I typically avoid removing or brushing away excess cement from margins before curing , as this will remive pr pull away some cement from the prep.margin interface , creating microleakage. To avoid that i seat the veneer , and apply glycerin over the margins to prevent oxygen inhibition layer from forming during curing. After tac curing , i gently remove the cemennt from margins only, and relyx cleans off very nicely and cleanly.

The reason why I really trust this video and the study they made is because it shows that optibond is the best, and many other dentists have already acknowledged this. However, optibond is a two step bonding agent whereas scotchbond is just one step. That is why I continue to use scotchbond and I'm very happy with it :)
Finally someone with some common sense. I used Optinond FL for 4 years in a row, but after running dry, I borrowed Scotchbond from a colleague and couldn’t believe the time I saved compared to the Optibond. But yes, optibond is the Gold Standard for adhesives.
Why so much bonding cement as the cement lute will be very thin. I would use probably 2/3rds of that in the video with main bulk in centre. This always gives full coverage and far less excess to remove.

Holds the crowns well but the cleanup of this cement is terrible. After tack curing, a big lump of cement is peeled off and the clinician is satisfied that it is clean and fast but in reality when looking under a microscope with high magnification, the cement remnants are still there, right on the margin and on the root surface below, hard to see with naked eye and are hard to remove. I found remnants even after 6 months after cementing a crown because I didnt know this.
In the cases when i use scotchbond universal Plus adhesive for veneer cementation with some other cement- not relyx universal cement ,should we lightcure the adhesive first?
