@@Ehhf it’s 800 miles and it cost me between $160 and $200 one way to drive back the the account, other times I’ll fly home and back and that’s $150-300 depending if I fly from Las Vegas or salt lake city
@@Ehhf yea we have a couple folks from Ga on this one when they go home over the road finds them a load and then one back for me it’s just easier to drive or fly
Hi there. I'm the owner of Trucker Calculator software, we teach truckers to control their money. Would like to post ads in your channel, is it possible?
Them auto air ups and extensions cause more flat tires then anything. Everything I see one I assume it's leaking somewhere and normally is atleast 50% of the time. Valve extensions are even worse.
sounds good. What's your driver code, Mark? Hopefully I'll have my paper copy of my CDL this morning. Then I"m going to apply to as many companies as I can
swift is good for experience to find a local job later on or for people who truly have a passion for OTR. i quit after 3 months solo because the OTR pay was pretty low for the stress, responsibility and time away from home . had to dip into saving sometimes. i found a local box truck home daily , weekends off that paid $300 take home pay more a week. has all the bells and whistles . it wasn't even a competition. i learned a lot at swift but OTR lifestyle wasn't for me
Yes I am still training, and where you live makes no difference on what mentor they will put you with. You are more than welcome to ask for me, I have not done any videos lately as I have been home due to having a surgical procedure.
They will and that will come with time, I do not do this to go viral or be the next Mr. Beast it is something I enjoy doing and would do it whether I got no views or millions of views. You say there is a problem with my video and there is not it was published just the way I made it. I am always open to free advice but I am never going to pay someone else to tell me how they think my channel should be done. @@musafir2..0
@@markbennett5211 I appreciate that Sir After finish training 4 weeks with trainer .how many miles per week and how much drivers make weekly regional? Thank you
@@fadi9596 this one is hard to answer as it will fluctuate some, but you should average 2,500 miles a week. Meaning some weeks you will get 3,000+ other weeks you will do less than 2,000 what you look at is your monthly miles total and as long as you are hitting 10k miles a month plus you are making decent money. Also depending on where you live I would definitely try and get on a dedicated route instead of running regional.
Yes you can always ask for more miles and keep up with your pta a little better than I do and you would get better miles. I am usually taking 11-13 hr breaks.
Week before last he only had one week to go as he was with another mentor and then got sick before finishing up so I took him on the truck and did his last week. This student I have now is with me for a minimum of 4 weeks
Dispatch / Planners need to be more HONEST with their drivers!!! If they can't, they need to quit! If I had heard the truth, I would have been ok with the change. I am on great terms with my dispatchers. They would have told me the truth up front and , we would have worked together to come up with a solution. The solution may not have the most miles but, it was something that I could work with!! I am grateful for this!!!
I wish more companies would listen to us drivers and communicate with us instead of lieing and retaliating against us. I have a video coming out tonight showing how I was retaliated against by a load planner for communicating with them.
I would have gone ballistic!!!!!! Good for you!! I always call customers before PU and DEL to check on things before I get there! Good advice!! Drivers have to be proactive! Swift, like many other carriers, probably has more drivers than work! They need to be more honest / transparent with their drivers! If many are saying they don;t make enough and they don't have enough work, let them leave!!! Swift needs to tell them we don't have the work, you need to go , and we will call you when things get better!
Hello there, I was analyzing your channel video, not SEO Optimized sir. RU-vid SEO is the process of optimizing your RU-vid channel and videos to rank higher in RU-vid’s search results. This can help you attract more views, subscribers, and engagement to your channel. your channel problem Views are not good. The channel video is good. The description is good. The channel tag needs to be better. The checklist is not good The channel video tag is not good. RU-vid’s search algorithm is similar to Google’s search algorithm in that it takes into account a variety of factors to determine which videos to rank higher.
I drove for swift back in 2016 for almost 2 years. The final straw for me was getting a service failure because i was late on an Amazon load when the truck broke down on the interstate like at 2 am, all my lights truck and trailer went out. I first called dispatch and was told to literally "just drive the truck" i said "send me a message saying that" and night dispatch just hung up and i ended up with my first service failure. 2 weeks later i turned in the truck in Lancaster!
With these trucking companies safety is nothing more than a slogan on a poster. push comes to shove safety always takes a back seat to the bottom line. period!!!
I thought it was different over her at Swift but I am starting to have a change of mind. Though there is a lot to like about working here, and as with other companies there is also a lot to hate as well.
This is why I bought my own and leased to a small carrier. I had the right to refuse any load, for any reason. Find a good carrier with good freight. No mega carriers for me!
Yea I was an owner operator/ lease operator for 20 years before I came off the road in 2017 to work in the office. I just came back out in July 2023 and things have changed. Wish you all the best
The computer won't allow a trip planner to assign that load without an override. The driver wanted a golden triangle load, but ended up with a meth-land load.
I am finishing up my BA in Liberal Arts with concentration in Science I also have a degree in geography. I start my Masters in May. Was talking bout what assignments I was working on. One is my 8-10 page paper on the gospel of Matthew and the other is my 20-30 pages senior research paper on the effects of poverty on our educational system
These trucking companies really need to hire ex drivers as driver leads with at least 10 years of OTR experience and remove the unrealistic performance metrics
I would not say any company lease driver as there are a few company’s that pay percentage to their lease driver. And I also know a couple here at swift that bring home 2500+ a week.
Yes, first pick a couple different companies you would like to go to work for and do some research, watch videos, call the recruiters now and see who will talk to you before you have obtained your CDL. And ask them all the questions you have, if they are not willing to talk with you right now then they are not the right company for you. Do your research watch videos and talk to drivers if possible but remember their experiences with the company is not going to be your experience as you will react differently while at the same time have different wants and needs. I chose Swift even with my experience because everyone I talked to even the recruiter seemed to care about what I wanted and not necessarily what the company needed and that meant a lot to me. Finally, enjoy the process and the adventure trucking is not for everyone but whether it's for you or not it is an amazing life journey meant to enjoy and have fun. Let me know if you have any question or just want more advice you can email me at mybadtrucking@gmail.com
Any tips for someone coming to swift? Looking at starting academy in Lewiston after the new year Can I reference your driver number ? I’m not type to jump around companies. I’m 40 years old and have had 2 jobs since I was 18 First job US Army Second job Coca Cola Only reason I’m leaving Coca Cola is because they are shutting down my location and moving production 150 miles down the road . And if I’m gunna sell the house and move I might as well do something different,
You will, it might take a little bit to get used to the best way to run for you and how to utilize your hours properly for the way you run. but it is possible. Good luck on your journey.
