For anyone new looking for a better/more updated video, Negative Legend has a much more in depth video(though he does it with a weird voice for some reason). The sub reddit FoWtcg also has ALL of the information you need to start getting into the game, as well as links to all of the biggest FoW youtubers and all updates. This video is very vague and dated. Many things have changed since this came out. The game is a lot of fun and not terribly difficult to learn, especially if you've played MTG. Please give it a chance!
After I watched a basic rules video this was a pretty well done follow up I looked up, being able to see how the game actually plays out was very helpful
if someone blocked a resenator then used yggdrasil"s memoria to recover that resonator and block again. would his resenators def. replenish after every recover. or just the recovery step
If i can shuffle any number of cards into my deck and redraw until i get what i want, why dont i just begin with the 5 cards that i look through my deck and choose?
What? You don't redraw until you get what you want. You only redraw the number of cards you put at the bottom of your deck. For example: we both draw our 5 cards. Then we look at them choose what ones we don't want ( say I don't want two) put them at the bottom of the deck then redraw what we put back ( I would redraw two cards from the top of my deck). Then the match begins, you can only do this once at the start of a match.
@@cutthroatz904 The video makes it seem likes there no limit to the number of times you can do this. That's why he said why don't you just start with any hand you want.
very new to this game and trying to understand what was going on in the video. when the trap card was played, "clockwork apple bomb", how come it didn't do 500 damage to both players ? Am i reading it wrong, destroy both creatures and 500 damage to both players ?
I came to the comments to see if anyone else had asked this. I'm sad you never got a reply. I'm a new player, and I was understanding this the same way you were. It seems as though 500 damage should have been done to both players when this resolved.
thank you i read alot on how to play but it was hard to get a feel on the flow you demonstrated it well enough to pick up for people who read the rule book
man what i wouldnt give for that alice fairy queen or dark alice :(. i opened 2 full booster boxes soo far and only got a sylvia in one and a refrain in the other non stamped. man i wish i was lucky as you. but i love force of will and will continue to support it and its community either way :)
can someone help me i am not quite sure i just recently picked up this tgc with a friend...when u attack someone lets say ur resonator has 1000ATK/1000DEF and the target has 500ATK/500DEF the target is obviously destroyed...but does the first resonator still have 1000DEF or does it go down to 500DEF? and if so does the DEF stay down like this or just until its rested again? or is it simply like ygo where my resonator would just let be at 1000ATK/1000DEF?
I love how beautiful your mat you made Mr. Wednesday, and I really want a copy of the mat you made. I'm making a copy of the mat you made and hope you don't get too upset.
+nekochen more like hoping here, this game technically doesnt need a media like anime/manga because part of the thing about this game is finding out the story(s) through the cards
I'm not too bothered by it, but these guys seem to be putting their cards in different layouts on the table. It might be easier for more people to learn the game (and get interested in it!) if a specific layout for where certain cards are placed on the table is streamlined.
So how do you play? You mention magic stone deck/area and I have no idea what those are. Are they like mana, and we tap them to play cards? What is a ruler? How many cards per deck? Are there phases like mtg that we must follow? Are there life totals? Can we attack those directly? Can we attack heroes directly? Just some questions to learn the game.
Eric Harrell Having watched the video and never played the game I can tell you most of this. Magic Stone deck has FoW's equivalent of land cards, which are just in a seperate deck of their own. They can be placed ina zone below said deck by tapping(resting) your Ruler card. Tapping them then allows you to play cards from hand, same as MtG. The Ruler is a character card, so you keep it in it's own location(and presumably build your deck around it) and it typically stays there withou being subject for attack or destruction. At their most basic they just allow access to Magic Stones by resting, but can rest for their own effect or become a special type of Resonator(the creature/monster card of this game). The phases are fairly fluid from what I can tell, except maybe standby, for untapping(and probably some effects) and draw, which you start with. I think you can perform a battle stage when desired. Doesn't look like direct attack is an option. 4000 is the life total.
