Great video. I'm in the middle of having my '78 3 liter rebuilt. Where are you sending the fan on the 3.2 to be restored? I've had the fan and housing vapor blasted on my motor, and would like to send them out to be restored and Cerakoted. I'm in northern Cal. Thanks!
man thats a great Video. I am currently suffering through my project and since i am a restoration-rookie its nice to see some details - how things supposed to look and how you treat this and that. Good learning right there. Thx and cheers from Berlin
14:48 I have had nothing but problems with 3m77, 80 and 90. Always debonding in heat. You need DAP landau top adhesive. You can put it in a little jar and brush it on. All upholsterers use this product.
Having built my fair share of conventional engines, I lost count at the things I learned about Porsche's engines in this video. 7 main journals for 6 pistons? Is it any wonder Porsche can run up the RPM range and be so smooth and resilient? Had I known how beautifully designed these engines are, I would have had me one back in the day. Which would have invariably led me down a rewarding rabbit hole. Magnificent. Thank you for the video.
@@havasuporsche Agreed. Most conventional-engine builders are used to , "line up the dots" and that is that. Cam timing is not hard. Just has to be learned. And its the proper way to install a race cam in a conventional engine too.
i guess i should say how many times did u have to move the pins to get it within specs? and am i gonna need more than a dial indicator and a rig to tension the chain?
The little cock syndrome is so prevalent here I should start a business resizing tools😂But I have to say watching some of these boats ripping up river was an awesome display of jackassery. At least there’s enough common sense to not put it on during summer when boating season is in full swing. I’ll give them credit for that. They should close the the river off for a day and have races from Topoc to Laughlin. Now that would be badass!!
Very informative video. thank you dave. also, like 69baywindow, can you give me info on that lift? i'm in the process of restoring my 67 912 and want to save my knees.
