@@davidkaplan5517 I have used for astrophotography mostly a 24 MP Camera and for animal shots a higher MP Camera. You can get good results with both cameras. But if you get the chance to buy a cheap A7RIII, go for it. It is one of the best cameras I have ever used so far.
Many thanks for the comparison. Maybe its me but the Tamron looks like have much more focus breathing...Ithat makes the Sony better for video...Am I right in your opinion? many thanks!
I have a full set of Minolta lenses that I use on my Sony Alpha 77 body! Instead of buying a A mount full frame body, I wanted to buy a E mount full frame body because that is the way tech is going.
Thank you very much for your kind comment, it motivates me to continue with RU-vid. 🙏 I always try to be objective in my tests and I am glad that my video has helped you.
Thank you, I agree with you that it is a great product but it's working with only few recent bodies is a HUGE limitation!! I already bought it, so don't know what to do with it as of now!
Thank you very much for your comment! 👍 I don't understand Sony's firmware policy either. It would be great if all Sony camera owners could use this great adapter. What kind of camera do you have?
TWO QUESTIONS: 1. What lens did you film the SIRUI lens and camera body with? 2. Are the SIRUI Sniper series lenses the same lenses as the SIRUI Nightwalkers, just with AF and a different case? Thanks, and great video! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your comment. 👍 1. I filmed with a Sony A6400. 2. exactly, they are the same lenses as the nightwalker but with autofocus. I hope I was able to answer your questions. Please contact me if you have any further questions.😉
Thank you for your comment. Good bokeh is of course always up to the viewer whether he likes it or not. I have compared it with two G-Master and Sigma Art lenses (full frame) and it is almost identical.
Thank you for your comment. 👍 I'm really excited to see how SIRUI's lenses will continue to develop in future. I hope I can test more lenses from the Sniper series. They have done a very good job here.
Thank you for your comment. 👍 The aperture does not change as you do not have to switch to APS-C mode. You can also use this lens on the A7SIII and then you have a focal length of 56mm F1.4. You only have a very small vignette that you can correct, as shown in the video. 😉
Thank you for your comment.👍 With your camera, I would rather recommend the Tamron 18-300mm. It has a stabilizer and it is sharp. I will also be doing a review on it in the next few weeks. I'm currently testing it on the A6400. So stay tuned. 😉
It depends. On the one hand is starts at f2.8 but it change from 32mm to f3.2. The other lens starts from 18mm and it end at 300mm and it’s stabilized on top. This gives you an anvantage on the long tele end.
Hello, one stupid question for all the people rocking the a7 2. I have purchased a 50mm fe lens, AF is available in picture mode, but in movie mode i only have MF and no option to focus (while recording or even before it) My question is how to enable it since AF works with the kit 28-70
thanks for this video, helped me to decide a5000 is that I need since I don't do videos. Photography only and there's no big difference at all, saved money.
I've bought a Sony aiii FF camera to use with this lens - same issues as my apsc cameras. I get a beautiful closeup in manual or auto, then it reverts to a more distant but clear image. The Camera Shop Assistants could sort it either.
Thank you for your comment. 👍 That's really strange, I don't have that problem. However, it's also not normal for your lens to do this in manual focus. I hope you can fix it somehow.
Thank you for your comment. 👍 OSS definitely makes a difference, especially with telephoto and in the Viedeo range. I also hope that Tamron will bring out a G2 soon. It will certainly be even sharper, faster and a bit smaller. 😉
Thank you for your comment. 👍 Both lenses have almost the same performance. The old 50mm F1.8 was not very fast with the autofocus either. Which adapter do you want to use for it? This also makes a difference.
@@dawa5581I’m using a 7artisans adapter, ibis doesn’t seem to be working with it and af is a bit hit or miss. My usm 85 1.8 works a lot better af is always sharp and ibis works
It clearly states in the Sony info the limitations of this device, which cameras, which type lenses are supported and the modes that do or do not function. The LA-EA4 works well with A mount screw drive lenses, and, can be modified with the Monster Adaptor kit. Use the attached links for greater info on these adaptors: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mXsV3UJcwdw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5FvusonVmmM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Xy4GZURBkF0.html
Thank you for your comment. 👍 I also read the information on the Sony website and that's why I bought this adapter. However, it doesn't always seem to work with the cameras. I don't know if Sony have subsequently changed anything in the firmware but now some cameras no longer work that previously worked according to Sony.
I currently have a P900, and it can go to the surface of the moon, but what it has in zoom advantage, it lacks in final image quality and cropping possibilities. It's really neat to see how other cameras and lens operate with tests like these, and I'm kinda on the lookout for something similar, so I appreciate this a lot. Great shot!!
Thank you for your comment. 👍 I also used to have a P900 and was thrilled by the extreme zoom. But as you say, the image quality was not so good. This was mainly due to the small sensor. Have you already decided on a new camera? Do you need more help?
@@dawa5581 oh perfect timing actually! I've been looking at a Nikon Z7ii that I'm planning on getting a hold of today, and then I can try getting a hold of a 150-600 lens later down the line (once again, thank you for your video! There's not many videos that shows how the zoom works in action). I don't know if there are better alternatives to a Z7ii for me as a hobbyist who doesn't need the best of the best, but who would still like a camera with a lot of flexibility, but if you have any recommendations for something similar, I'm all ears! 😄
@@ArcienPlaysGames Unfortunately, I have no experience with Nikon. But if you want to shoot a lot with telephoto lenses, then perhaps an A6400 would also be interesting? The 1.5 x crop gives you a 900mm focal length at 600mm.
@@ArcienPlaysGames you are welcome. 👍 I have also more videos about this topic on my channel. Do you know clear image zoom? this is also a nice feature from Sony where you can get a 1800mm instead of 600mm. I have made also a video about it. 😉
Hey thank you for the comparison I actually ordered the 28-70 ,I love my sigma 1.4 primes but weight is an issue for me. Anyways I think maybe the lens sample itself can be a factor. Frost has done the same comparison and the art came out sharper from center to edges so imho maybe the actual sample aka each lens based on slight differences in manufacturing makes a difference, So im thinking you got a really good 28-70 off the manufacturing line. Appreciate your video cheers
Thank you very much for your comment and your kind words. 👍 I always try to be objective and honest in my tests. I buy all my cameras and lenses myself and can therefore create independent reviews. But there are sometimes big differences between manufacturers in terms of quality control. I have a video on my channel where I compare two of the same Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 and they have big differences in image quality. Sometimes it's like winning the lottery whether you get a good sample.

Hello, from ur experience, I wanted to ask u about bokeh comparison in sigma 85mm f1.4 lens on both apsc and full frame, which camera will result in more bokeh? I know that full frame is better in bokeh but considering the compression we get from the crop factor on apsc in the 85mm distance will that result in more bokeh than using it in full frame body?
Thank you for your comment. 👍 The bokeh will be almost comparable. Maybe even a bit smoother with APS-C due to the background compression. With full frame you have an F1.8 at 85mm and with APS-C an F2.7 at 128mm. With both cameras, however, you will have almost the same result at different distances to the object. I hope I was able to answer your question.
