Air Force One used to land at the base I was stationed at all the time. There is a squadron called HMX-1 that follows the president. They fly the green and white helicopters you see moving the president. What you don't see is the Black Hawk Gun Ships and the Chinooks behind the scenes. They are loaded to the teeth and are on station with motors running while the convoy is moving.
