Hmmm, Trials…”like those trials” says the doctor. If these doctors REALLY KNOW these drugs DESTROYS your life s l o w l y… You lose your QUALITY of life. It is Not worth the journey. I know my partner of 31 years was diagnosed with Glioblastoma 4. Surgery was not possible. He had one the size of a walnut center of brain. He had another one on his frontal lobe. From diagnosis till death 9 months. I cared for him from beginning till death. He had to take dexamethasone because of edema. He took high doses for a long period of time. Near the end all he would say, “I’m tired, I want to go home”. Yes, we hope we can survive cancer however, the truth the medicines eventually the chemicals (medicines) WILL get you.

I’m sorry, but Decadron is an evil drug. It led to my mother’s demise. They kept telling her she needed to get stronger before they would treat her with either immunotherapy or chemo, but she couldn’t get stronger because the steroid depleted all her muscle strength. She could barely walk, let alone exercise, because the steroid caused extreme weakness, which kept her bed bound, which compounded the muscle atrophy in her legs, which worsened her weakness…ensuring she’d never get better. She never did get strong enough to commence treatment and she died very quickly because of the doctors’ very poor knowledge of how to take care of patients and how to HEAL them. They have a shitty rusty toolbox filled with broken tools, and they think they’re helping patients with all their drugs. Hospitals are THE place to go if you want to die. You know, there ARE other things one can do to reduce brain swelling, but too many people put all of their eggs in the allopathic basket because they get sucked into the ‘standard of scare’.

My mom was overall very healthy until late December ‘23 and was suffering headaches, loss of balance, falling, and a few other motor symptoms. It got bad very fast and we ended up taking her to the ER in the beginning of January to find out that she had Grade IV GBM in her right frontal lobe. She had it surgically removed middle of January and is now completely back to normal, even better in some ways luckily. She was given a prognosis of 10 months to 3 years and is set to start chemotherapy and radiation towards the end of February. I’m hoping she can make it to the 3 year mark or hopefully surpass the 3 year mark.. She’s only 57 and I can’t imagine losing her at my age of 24..

My dad is currently 67 yrs old. He recently beat stage 4 lung cancer that the doctors didn't think he would. He went to chemo once a week a radiation 5 days a week that targeted both sides of his lungs. He is very sensitive to medications and is allergic to a lot of them. He had the worst allergic reaction to the first chemo that they tried giving him the nurses and the doctor said. He had every allergic symptoms there was. At this time I had never seen my daddy more afraid nor have I ever seen him in so much pain. They changed his meds I believe twice and then he seemed to be doing okay. But the radiation and chemo destroyed his heart. He has 20% heart function now. And recently he was diagnosed with stage 4 glio blasfema. What can i do to keep him safe? I am the one who takes care of him. I haven't been able to work since he had his lung cancer

Question on the slide of MGMT promoter: how is hypermethylated, responsive or not? I also see lots of clinical trials just identified as either but not hyper, is there a way to identify this as well? Lastly, the molecular testing- I did genetic testing and gave the results plus the information from pathology would all of that be found in those two tests?
@revolutioncancer6610
@revolutioncancer6610 6 месяцев назад
There are trials that will specify unmethylated MGMT versus methylated/hypermethylated. If it doesn't say unmethylated then it likely correponds to either all comers or methylated/hypermethylated. It depends on the molecular testing they did. The testing in house pathology labs do is relatively limited, but if your test was sent elsewhere (e.g. FoundationMedicine, Tempus, Caris) then you likely had full next generation sequencing, PD-L1, TMB, and MSi.

Hello Doc, thanks you so much for sharing this informative presentation with us. My mother was diagnosed with gbm grade 4 in this march 2023 and had her peritoneal left lobe surgery right after. She has gone through standard treatment that is radiation + chemo (TMZ) and 6 cycles of chemo. Around mid of dec she showed cognitive loss symptoms she could barely talk or understand things. Her right side movements were also very limited. We took her to a neurosurgeon and he prescribed her with dexa drug for 15 days. Again after 15 days she’s having same symptoms. I’m very scared if this disease has progressed. recent MRI shows increased residual mass/recurrence. Going by your advice I’ll check with doc if we can go with functional MRI. The doc who did her first surgery in march advised to go through another operation to remove residual tumour and implant glidal vafour. After taking several opinions from other doctors we did not go for surgery. Now I wonder if I should have done that. I’ll get her NGS as soon as possible but here in India there are not many clinical trials that are ongoing. The doctors we have met so far haven’t suggested any. Maybe as we were in first line of treatment. I really want to talk about this with in you in detail. Could you please provide your contact details. I’m desperate here to do anything for her at this point. Doc please help. After watching your video I’ve got some hope. Please help! Please!

My dad has this cancer. It took an immense toll on him psychologically. He couldn't accept that one day he was living his normal life and then out of blue he had to have brain surgery and he had only 15 months to live. His tumor was in right motor cortex allowing for relatively easy surgery. And after completion of surgery plus radiation he was back to normal. But, the disease recurred again and again, soon, treatment was having worse effects than cancer. While he was on Avastin+Irinotecan he had a minor seizure then after second radiation cycle a monumental one. The seizure lasted for hours, and he never recovered from the effects. His movement on the left side was completely gone, his speech impaired. He was constantly delirious and disoriented. Most of it was likely an effect of chemo, radiation and the extremely powerful antiepileptic medication he was put on. At the time, as per MRI, the recurrent tumor had reduced in size, but his mental and physical faculties were irrevocably impaired. As of today, he is in deep coma for a month, the tumor has spread to every part, it is almost 600cc in volume. His body struggles, as he was absolutely healthy, but the mind has departed. It is the most cruel illness! If I had this cancer, I would spend time with my family rather than waste the precious little time I had thinking about ten lines of treatment. Those scary numbers are distillation of facts and there is no evidence that the 10 percent who survive beyond five years have had any special treatment. The opportunity cost of chasing useless treatments is too high.
@revolutioncancer6610
@revolutioncancer6610 7 месяцев назад
I am so sorry about your father. I can appreciate your sentiments. Everyone needs to figure out if the "juice is worth the squeeze" for themselves. There is no universal answer to this question. However, the hope is that we will get better GBM treatments through all the ongoing clinical trials and that the 10% number will increase substantially in the future. With that said, it's true that so much in life, and cancer care in particular, is beyond our control as human beings. We can't "make a treatment work". All we can do is optimize our chances of doing well and that's what we strive for. We control what we can control. It sounds like your father, you and your family, and his doctors did everything right. I'm really sorry it turned out this way.

Can you please do an evaluation and comment on "metabolic therapy" for the treatment of cancer? A new 5-part documentary series "CanceR/evolution" is getting ready to air soon. Trailers, excerpts, and patient testimonial interviews can be found on the CanceR/evolution RU-vid channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5Jf3CUcp5UA.htmlsi=BUWv0ZXGQ4VmGK9p The series is about the science and treatment of cancer (all types) with "metabolic therapy", a term and treatment approach developed by Dr Thomas Seyfried, PhD of Boston College over several decades of research. The underlying science and metabolic cause of cancer is explained by Dr Jason Fung, MD in his book "The Cancer Code". An easy-to-read book written in layman's terms that explains the history of cancer and its nature as a metabolic disease, rather than a genetic disease. As Dr Fung and Dr Seyfried explain, cancer is not a genetic disease in the first instance. In the first instance, cancer is a metabolic disease originating in the cell mitochondria that have been damaged by chronically high levels of blood sugar (glucose) and insulin. The genetic aspect of cancer is a secondary downstream consequence of mitochondrial damage caused by sugar and insulin in the first instance. Metabolic therapy involves a low carbohydrate diet (to lower the levels of glucose and insulin) and fasting to lower the level of AMPK (Adenosine Monophosphate-activated Protein Kinase) an enzyme that works with glucose and insulin to promote cancer cell growth. It also includes a “Press-Pulse” drug therapy to cyclically and temporarily lower the level of the glutamine (an amino acid). As Dr Fung and Dr Seyfried explain all cancer is fueled by the fermentation of glucose and/or glutamine. Cancer cannot metabolize ketones as an energy source, whereas normal healthy cells thrive on ketones derived from dietary fat and/or stored body fat. In the absence of glucose and glutamine cannot survive. The CanceR/evolution series features both Dr Seyfried and Dr Fung and others involved with the development and application of metabolic therapy. It has been shown to be highly effective in treating and indefinitely managing various types of stage 4 cancers, including glioblastomas after other types of cancer treatment have proven to be ineffective. Many in-depth interviews with Dr Thomas Seyfried on the science and development of metabolic therapy to be found on RU-vid. Dr Seyfried is working on writing the detailed medical protocol to be proposed as a new standard of care for the treatment of cancer. Metabolic therapy is not an either/or approach to cancer treatment. It is an additional adjunct complementary cancer therapy that works hand-in-hand with conventional surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.
