The set dressing of the buildings that said Rachel County was from the Don Knotts movie ‘The Ghost and Mr Chicken’. Came out in 1966 and was based in the town of Rachel, Kansas.
looks very challenging. Great framerate! Meanwhile, technology already existed to destroy all modern cities using missiles that still can't be stopped in 2024. Interesting how war tech seems to always be ahead. Also, man had already landed on the Moon, and the SR-71 was developed way earlier.
Played this quite a bit recently at a local arcade and it's extremely frustrating in that the paddle does not go far enough to be able to intercept the ball at the extreme top and bottom of the screen. I couldn't fathom how they let this obvious problem go until I thought that maybe they did this on purpose to keep people from playing too long without having to put more quarters into the machine. Does anyone happen to know for sure? This is a huge flaw and really diminishes what is otherwise a thoroughly awesome game.
It was an unintended feature of the initial design but it does mean the game can't be played forever which is ideal - and it adds a little element of luck to your game, so they left it in.
@@toddramsey334 she's gorgeous but she can't dance...and as a white woman who was 27 in 1979, I think it's safe for me to say that white people were terrible dancers in the 70s...
this game was the basis of a few sketches on SNL,, therefore it was one of the only video games not to scare me back in the day.. couldn't play it by myself until '78 though..
First computer/console game I ever played back in the early 80s. I never outgrew my love for playing computer games. But now, it's games like MGSV and Far Cry for me :)
