@@FanZceneVids Then some of the older horror films, Revenge Of The Zombies(1943, sequel to King Of The Zombies, both starring Mantan Moreland, but John Carradine is the bad guy in the sequel) and Film Masters Night Of The Blood Beast(1958)/Attack Of Giant Leeches(1959) double feature aren't getting bluray releases until November, so Halloween is extended this year! I think Turner Classic Movies is even showing similar movies past Midnight on Halloween into the wee hours of the morning on November 1. So it's another year of post Halloween night horror movies being shown and getting released to bluray this year! :)
I can say with certainty that I am the type of horror fan who can watch horror films all year round, but in certain months I watch films of this type more often, depending on what I feel like as far as the category goes like a Slasher or Hammer Horror, but my favorite horror films are from the 70s, 80s and of course the 90s ❤ For me there is nothing better than the good old hand work of practical effects and a well written story that particularly comes from the 3 decades such as Jaws, The Thing, Candyman. There is a reason why such films have become cult films. I also had a phase in the past where a horror film can never be bloody enough but nowadays horror films have to be able to do more than just rely on splatter and gore. They also need the story and the characters and a lot more for me to get into them. John Carpenter has shaped my horror passion since my childhood because he simply had the talent to write atmosphere, tension, shock moments as well as characters that are not interchangeable. No idea what kind of horror genre survival horror is 😅🤷♂️ Godspeed 🤘🎃🤘
Exactly, yes I watch horror year round, sometimes more in certain times of year, and also movies from other genres as well. Nothing beats the classics or Carpenter, just too good. Movies nowadays are hit and a lot miss for me, but I agree got to have sine good story elements to get me. Godspeed and keep it horror 🤘🎃💿📼📀
I liked *_Split,_* but that got ruined by *_Glass._* *_The Conjuring_* is good, as is *_Alien._* I've never seen *_The Road,_* but it sounds "elevated." *_Scary Movie_* isn't even a Horror movie; it's a damn Spoof. It belongs nowhere on a Horror list.
I liked Split, but Glass definitely ruined it. Don't think the Conjuring movies are bad at all, just not my cup of tea. Exactly my thoughts on Scary Movie.
Horror has improved since the 30s; it's no longer sanitized. Technology and special effects have improved, too. However, the studios prefer CGI, which sucks.
Also @@FanZceneVids while I don't agree with this myself, I do feel there's a lot of people in the Horror community these days that consider "elevated" horror to be the next step of evolution for the Horror genre. As much as it's just a bunch of phycological art-house thrillers to me. I do like some but I don't like all of them and definitely consider something like Terrifier to be more of a next step in the evolution of the Horror genre than any elevated or art-house hour movie ever made to me. And the 2000s is such an underrated era!
@@BMovieTheater I'm not a fan of elevated horror at all. It doesn't feel like horror, just art house emotional slop. Yes I think movies like Terrifier are the next evolution of horror, it gives you something new with a familiar edge.
@@FanZceneVids Ya that's one of the things that I loved about Terrifier, so many things just felt fresh and new like I had never seen them done in a Slasher before which is very rare these days. You can just tell it's written by someone with a love for the genre. No idea what survival horror is though😂Sounds dumber than elevated horror unless they are getting video games and movies mixed up.
We have eight FT13 movies, nine if you count the reboot. Also Jason certainly isn't pure evil like Michael or whatnot, he absolutely has some scary/terrifying elements early on which were sorta left though which I could see being good to return to. Returning to the 80s is ideal for it I think unless it was a sequel.
Guess you forgot that I watched them last Halloween, made a video about how I actually liked them, and you even commented. Also my Spirit Halloween video from last year I show off my Terrifier shirt I bought there.
I found "Lost After Dark" to be pretty solid for an homage to the 80s slasher film, otherwise a pretty interesting selection somewhat more modern horror Movies 🎃 Maybe that could be a topic on your channel too, namely how do you best protect your films so that your favourite films are preserved for years to come? I also noticed with the Bluray cases that over time a kind of gas forms in the interior area. I don't know if you've had this experience yourself. Thanks and Godspeed 🤘
Lost After Dark was definitely pretty solid, I enjoyed it. Thought I'd go a different route and showcase a few newer movies I think are good. Nothing beats the classics, but nice to shine a light on some people may have not seen. I have not had that problem, hmm let me look into it 🤘🎃💿
You're right, very few new movies interest me, but when they took away redbox, I lose out on many. The free stuff you covered as free on Tubi and other streaming have newer stuff I can check out after they get older but the other day I just had to see Terrifier 3 and it was worth it. I like movies like Haunt and Hell Fest, but alot of older movies I still have not seen, so, they are new, same as music, whatever decades fits your fancy. Hollywood needs to kill the woke movement and get back to quality, so does Disney and everybody else. Independent is where it's at. You said it dude.
Solid interview. I very much enjoyed *_Hatchet 1-3_* and *_Frozen,_* but I just couldn't finish *_Victor Crowley._* It just didn't seem to have the same tone as the first three *_Hatchet_* flicks.
Well it's no wonder nobody pays to go to the movies anymore. 90% of the movies are absolute garbage. Listed as a horror movie. What a joke. It should be under porno. And a terrible one at that. This is our next generation of movies folks. Pretty soon theaters will be out of business. Bad bad acting.Thumbs down 3/10
Shout has been doing great transfers. Check out The Wolf Man. For those without 4k, the Shout release had a new, better transfer, supervised by the director and dp, than the WB release. It was going for $20 during their recent sale. Now I'm waiting to hear how the 4k of Drag Me to Hell compares to the previous Shout release.
