It's not a mystery to those who'll go to heaven. Nor to those who'll dwell in the bottomless pit. It's real science. Something they don't teach you at school.
“it only takes minutes for it to develop into an f5” no it did not. near the end of its life, it did damage seen usually by f5 tornadoes because the windspeed of the elie tornado kept changing, and at that point it was at its strongest
David Johnston one of the first to see eruption. He saw this spume of lava approaching him at 400 mph and grabbed his phone to yell and warn This Is It!!.....before dying. He wasn't even supposed to be there then. He was substituting for a friend
It's a landspout tornado. They're typically not very strong and they don't move very fast. The guy was still very much in danger, but it's less wildly dangerous than if it were part of a rotating super cell.
Left out a few things. He had a sleeping bag with him. It wasn't a winter bag, but it was still very smart to bring. He also tried to clear out his car on a daily basis so he wasn't buried, and could be visible from the air. He was also walking laps around it to warm up each day. Near the car was a stream, it was mostly frozen, but a couple afternoons it melted just enough for him to be able to use his coffee cup and water bottle to replenish water. He did think about trying to walk out one day, but after getting about 100 yards as a test, thought better of it and wisely went back to the car. Another big key is despite this ordeal he remained calm, tried to keep optimistic that someone would rescue him.
Shackleton, Worsley and a handful of men traversed the southern ocean in basically a 22ft whale boat. It doesn’t look like much more than a lifeboat. The most insane survival story of all time.
That was Mrs.Walton and her Son. I was under the bridge at I-35 and Shields on May3rd and watched the young lady from Marlow Oklahoma fly by me. Her husband was the first person that I encountered after the tornado passed by. We just had a ledge to lay on. No gurders
My family and I visited Mt. St. Helens years after this explosion, and I was excited to see it and oblivious to the massive power of Mother Earth. The I saw trees which had been ripped out of the ground 12-15 miles away, and I saw the films and her the accounts. At that point, I could not leave fast enough.
