that is a very good question. I would have to say yes i have that problem so many rods for some many different ways of fishing. I have some that are my favorite ones that i use allot even when I am not making videos. The main thing is having the right one for what you intend on doing. There are some things with rods though were it's not just luck. Thank you for this question it's a good one.
I fished there and a little further up last week when flows were near 800cfs. Caught a few small ones and a skinny 16"er, all on a size 16 grey walts worm which if it mimics anything might be caddis. I did see a few caddis and no other insects and no rises. Come on flows, go down! And, way to go, bro!
@johnlaudenslager706 it's great the ups and downs adapting to the conditions, I went out the other day and threw drys for 3 hours nothing switched to just a leech boom it might just be me. Thanks John always good seeing you guys out, stay safe out there.
Natural born fish on every cast! No breakoffs that I saw! Way to go, bro. Dean is off to DeWeese to fish in the cool and I may have to go to the tailwater again and maybe catch more than the one I caught friday 😆
the mountains are calling it was a great day out, if you can make it threw the heat check out grape creek its pretty good. good luck out there and safe travels.
@user-uq6nt1ui4t they really only stock 10inchers here in Colorado but sometimes they throw the Bruders back too. I only eat trout once they get over 17 inches only need 1 to have a good dinner. Thank you for commenting and good luck next time you get out.
Nice! I was able to net one brown on the Weber in Utah just nymphing with my dragon tail 12ft. Wow I keep finding rapalas on the river I guess some things are similar any place you fish 🐟. What is your set up ! Trophy rainbow awesome
The setup was the TN Provo keuryu rod with a homemade step down leader, 20lb RIO dacron for main line the step down leader uses 2/3rd the rod length of main line then 14 to 18 inch sections of tippet either 0x-2x-4x or 1x-3x-5x to the fly witch was one I tie on a size 14 3x long jig hook and just black marabou it's simple and works great. Hope this is what you were asking for, thanks you for commenting.
@c.cabanilla8963 it's been working for me for a long time, the backing has a good cast or roll to it you can also wax the main line to make it a little stiffer.
@c.cabanilla8963 running that amount of main line nymphs rather well and the length of the leader is good for spooky fish or deep water using the main line to leader connections as a sighter too.
Always wet your hands and keep the fish wet in the water in the net, best way to not hurt them and use barbless hooks too. If your planning on releasing them try to do your best. If your taking them home do as you see fit. Thank you commenting
There all pretty good, I always am using the medium rubber one. Just depends on usage if your a boater I would suggest one with a longer handle. Hard part is figuring out a way to attach it to yourself.
Great video Justin!! Nice fish! I’ve always wanted to try fly fishing! I make fishing videos too and I always love watching yours!! Keep up the awesome job mate!! 🤜🤛💪
Thanks fly fishing is easy to learn once you know where to start learn about bugs you see and what flies to use the most important part is the cast. Thank you for watching.
@@Wedge_designer the bass are there and the catfish love fresh uncooked shrimp, there is also allot of carp in there so might bring a can of corn for fun. Good luck and stay safe out there.
that question can be answered by the division of wild life who have shocked this river and removed all the other species except trout and brown trout and some suckers. there are a few other fish in here but only small amounts of them small mouth walleye larger mouth bass carp and catfish.
NICE video of high flow fishing! Makes me think I should get the spinning rod out, put a jig on and prospect slow water along the banks and not pass up any feeder creeks. Really enjoyed the video. Make more, please.
Amazing, you caught larger fish on this video, than I have in my lifetime... great job. I'll check your jig making video, although a bit late in my life to try that.
thank you, im sure you'll get a big one some day. It's never to late to try something new most of the fish i catch on jigs is when i slow it down bumming the bottom there looking for leaches and minnows.
ok i will have to start making a list, i have been to a few of those places already but long before i was making videos. thank you for the suggestions and for watching.
hey man, been watching your vids for a couple of weeks now. Ill be in colorado the first week of July for a week and will be taking my tenkara rod. Do you have any spot recommendations to check out while Im out there?
@@LuisHernandez-ln2cd ok there is allot of action in that area, the south platte has lots of fish and so does clear creek the flows are high right now making it a little harder. the easiest way of finding fish these days for me is using this go to google and type in (colorado fishing atlas) it will give you a map of locations that you can zoom in on and check locations for what kind of fish are in there or have been stocked there. lots of place to search threw, most of the same flies that work in NM work just as good here prince nymphs, midges and so on there is also quiet a few fly shops in denver too they also might be able to point a few flies out and where to use them. I hope this helps you out on your adventure.
