biggest regret is not adopting my daughter earlier. nobody can take away an adoption. not even "the grandparents".. also they wont lose any social security benefits when they are adopted. skip the line. skip the hassle of court with the grandparents and apply for adoption. they cant make a move against you when you adopt, as they are no longer the grandparents of the child. i had to google this for months doing research.
And what I don’t get is how, when the parent knows there is a custody order already in place and they violate it, it’s no longer a family law issue but a criminal one. They broke a criminal law… Literally. Why would you first file a motion through the same people who failed you and your kids the first time, the same people the ex disobeyed willfully? I am so confused by this logic. This system makes zero sense. What is the point of going back to court only for them to get put back on the street so to speak, to do it again and again, which is what my ex does. What is the point of “laws” if you’re unwilling to actually enforce them when they’re violated and broken? Now it’s gone from interfering with a few hours here and there to outright withholding them for months at a time. Nobody does anything about it.
What if this happens over the weekend? That’s exactly what my ex did, knowing I wouldn’t be able to get a hold of anyone like lawyer etc. and he knew police would say it’s a civil matter and wouldn’t step in. So what do you do then?

it’s all so disgusting and unfair. I have been taking care of my son his whole life, raising and supporting him the last 6 years.
