I've seen multiple offerings in Germany for the 800T (or 800 mt Touring over here) for 10890€, with crash protection, all of the eletronic goodies and a complete set of luggage. Also they give you 4 years of warranty here. This is on my list, definetly gonna test ride it

I am interested in this bike so made some searches and after watching a few, also found this video, which clearly was better than most the others I watched. Really good and informative video. I liked and subscribed. I really must say that you have a great helmet audio, you clearly worked good on that one. Something I wondered about,, that may not be correct. To my knowledge, in Europe we dont call it Ibex 800 MT, at least not in Sweden, it is just 800 MT. The Explore model also comes with the alu bags. For a new channel, some advice for your yt algo. Very few people will watch 44 minutes straight. Something to think about is maybe cut down to 10-15 minutes. That would make more people watch till the end, which helps your videos with the algo. Overall, you had very nice quality on the video, but something seems wrong with the settings of your camera as the sides looked a bit saturated. The trees turned from green to purple. I think jacaranda trees are beautiful, but they were not. lol I will not go check your other videos.

I appreciate the honesty of your review. I am trying to get real world feedback from owners regarding this machine as it has my interest. I have been riding motorcycles all my life since the age of 7 so that puts 45 years under my belt and I have owned many different styles over the years but find myself looking for a bike that I could ultimately ride year round in all four seasons. Sure I could probably get an XR, DR, or KLR 650 but they have no real spunk to them and wouldn't be something I could leave middle America for a coast on and have it be comfortable hence looking towards a more middle weight Adventure Tourer. I had considered checking out a Royal Enfield Scram 411 or possibly a Himalayan but they lack the engine performance to act as a tourer even though they would make a fantastic economy commuter. I like the idea of the heated saddle and grips and the Panniers would be a welcomed accessory. What is the coldest temp you have ridden in and did you find the heated accessories to be adequate or more of a gimmick? Like I said I’m looking for an all season machine to commute to work and for weekend get aways in the wilderness with my Mrs.
@ADVeagle
@ADVeagle 29 дней назад
Thank you for the comment. The coldest I've ridden was 18 degrees Fahrenheit. I was actually blown away, and so surprised by hiw effective the heated seat and grips were. I never thought a little heat on your butt and hands can make such a difference.

Can't see that anyone has said this. But one thing that will make you warmer over night is a smaller tent. Alot of your warmth is being lost to warm up the air inside a massive tent. Regarding the rest of your stuff you will learn every trip what you don't use, then you'll learn what you used but could do without. You learn every trip. It's a process.

Hi everyone, at the start of the video, I thought it was a joke to make us laugh... And then I noticed your severe lack of experience. It doesn't matter... My advice, after many years of solo experience in off-road motorcycle adventure "wild camping, bivouac". This is to limit weight and volume. Even if you only stay on the road and easy paths. The choice of light and solid technical equipment is essential. You must not go overboard otherwise your money will disappear quickly. You must rationalize your choices according to the type of travel, the duration, the destination. And the weather. I'll stop there because it would be too long. See you soon.

After my first big trip, I made a list of everything I took then asked “Did I Use it” y/n, “Would I take it again” y/n/?. Then go from there. Obviously tool kit, puncture repair, you may not have used it but you would take it again. As well this is how I got rid of two many items eg 2 pair riding socks, etc. I use tech fiber and wash in the sink, stream etc.

Great, looking forward to more vids! So, for starters, I'm female, so that adds an element of uneasiness when solo camping. One of the nights I was wild camping amongst the animals in Palo Duro Canyon in Texas (which was incredible!) but I had issues with the Bison not understanding what I was doing there. The other bad night involved some weird dudes walking around my tent and then helicopter search lights beaming down on the camp for what seemed like a very long time. It was scary because I couldn't see out to know what was going on. @@ADVeagle

Loved the video brother. Not a lot of people put themselves out there like that and then request constructive criticism. I didn’t see a lot of what you packed and can’t begin to imagine what you need in the form of camera equipment but I can suggest a couple of course corrections. Like someone in an earlier comment said about packing only what you need. Learn to be comfortable with less or phrased differently, learn to comfortable being uncomfortable. One suggestion I would make to minimize your load would be to consider a different pistol. Now no one loves a 1911 chambered in God’s caliber more than me but I carry a Ruger Max 9 in my tank bag. It takes up very little room and easy to transfer to my person should I leave the bike. Another space saving trick I use is using a thinner sleeping bag (40*) and bringing a puff blanket (woobie) to add layers in the bag. Lastly concerning clothing and personal hygiene. For a short trip like you did, I would suggest only bringing the absolute minimum amount of clothing necessary. If the plan is to go just camping for just a couple days then I’m only bringing one set of clothes, if I’m traveling and motocamping I’m living in my Moto gear. Drawers and T-shirt to sleep in. If it’s really cold sleep in my base layers. If I’m outside my tent, I’m back in my gear. I hope these tips help help my dude. You’ve already identified a lot of what you need to fix. Keep the videos coming man, you’re doing great and if you ever want a little farther ride for camping hit me up. I’m in Missouri and would gladly meet you halfway. facebook.com/steven.poole.754?mibextid=LQQJ4d

Oh thank you brother! So many encouraging words. I so appreciate it! Thank you for the wonderful tips. I probably should have done a few quick clip-throughs of what I actually packed. The funny thing is that I planned on hiking, sightseeing, etc. so I got more clothes for different activities. You are absolutely right about the pistol. the Glock is too big. A smaller piece is needed for sure. That's another thing on my shopping list. lol. I already bought a much smaller tent and camping chair. I do plan on doing longer and further trips. I'll shoot you a friend request. Let's be in touch. In August I'm moving back to Vegas so maybe we'll plan a meetup in Oklahoma or something? Funny you say that Daniel, I said that to myself on the way back home. Because the bike handled it like it was nothing (except when coming to stops). At one point it dawned on me that all the weight cant be more than 120-140lbs. That's an average passenger right there. But I guess just being so new to something made me freak out for no reason. When I edited the video and saw the footage I thought to myself "Man, I look like a total bitch". lol. I already feel like the next trip I'll feel more confident and apply what I've learned.

The quick shifter is not very good at all. Well it wasnt on the one I test rode anyway. The wind buffeting was bad too. Would need a better windscreen. What size did you get from Calsci? I like the fact that you can change out the air filter easily unlike many other bikes. Have you ever owned or rode any of the vstroms? Wondering how the two would compare.
@ADVeagle
@ADVeagle 7 месяцев назад
I agree, the quickshifter is not the best, but I was even surprised it had that feature included for the wonderful price. Many are surprised to hear that it comes with a quickshifter. So yeah, its not the best, but I'll take it as included in the bike. most bikes don't even have that feature. True about the wind buffering. I really didn't like it. that's why I researched and looked around for weeks before I found the amazing ClaSci. I got the Large windshield. I'm 6'1 and its freaking perfect! no wind buffering whatsoever. even at 90-100mph. I actually test rode a Vstrom before buying the IBEX. it was a few years old. I really didn't like it. she felt very heavy and very vibraty. and the heat that came out of the engine was cooking my legs. but that was one test ride on one Vstrom. aslo the Vstrom is not really made for rough terrain/ off road like the IBEX. I plan on going camping a lot and wanted a bike that can take me anywhere off road without worrying if she can handle it. the IBEX definitely delivers. especially with the Trailmax Raid tires. Curious to know more of your concerns. Lastly, the menu system... yeah there are a lot of clicks, but I have found that I have learned it enough to manage my way through on open roads. Great video and nice website, I found a few more things I may want to buy!
@ADVeagle
@ADVeagle 7 месяцев назад
Hey Jim, Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it. Glad you liked the video and the website. However the website needs more work. lol. With the phone integration, it wasnt hard connecting it, but it was annoying with notifications and overall it didn't feel like it was useful. Maybe because I use the Caerdo for music and phone. I used it only twice and remember fumbling with it constantly don't even remeremember the reasons. lol. but now that you're saying that you're happy with it maybe I'll give it another shot. The menu system... You are right, maybe I haven't used it enough to get used it where I'd feel comfortable using it on the open road. so far I've used it a few times and still dont remeber where to press and hold, where to double click, and still you gotta dig into the menu just to turn on/off the heated grips and seat. But like I said in the video, those are all minor stuff really. many bikes don't even have those nice features. It was mostly to inform others of all the pros and cons. So what are you buying next? Buying moto stuff never ends. lol Thanks again for the encouraging feedback! Join the Discord geoup where we can chat more about our ADV shenanigans. 😊

Totaly. the cruise control is a bliss for long rides. You listed the 3 items in order of importance. The horn is a major safety item in my opinion. Hi Luis, No I dont have that issue at all. I suggest take the bike for a second opinion at another mechanic. Most dealers are clueless about the IBEX because its new to them. My dealer was the same. Find a local mechanic that you trust, or with lots of positive Google reviews and take the bike there for another opinion. Any sound that is not the engine sound is something to check in my opinion.

I think you about nailed it. I LOVE mine. Does it have some flaws? Yes and so does any motorcycle out there. The menu navigation is kind of a pain in the ass but once you do it enough it comes as second nature. One thing I wish it had was lighted buttons. I work nights and on the way home if you want to fiddle with the cruise or navigate through the menu you have to do it by feel. You can not see where the buttons are. But again not a game changer. The bike is a hoot to drive. So much fun on twisty roads. That KTM 790 engine has plenty of fun power! Best bang for a bike out there if you are looking for an adventure bike. My buddy has a Honda African Twin and I made the mistake of trying it out one day. I was hooked BUT when I started pricing them I quickly got sticker shock. Then the Ibex800T came out and I was like perfect. Had to get it from a state near mine as my state didn't have any yet. All i've done to mine so far is install the cross bar above the display and mounted a garmin xt gps. I have cardio on my helmet so I can talk to other bikers or listen to music or even answer my phone and the garmin does all the rest! Mine is asleep for the winter right now but I am getting the itch to ride it again. hope fully we get a quick spring.
