What a GREAT video!! Superb guys. You break down something that few discuss or can articulate properly. You do it in an objective manner with facts and examples. Insane!!

Great lesson, great hair! Hitting from a closed stance in this situation also locks hips limiting their rotation and power, and opening the door to injury. Ask me how I know.

Which would be the best type of return in a doubles game? Slice usually gets poached obviously.

Nice! Another tip my coach just said is before you start, you should close your stance a lot so your non hitting shoulder is almost pointing towards the right net post (on ad side)

Very interesting video. So the reason I’m “shanking” and bobbling a lot of balls is because I’m not predicting where the balls are going?

That’s 100% me 😂. I played beach tennis and volleyball for years and as a result I hurt my shoulder and elbow, so now I feel the pain every time I serve or strike with a backhand. I can’t figure out how to relax I’m always tight.

At some point in this video, I thought I was watching a science video 🤣 I still enjoyed it and learned a lot about it. I played Beach Tennis and Volleyball so I did not have to follow the ball all the way to my arm or request when I hit it, now I am finding myself hitting the frame of the racquet because I look at the target as the ball gets closer to me. Thanks for confirming what I thought I was doing wrong and I will report back after a few practices. Thanks bud! 👍

Do real pros really think this deeply about their grip? Isn't it instinctual to them based on timing, considering incoming ball (speed, height, spin) their positioning, balance and prepping for the next shot?

nooo ! :) it is even more simple ! shoulders straight (o the target) , from begining to the end stiffed arm ( the most you can ^^^) from start to the end. the front shoulder ( back muscle) is the main spring of it all ! you have your hammer :)

The key to his serve is his left arm, which points the back of the court so he gets massive body rotation.
