The buttons for Play, Rewind, and Fast Forward definitely aren't redundant. Some people prefer them, and they actually provide shortcuts to those functions in certain apps that use on-screen controls. Nice review.
I had both prime video, and Netflix. But I just dropped Netflix. They do have some good stuff, a lot of them are too teen. There are a couple shows on there I like, more my type of shows. I find Netflix have a better layout. I don’t like that Netflix cost almost $20 in my country. Prime videos have great content, connected to different channels, great shows, and movies. It’s cheaper than Netflix, and it gives me prime shipping. So that’s why I got rid of Netflix after almost 4 months of having both, to see which one fits me.
I live in the Washington DC area and I just switched from DirecTV to RU-vid TV. But I can't seem to find anywhere on how to get either the Nat's game or the Oriole's game, or both. How do I watch these games? Or am I out of luck? Thanks!
*Ironic, met Cary Elwes a 2nd time today actually. It was for The Princess Bride Q & A special event/screening, I never get tired of a film like that. We "hold that film in the highest respect"*
I really like the free features on ROKU... great so far.... one thing that is a problem. Not sure if it's just me or my laptop cpu.... I plugged in a HDMI cable to the tv/laptop. The ROKU tv is brand new...not outdated. The laptop is older but, I went to the control panel and went to settings.... trying to use the ROKU tv as a secondary "big' screen for the laptop. The laptop see's the tv... it's on there as a secondary, and the mouse pointer can now go to the right and off the screen as most "dual" monitor setups work. The ROKU tv does not work with it. why??? Why have a "computer" or HDMI channel (setting) on the TV.... just for playstations and xbox's?? I feel hacked.
Old newbie here ... I subscribe to Criterion and watch it on my computer. However, I would like to stream it to a Sony OLED TV I just bought. Can I do that, and if so how?
The Roku in my room stopped connecting to the internet, so I wanted to see if the Chromecast was any good. You make a lot of good points about the Roku in this video, but I have experienced freezing with it as well. Every once in awhile, it'll just reset on me. Usually when nothing is happening. Roku has been good to me for several years now, but I think now, I'm going to try the Chromecast. Worst case scenario, I've got Rokus in two other rooms, so I'm not going cold turkey. If there's one thing I know about Rokus, it's this: don't buy a Roku Express! The cheapest Roku is not worth it.
Hulu, direct stream offer up to nine months unlimited too. Sounds to me like youtube TV is no better than direct stream. All this info and it makes the extra for Hulu worth it.
Didn't find what I was looking for. In my cellphone I can see the cast icon, press on it and it start the "connection" but never actually cast to my TV. I'll ready restarted, rebooted AND factory reset the chromcast. Nothing helped. Any tips o advice will be appreciated. Thanks.
I've already cancelled Netflix recently because Prime gives me more content that I enjoy watching. Would like to know if Prime offers other video streaming services for a price to watch local TV stations and/or sports. Thanks, Michael
How can I cut the internet cable? I signed up for FUBU tv so now I can get rid of Comcast/Xfinity overpriced cable tv. But, I have to keep their cable connection!
