Hi David, it's Elizabeth. I'm not sure if you remember me or not. My dad, Arthur Moniz, was 1 of the founding musicians of Banda Velha, along with your uncle Vital Garcia, and we went to Five Wounds together. Anyways, I was trying to find some vintage footage of the band to see my dad play and I came across this video. If you can upload anymore footage like this it would be awesome. Also I just wanted to say congratulations on your singing career. I clicked on 1 of your fado videos and you have a wonderful voice, I'm so happy for you. Take care😁
Hello Elizabeth, of course I remember you!!! This is all I have, but I have seen a video from when the band went to the East Coast in 87 or 89 where your dad was marching in front of the band as a board member. I'll see if I can find it and send it your way. Your dad was an icon in Banda Velha. I can still see him playing bombo with his home made drum stick made from a metal pipe and tennis ball. CLASSIC!!! Thank you for the support and comments. Hope I'll see you around soon. It's been forever! Beijinhos!
David Silveira Garcia Hello David. Thank you so much for the link to the other PBSJ video and for the kind words you said about my father. I really appreciate it. It turns out that not only is my dad in that video but so is my sister. She was a substitute for one of the flag girls that didn't get to go to Massachusetts with the band. Also I would love to see you perform live sometime so if you have a website with a schedule of your upcoming performances please let me know. Thank you again, beijinhos😁
