Welcome to Network Direction! Interested in learning about IT? Want to get ahead in your network engineering career? This is the right place for you!
On this channel, I discuss network fundamentals, networking, Cisco (CCNA & CCNP), Juniper Networks (JNCIA and Junos), network security, as well as other IT-related topics. Whether you are a beginner or you have been in the industry for years, you will find easy-to-understand videos on a range of topics to suit your skill set.
I have been working in IT for 20 years and have created this RU-vid channel as a way to help others learn from the experience I have had in the industry. I have a Masters Degree in Networking & Systems Administration, CCNP and JNCIA certifications, and actively share in the Cisco Learning Network as a Cisco VIP Ambassador.

I’ve done a lot of self directed learning online and I just want to say that you nailed it with the style of knowledge check at the end. Multiple choice questions don’t get me thinking about the subject the way that these short answer questions have.
As a network+ student I would like to thank you for clearly explainging the difference between QoS and CoS. And great to hear a fellow Aussie for a change. I hope you make more content.
Wasn't the breaking of data into chunks managed by the transport layer in the OSI model? Based on the equivalency between the 2 models, shouldn't the transport layer be responsible for breaking data in chunks? 7:01
Im currently studting CCNA at coursera and i dont understand any of them i feel like its too much information is being thrown in one topic. This is the best video i found. thank you so much for your effort making these videos.
Thanks for all your effort! I will be taking my CCNT in the next few weeks and your videos are thoroughly explained, this answers a lot of questions I had. Thanks again!
Awesome! I haven't done anything with networking since the mid-90s (Windows 95 era). I think it's time I started at the beginning again and see what I can learn.
Thank you so much! I've been working about 9 months in my new job as a Remote Service Engineer and I'm completely new to the field! I ve just had a couple of months of fullstack and database programming courses prior to that, so now I am trying to do what I can to build a good foundation of general IT knowledge. Your videos are really wonderful - thank you so much for sharing these with us!
Studying for my Network+. I have hours and hours of video content under my belt already, as well as a lot of stuff read and written down. This was the most comprehensive video I've seen on SNMP, definitely checking out your other stuff.
Hi Luke, would you say your Introduction to Networking video is a good enough prerequisite for the JNCIA? I was told the CCNA knowledge would be required before the JNCIA
