Welcome to 12MA Outdoors where timeless traditions meet modern ideas, and no question is a dumb question. Here I'll give you a real answers to some of the common questions you may run into when it comes to hunting and the outdoors.
This channel is born out of having simple questions, but finding out that experts like talking with other experts about expert stuff. It can be frustrating to walk into a pro shop - whether it be for hunting or any outdoor endeavor - and having that feeling as if your questions are unwelcome or inconveniencing the staff. And so from that feeling I decided to create a place where people could come to get simple answers to simple questions without having to worry about feeling belittled or out of place. So again, welcome to the channel, and never feel ashamed or scared to engage because I'm confident the engagement will get you to your answers quicker, so go check out the community. That said, I'll see you in the videos, and good luck in the woods!
Welcome back? We didn't go anywhere.. We get it, you have nothing worth saying to fill your time so you have to use a bunch of filler to get viewer engagement...
I picked up some 3RA Traditional Only arrows and had good luck with them. They also look great, but the wood grain does look a little fake, and also wears off the shaft after several hundred shots into some rather abusive targets. The front 2-1/2 inches is now almost pure black, fading into wood grain after a year. Ill pick a dozen of these shafts and see how the 350 vs 450s bare shaft tune with 225-275 grains up front.
Picked a half dozen 350s, put them together and shot them yesterday. The nocks are sightly larger than my Eastons (0.110" vs 0.1060" throat) so they were "snapping" a little on release, along with being under-spined for the point mass I borrowed from my 3RA Traditional 300s, combined with 80gr stainless insert/outsert supplied by Victory, sending the nock end flapping all over. Ill have to lighten up the point by almost 100gr and/or add footings to get these 350s to tune. And they don't come any stiffer. Also note, the shafts and fletchings are 27 grains heavier than my 3RA Traditional Only 300s. So the 3RA arrows are very stiff, while being larger diameter, an inch longer, while also being lighter than the Victory's. I will say, the Victory Trad arrows look beautiful. They are also a relative bargain as supplied with their stainless steel insert/outset.
I used this app back when it looked like this example. I subscribed to the pro version recently. BIG MISTAKE. Nothing like the early version(s), which did work. I still have NOT figured out how to select a piece of land and see who owns it and I have been screwing with this sob for 2 years. PLEASE,HOW ABOUT A REAL TRAINING VIDEO !!!! After, we are spending $25 a subscription and No support.
Thanks for the help. Very informative. I just started using the app and find this very helpful: I too am from the thumb of Michigan but more over by the Cass City area and I use the overlay to look for other state and hap land in the area. I think it is very helpful.
That's good - I'm glad I could help! That's awesome you're over in the thumb! I've since moved down to northern Oakland county, but the thumb still has a lot of my heart. Cass City is a beautiful spot! I really dig the Cass Rover quality inn that stretch of the river.
Thanks. I kinda thought prior to looking for a video that they would just be wrapped around and tied on. Though I think I shall use some old bow string as I think the zip ties are to wide and are flattening the whiskers down, hence why yours aren't taking on the pompom shape.
By the way, I’ve noticed a lot of US archery companies drop shipping stuff from Alibaba. Especially the accessories. You should check it out, you may save some money.
I actually did measure, but I'm not the type that gets worked up over the intricate details. As long as it's reliable, quiet and effective, then I'm good. So, that was pretty much the idea here; to be a quick and easy approach to accomplishing this project. Thanks for the engagement, though!
Hey Tim, here is the path for Android: tap on the arrow at the top to show all of your hunt areas >tap "manage hunt areas" > tap on the dropped pin description box you want to delete > tap on delete. Without seeing what phone you have, it may be kinda difficult to give exact directions, but it should be close to that.
I was able to get the terrace tool to work that way, but I only tried it for a short period of time because it was killing my battery quicker. I don't see why it wouldn't work in the dark because GPS will work in the dark okay.
True although the right translation would have been petit gibier....those translations are often a bit off. Probably packaging meant to allow sales in Quebec
@@samleeroy5638 It's to allow sales in Canada. Guide to the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act and Regulations 2.1.2 Language Subsection 6(2) Regulations The product identity must be shown in English and French. In some cases a product identity declaration is bilingual in and of itself, such as "cologne" or "serviettes".
@@12maoutdoors70 sure thing im a french canadian. Learned english while i was arround 7 or 8. Im still destroying and mixing words but im fluent enought not to bother.
Already a sub bro, and bell tagged too. Did you end up subscribing to my channel too? Im shooting water jugs tomorrow broad head vs field point, 10 jugs for each, my guess is 6 jugs penetration for both arrows. I find the inserts slow the arrow! Ie black mambas are nearly unbreakable but they dont penetrate like a victory vap tko, check out my vid demonstrating this on a car door.
Yeah, I feel like you're like many other people in that regard. Small game hunting in general isn't as popular as deer, and then with a bow is even less popular. What types of things do you like to hunt?
I love victory arrows, the vap tko in particular is my favorite its super tough with awesome penetration, pretty indestructible too, trust me i destroy arrows. Nice review.
Thanks, I appreciate the positive feedback! Yeah, I've been impressed so far. What game are you using them on mostly? Or is it practicing that's the demise of most of them?
What caliber and brand? Looks like a Savage? I have hunted for a few years myself, but only a couple outings a year. This year I went over a couple dozen times. Learned more and finally called in my first Yote to shoot. Called in 2, on different hunts, only got a shot at the one. Good luck .
You nailed it! It's a Savage Axis 22-250. What have been the most noticeable things you've learned from your experiences so far? Any obvious changes that made the difference? By the way, thanks for the comment - I love hearing what people learn and taking tips where I can! I have this one dog I've called in twice in the same location, but he keeps busting me; it's becoming a sort of rivalry, haha.
I just bought a 25 Walking Varminter by Savage. Haven't gotten any with it yet. 22-250 looks to be the most popular caliber among Yote hunters. I wanted a gun with less pelt damage, hopefully. I noticed that pup in distress is the call that brought them in for me. I keep using rabbit and other distress calls, but throw in the pup in distress after a few minutes of calling too. I wanted to kill more at my house, so I really hunted there a lot, I am pretty sure by over calling and hunting here, they got call shy, that is one thing you should think about. I didn't get up early enough either, mid morning calling in my neck of the woods might not be that good either. I bought Wicked night lights for my gun and head. Hoping that helps. Had someone that has a lot of luck tell me he has a lot more success at night.
The 25 Walking Varminter is a nicer gun than the Axis - awesome choice! I like the idea of the AccuTrigger; how have you liked that feature so far? As far as the over calling... yeah, I try and only call once per month at each stand to limit what they recognize. That's cool that you've had luck with the pup in distress. What brand call?
Just a cheap call by Foxpro. Patriot. But I like it. The gun is a 204 Ruger caliber they call it. I like the gun, it is smooth. The bolt works really easy. I really am not sure about any difference with the trigger because you have that pull on a regular trigger once you get past the light pull. I like the detachable clip, It only holds 3 in it, but shooting at a running Yote doubt I will get that many off in the areas I hunt.
Elite Bowman Hey... cheap doesn't necessarily mean junk - I agree! I use an icotec GC300. The cost was like $70, and it's been working great so far. I thought you were saying that you are currently using the Savage which has the AccuTrigger. The Ruger is nice, too, no doubt!
