas, only, plain canary seed from 2 months up to the breeding season.. after the breeding a canary mix seed...love the video.. Love your video..
Hi Julian. You have the best quality Red Mosiacs I've ever seen. I'm breeding canaries since 1999 inspiring. Top class birds. I your knowledge of what you doing is impeccable my friend
There's alot of preparation to be done prior to breeding canaries. If you didn't doit. I doubt they will be in condition to feed.. but try some mashed boiled eggs . With eggfood in it.little bit of Niger seeds.. also take the male out. Let the hen go eat by herself.Good luck
Hi Julian any updates on your breeding season on the goldfinches from 2022. I've some beautiful young from this season. Eumo , whitetops , classic pieds ,
Canaries very good . Only had 10 pairs mosaic this year breed 51 youngsters.. but due to luck of space I'm taking a brake from birds.. after the moult all birds will go.so no more videos I'm afraid

I really like your large flight for your canaries I was wondering are you able to access the food and water from the bottom door and you never have any problems with the birds escaping also when it’s time to remove them for breeding are you able to enter in and get the birds out using your hands or a small net thank you for your answer I appreciate it
Hi Julian. Why do some mosaics have red over most or all of their body, and some only red on the face, shoulders and rump? Is it the colour feeding or cross mutations?
Hello brother Julian, we have a debate here in the USA, is the white wing red factor genetic or some say after color feeding breeders pull out the wing feathers and when the bird grow a new feather it's white
Hi.the reaswe colour feed the young at 42-45 days old is to let the wings and tail to finish growing.. of you colour feed them earlier than that , wings and tail will get color to ..that's only on young birds first year.as the wings and tail won't change same, From second years wings and tail will change same time with the body feathers. therefore they won't be white anymore...hope that helps
Hey Julian from Denmark lovely setup very inspiring I have a question about the perches are in the same night in many off your cages? I have 1 low and a high in both ends off the so they can fly more vertically Great video Jan
Some people colour feed them in the nest the want wings and tail completely red. That's why..on red factor.. but if you want white wings and tail you have to colour feed from 45 days old
Hi Julian,i have big flight like yours, use versele laga seed mix but my birds are so FATTY..do you have any solution to make them fit again? All of them are so yellow Fatty :(
hi, I'm from Indonesia, in Indonesia red canaries or mosaics are difficult, and very few can be bred, so the price is very high, is it also expensive there?
