It’s things like this that keep me loyal to fender. If I spend thousands of dollars on a fender guitar I know that the quality and high standards will be obvious and present. I can’t say the same for Gibson, and they cost considerably more, but for what? The Gibson name? There are plenty of examples like this on RU-vid. People paying top dollar and getting defective gear straight from the Gibson factory, stuff that should never have left the factory to begin with. All that said, I do own a 1967 Gibson ES 330TDC, which I love, but Gibsons standards, craftsmanship, and quality control were much better back then. They need to wise up because they’ve got and awful reputation at the moment.
@BekkerGuitar

@monkofwar exactly... Thanks for your input. I owned a 1992 Gibson Lucille for 18 years (bought it in 1997 and sold it 2015, idiot that I was 😂) The guitar was great but even better, the case, that I had used exuberantly... Was still solid after 22 years.... So when Gibson does it right... It's exceptional quality. And... My current Gibson Lucille legacy..... It's an estonishing guitar.... The quality in playability and tone is exceptional.... So you do notice the quality when you pay for it..... Is it worth 7k? Probably not.... But for me, I had nostalgic reasons to buy this one.... For me the guitar package would have been better with a modern Gibson case, but then still with the yellow interior. For 6800 instead of 7000 😋 Cheers BekkerGuitar

So I got a reaction from Gibson. They have offered me a (store used) case to use for transporting my Lucille, Although they didn't actually have to.... The offer is therefor reasanoble and I have accepted the offer . I may keep the lifton Case (I have to for resell purposes one day....) I also asked them to make different/reliable choices in the near future regarding these cases....... So who knows.... We will see Lifton cases with modern latches.... Best of both worlds..... 🤗

The neck is a risk. Some cheap necks can’t be saved. The body is fine-it’s just a block of wood that can be adjusted and even reshaped if necessary. All mechanical and electrical components can be upgraded. But you need a luthier’s skills.

Have fun! They make really nice guitars Be sure to check if everything is measured and placed right With my guitar the (Chinese) builder cut the pickup holes using the glue line of the top plates as a reference But the thing was, the glue line of the top (left vs right) was off center I think they didn't line up the templet to that line, used to cut out the body shape So my pickup holes on my guitar are a little off center 🤦 I discovered it only when I was in the stage of placing the hardware (too late, finish was already applied) So remeasure everything the moment it arrives 👍

@@richardcorbalan1988 the difference between tru oil and for instance nitrocellulose is the look of it Nitrocellulose has a plasticky look to it like you see on a car ( most factory guitars these days have that) Tru oil has a more retro varnish look where (when applied lightly 20-30 layers, really thin handrubbed, massaged layers) you can still see and feel the woodgrain within the finish.

@@BekkerGuitar yes I Saw that. I already applied various tru oil layers on my gibson les paul tribute (this model come out with nothing of nitrocelulose finish or similar)now the guitar looks more than a les paul standard finish, but… my doubt was about the final sound, fear the tru oil “compress the sound of the wooden “ you think this is not possible right?

HI, I hope you redo this build after the video in the last 2 years. :) I have the same mobo. Originally manufacturer suggest (as it mentioned in the comments) the first graphicard should be in Slot 1, and the Slot 3 is the next full x16 bandwidth slot. That's why they have metal around them. But I tested, and the motherboard just works fine, if the VGA is in slot 3, and other thing is in slot 1. If slot 2 is empty, so number 1 M.2 NVME slot (that you use) has direct connection to the CPU with pcie x4 bandwidth. So it has no speed limit with the above listed type of storage. But if anything in slot 2, then this M.2 nvme change connection, and the data delivering to CPU through the motherboard chipset, where the bandwidth is shared with other things, such as USB 3, LAN 2,5 GBe, SATA drives...etc. Normally in this scenario still have enough bandwidth for everything, because really a few scenario needs NVME with more then 1500 MBYTE / sec. Only copying is the thing. But its still a mentioning limitation. But the second NVME slot is always go through the chipset. Originally this mobo is only good for work where really needs at least 2 high end VGA, because any other features is better in normal not lg2066 platforms, such as lga 1200. So if you really have a second VGA, the best layout is Slot 1 and Slot 3 use for VGA-s, and set the control panel to use the multi gpu setup for performance. No need for "SLI" anymore, it works without that cable. And you can put your firewire card into the Slot 4, which still has x8 bandwidth. And SLOT 2 is empty, so no limit on the number 1 NVME M.2 slot. BTW you should use an 2,5 GBe NAS for your work data, for security reasons, thats why this mobo has its second LAN.
@BekkerGuitar
@BekkerGuitar Год назад
Thanks barabas for your extended advice! I may redo this build in the future At some point I at least wanted to add a second storage card (it has to slots) so then I'll also redo the graphics card.... As per you mentioned 🙏🙏🙏👍

In general, Not all kit guitars are as good In detail finish of the back of the neck, thrusrod cover, could be improved.... I bought a les Paul at pitbull guitars (custom order) Of really good quality.... (the shop I bought my 335 is discontinued....) Be sure, when you order at Pitbull , do check if all is correct.... ( had a small issue with the placement of the pickup holes (a little out of alignment with the center line of the guitar) Good service though Offered me to return it or choose a discount.... Being that the guitar was of awesome quality apart from that tiny flaw, I chose a discount.
