I support TWU Local 100 workers! Transit workers deserve so much more, and the MTA and the city only cares about the bottom line. It’s criminal. My dad was a Conductor back in the bad old days. He was assaulted with a 2x4. It shouldn’t have happened then and it shouldn’t happen now.
As the son of a NYC Transit Conductor who was also assaulted by a rider. I stand with all TWU Local 100 workers. They deserve a safe working environment free from violence. New York City government, the MTA, the Governor..they allow these pieces of garbage to skirt the law and get off with a slap on the wrist. It’s wrong. Something needs to be done and it needed to be done yesterday..

Why was the station agent on the platform with a flashlight trying to remove a man who was sleeping under a bench? Is she out of her mind to even attempt such a thing ? She put her self in danger just by trying to engage in any sort of confrontation with this violent person. She’s lucky she got pushed into a train on station and not right onto the tracks. If she is required to walk around and inspect the station including the platform, She should have just reported him at the location and went back to her booth whether inside or outside the booth where she belongs. Let the do nothing police handle any of these homeless bums,degenerates or violent people laying out on the platforms.
This is why CTA's need gate keys. MTA needs to close the system. Right now it's an open system where anyone can enter the unpaid Mezzanine. It needs to be a closed system where everyone needs to pay just to enter the stations. The turnstile needs to scan for weapons like at the airport. The transit system needs to be more like the airport system.
So we're paying for jobs that don't need to exist and for operators who endanger passengers' lives TWICE to keep driving buses. Great. You guys realize anyone can watch these right?
Am I gonna go home to my family. These ppl forget we are human. We are not maids. The ones who do the most do not pay and there lies the problem. The ones that pay don’t want problems, they want to get to work or home at a reasonable time. Plenty who pat can’t even get a seat because the ones who don’t rush through the back door. Plenty of problems for those that don’t pay.
Drivers are also treat people in a very aggressive way. Not all but the ones they do that are responsable for the rest who are kind and nice. One time i was about to take the road and a bus just suddenly at a high speed almost run over me, just to get to the bus stop. The prick bus driver was looking at me on the mirror it was a mean female driver. Respect wins respect. And those kind of attitudes dont win nothing but hate.😊
Indian Railways provides some of the best psychological help to all its train drivers... only then those ppl are able to control the impact of such a trauma... I am shocked these rich nations of the west don't have mental health/ptsd related issues....
