The best version of the original Twinbee's soundtrack, bar none.

To this day I still can't agree with that clipping pop of a "kick drum" but everything else is so good that I don't mind too much.

This game has some amazing music! A lot of the tracks from Super Bomberman 3 are taken from this game & SBM 1, while others (like Winterland) are taken from Bomberman '93. I'll list the ones I know. (Please note that "SBM" is referring to the Super Bomberman games). Super Bomberman 1 also uses some TG-16 Bomberman tracks which were then later used in SBM 3. Title Screen - Used in SBM 1. Player Out - Used in SBM 3 (Super Bomberman 5 uses a similar version, but it sounds pretty different to SBM 3 & TG-16 Bomberman.) Stage Start - Used in SBM 3, 4 & 5 (and maybe a ton of others.) BGM 1 - Used for... quite a lot of games (and I mean just Bomberman games in general) BGM 2 - Used for Area 2 (TG-16 BM, SBM 1 & SBM 3). This version sounds closer to SBM 3. BGM 3 - Similar case to BGM 2. It's used for Area 3 in this game, SBM 1 and SBM 3. BGM Invincibility - Self-explanatory. Is also used for the Final Area in Super Bomberman 3. Unused BGM 1 - Boss theme in SBM 3 & 4. Unused BGM 2 - Final Boss theme in SBM 3 & major bosses in SBM 4. Unused BGM 3 - I think this was a remix for the title screen in NES Bomberman? (Please correct me if I'm wrong) Stage Clear - Used in SBM 3, 4 & 5 (3 & 4 are EXACTLY the same, while 5's is an arranged version). Staff Roll - Is used for the Ending Demo in SBM 3. VS Competition - Was used for bonus stages in SBM 4, and it *might* have been used in SBM 3. (I'm not entirely sure, but I think this was also used somewhere in SBM 1? I'm probably wrong.) VS Victory - Is used in SBM 5 after you beat the final boss and clear the game. VS Championship - Used in SBM 3 & 5 (& maybe 2?). It serves the same purpose as it does in this game. VS Draw - Used in SBM 3 & 4 (Is technically used in 5 as well, but it sounds *very* different). Interestingly, I looked at this game on The Cutting Room Floor, and it says there are actually 2 MORE unused themes, which would make 5 in total. A slower Game Over theme, and a different death ("Player Out") theme.

This game's music, along with most of Hudson's other music on the PC Engine, is a testament to the staying power of the wavetables of Namco's arcade games.

hey can you guess what 10 tracks manami matsumae composed for esper dream 2?
@72WaysToBlastAChip
@72WaysToBlastAChip 22 дня назад
Since she is uncredited again in the soundtrack, and I looked up w.atwiki.jp have no confirmed credits about Manami Matsumae, and my guessing ability totally sucks, so, idk

@72WaysToBlastAChip 22 дня назад
@bubexpress5435 Yes, both Shigemasa Matsuo and Manami Matsumae worked on Esper Dream 2's music score, but Konami uncredited Matsumae even she did the some tracks which makes confirming her credits of her music in the game even harder

@@bubexpress5435 Actually you are right, I missed the part where Tsutomu Ogura only did the sound effects, the credit thing from Konami is usually not easy to find because of the "Konami Kukeiha Club" thing. Sorry I was multitasking at the time, I couldn't focus at the time and my brain was on auto-pilot mode

Real shame this was the only game to use the Konami SCC with a sample chip unless you count the Haunted Castle hardware.
@72WaysToBlastAChip

Not only Haunted Castle, games like City Bomber and Kitten Kaboodle are both used SCC and PCM sample chip, but they only used like 2 channels of the SCC wavetable channel.

Where did the composer credits come from? It's something I've always been wracking my brain trying to figure out while listening.
@72WaysToBlastAChip
@72WaysToBlastAChip Месяц назад
They are from the Game Music Best 100 category of Atwiki.jp (the whole website is in Japanese). In later time, some composers confirmed the credits of their music, or the other composer in the team at the time, confirmed the credits of the scores. Some enthusiastic people in Japan dug out the confirmed credits from those composers on the internet and other sources. However some of them were not yet to be confirmed, and that’s why I left some of the credits blank in the timestamps due to their credits remaining unknown.

There are two officially arranged songs named "Coloring" (rearranged of "Battle Ship") and "Sacrifice" (rearranged of "Dust·Dust·Dust") which are made with the sound chips of the game, but they are CD soundtrack exclusive which is can't be found within the game files. If you guys love Space Manbow music I suggest you go check out the CD soundtrack version, they are nice btw. EDIT: "Coloring" was arranged by Yuji Takenouchi (TECHNOuchi), according to the man himself

I honestly wish I knew how they did the wavetable morphing on the SCC. I'd love to try it myself someday.
@vuurniacsquarewave5091
@vuurniacsquarewave5091 4 дня назад
Yeah is it done by code, or are all those waveforms stored somewhere in the game? The SCC was pretty cool in that way, the PC-Engine or GB Wave channel aren't exactly easy to change the wave on while it is being played.
