Good video! File this one under Philosophy of Baseball. My two cents: As a Braves fan in the 90s, it was painful to watch them lose so many times in the World Series. This led me to believe the following should be factors: -High regular season record -Persistent pennants year after year -Not a wild card team My takeaway: If you have a great record and are always competitive, then you are deserving. Side note: Playoffs are one thing that i don't like about American sports. It's because it demotes the regular season to be more like an extended spring training. No one game actually matters. That a team could in theory go undefeated and still not be the "champion" is kind of crazy. Equally, a wild card (the worst team of the playoffs) can be the champ. Still, I agree that it's fun and refreshing when a new team becomes the champ.
If my Red Sox aren’t in it, I’m going for the team that’s never won or the longest drought. The Cubs is a top 5 World Series imo. Poor Padres won’t have a shot the next 10 years vs LA lol
I am a die-hard Braves fan, but they were scared to play in Philly. They didn't act like the #1 seed. I thought it would be the Braves and Astros in the World Series.
1. Dodgers 2. Orioles 3. Braves Dodgers shouldve beaten the D-Backs, but got caught napping. The Orioles bullpen failed them hard. The Braves didn't hit, but we're facing legit top tier starters.
Dodgers losing to the D-Backs was the worst for sure, but no one expected LA to get to the world series with the starting pitching issues they had. Meanwhile everyone was already basically crowning the Braves as WS champs.
