Then it is important for ST not to overcommit to ball-side CB in order to prevent the opposition progress since it would leave gap on the far side of the pitch (for far-side CB to dribble) isn't it?
Watching this in expectation of Tuchel replacing ETH at Utd. I did the same prior to ETH taking over Utd 2.5yrs ago. I was sure ETH would work..but it hasnt & regardless of tactics what i realise is a tactical plan although fundamental...requires as a pre requisite CHARISMA, CLEAR COMMUNICATION & FLEXIBILITY! ETH in reality does not possess these basic traits...Tuchel definitely has better communication & flexibility but as for charisma (influence) i think that is a weakness especially when results are poor. Both ETH & Tuchel are strong on discipline but Tuchel can manage stronger characters .. e.g Bruno & Rashford...i dont believe Tuchel will have favourites. My fear is that Tuchel will however look at the utd squad & see De ligt as an immobile defender so that would end up money wasted...Tuchel prefers faster, slender & tough ball players at the back...Yoro would fit perfectly although he's very young + whoever is manager we need a LWB. In midfield & attack is where Tuchel will have most trouble at utd... Mainoo is too young & looks isolated & lost under ETH...Ugarte is still new but is purely a close interceptor he lacks anticipation ; neither is truly a Kimmich/De Jong/Kante style player....Tuchel requires at least 1 or both pivots to be composed, ball secure, tight ball rotating carriers...we dont now have such players to link the middle to attack. In attack i don't see Bruno, Rashford, Zirkzee, Rasmus being any more productive than under ETH... These players lack cutting edge & are too wasteful in possession, further we do not have an imposing high scoring striker... Overall Utd have a massive issue with playing personnel.... Utd have big big problems with players...Tuchel could get slight improvement due to his communication & flexibility but until Utd get suitable & seriously composed team focused players we will not see any improvement in consistency. When you see other teams...Slot at Liverpool, Frank at Brentford, Arteta...their teams have both hard working low ego squads who have intelligence & know when to be compact or expansive... the utd squad lacks intelligence & cohesion. Any manager would suffer with this squad.
I am convinced whoever runs this channel is an Atleti fan, its been a few videos where you seem to be explaining the exact tactics Simeone's Atleti are implementing right now in the defensive phases of the game
And when it doesn’t work (most of the time) they get cut open on transitions like his later years at Bayern and his time at Germany, I believe with a couple years and squad improvement maybe he can craft a system like peak kloppball but he needs a little bit more pragmatism, not easy to do the all attack thing without an alphonzo Davies deleting every transition like quicksilver
My different styles: 1. Mark the space (don't move to man) 2. Zonal (Mark man in that zone) 3. Man Mark (follow man regardless of zone) 4. Split the pass option (you call it shadow the pass) 5. Split man Mark (like a striker would do with 2 CBs)
Basically 4231 transitioning to 433 just non traditional players who are coming to receive the ball in the areas of the full backs and centre midfielders
Shorts are terrible because of all the icons to the sides of viewing screen... can't even see the wing flanks, writing, etc... me thinks whomever designed shorts video layout was a retard.
