We travel the globe full time with our big golden doodle Oliver. We both retired early, sold our home and everything we owned, to travel full time, meet new people, learn new cultures and live our dream to see the world. We’re just having fun making forever memories and sharing them with all of you!
@@thegreatescapers Indeed, and I saw Corvinilor on other similar vlogs... But your video, so simply and beautifully edited, with that music and thrills of mystery and dark history, seems to me just as majestic as the castle itself. Perhaps the most beautiful tribute to the "Corvinilor" castle on RU-vid. I was as moved as watching a great historical movie, and that's no small thing :) You guys know how to fully show your feelings!
Lovely city, I like that you can walk around without the fear of being hit by cars! They have been updating the city for a long time already, it seems to be always in construction. Mostly resurfacing and finishing other urban renewal projects :)
They are definitely doing a lot of improvement of the city infrastructure, it was one of our favorite places. It will be even better when they are finished with all of their projects. Thanks for watching :-)
I’m right here in Romania, just wrapping up my visit in Brașov and heading tomorrow to Sighișoara. Can’t wait and thanks for the tips. Any last minute recommendation for me? Brazilian tourist here.
Hello everyone, I'm always happy when I see such friendly videos of my hometown. What a sweet dog this is! I hope you really enjoyed your stay and come back! Best regards from Vienna :)
Awesome video guys! Glad to see you enjoyed your stay in the city I came from to my new home in the USA I love soo much, but used to go back to visit almost every year while my parents were alive. My uncle was priest at the Cathedral, and I was playing tennis on the red clay courts right next to the church in the park if you noticed!?Our house was 5 min.walk from the church. Thanks again!Otto
Thank you for watching! We really loved our time there and miss it. That’s really neat to have filmed somewhere you were fond of while growing up. We love hearing from our friends in Romania ❤️
We were wondering when you were going to post an update. Everything you said totally resonates with us. Full-time travel can be rough, especially with the "not so great" Airbnbs. Totally jealous about your dual citizenship. It's becoming more and more difficult to travel in europe which is a bummer. We hope the physical therapy helps so you'll be back in business for 2025. We will be back in Europe in 2025 so perhaps we can meet up if we are in the same city. We're starting in Italy around 2024. Cheers!
Hey guys! Awesome travels through Southeast Asia! Thanks for keeping up with us, we would love to meet up in Europe next year. Yes we were definitely due for some downtime. But we really can’t wait to get back and see more. Thanks you guys. ❤️❤️
Buying and validating tickets is very very important in Hungary. Unfortunately, we have a "blitzing problem" (I don't know if this is the proper word for it in English), it was even worse when I was a kid.
It was interesting that right after we left, they started a way to validate your ticket on the Budapest go app that we bought our tickets on. 😂 cool city but I can’t say Hungary was the friendliest on tourists…
@@thegreatescapers Why would you say this? You visited just Budapest, not the whole country, right? What was the problem , I don't understand? Is it because of the ticket incident?
@The_Catnip We had several unpleasant incidents there but you’re right, we only visited Budapest, probably not the best representation of the country as a whole.
@@thegreatescapers So why didn't you guys talked about those incidents in the videos? Maybe it would have been useful for others. I am curious about those incident tbh because you are so vague with your answers, it gives me a weird vibe... But whatever, thanks for the visit anyway!
Wow! What a treat to hear the choir practicing. We have been fortunate to have similar experiences, and it's always amazing to hear singing and organ in these old buildings with great acoustics. Can't wait to hear what you are planning next. Hopefully additional travel is part of the plan. Would be so fun to meet up in the future if our paths cross. Cheers! Steph@Chris@388_days
Hey y’all!! Yes travel is definitely in our future plans in 2025! We’d love to meet up one day! We’ll let ya know! Hope you guys are loving Southeast Asia!! We can’t wait to head that way one day. Love keeping up with you guys
It sounds like you had an incredible final week touring Budapest! Your adventure seems diverse and full of exciting experiences. Exploring the Buda Castle District, introducing Ollie to the metro, visiting iconic landmarks like Heroe's Square, Vajdahunyad Castle, and the House of Music, as well as enjoying the beauty of Margaret Island and trying Hungarian dishes at Lagos and Frici Papa must have made for wonderful memories. Ending your trip with a night cruise along the Danube and some homemade Taco Soup for a taste of home adds a personal touch to your travel story. It's great that you're inviting your viewers to join you in Vienna, Austria, for your next set of vlogs. Wishing you continued safe and enjoyable travels!
So cool your daughter could visit. That must have been so fun. Glad you took the time to just enjoy the city and Christmas markets. Sometimes it's good to just take a break from trying to film everything. I'm not sure how many people caught it, but Rory's comment about Mozartkugeln totally cracked us up! That's a running joke we have with some friends from Germany. -Cheers!
Great video. We were there this past October and loved it so much we are going again next week to play tour guide some friends. On a side note, I was more focused on enjoying your dog. We have a labradoodle named Ollie.
I have really enjoyed y'alls videos. We will be moving to Oradea this summer. Did y'all have a pet sitter for Ollie that you could recommend? We are moving with our two King Charles Cavialier Spaniels.
We loved Oradea! Fortunately Ollie does really great staying home at the AirBNB as we travel when we need him to, so we did not ever use a pet sitter. I’m sure you could find one there though! Enjoy Romania, of the 12 countries we visited it was definitely one of our favorites!
Thanks for passing by 😊 Oradea is the town were I was born ❤ Thanks for talking so nice about my city and happy to see here people from US :) Have a good travel always - cheers
Hungary is not considered a democracy by the EU, it is the most corrupt country in Europe and people are extremely poor. However, it is a nice Disneyland of past glory and long gone high culturre before WWII and WWI...
Kedves liquidnitrogen 4991.Nem koruptabb ország Magyarország némely EU állammal szemben.És dicsőséges múlttal kultúrával rendelkezik .Több mint 1000 éve Európa közepén.És ami a szegénységet illeti ,nem érzem magam szegénynek,és minden megvan ami kell.És Magyarország gondolkodása racionális európában.Minden tiszteletem az önné.
You must be drinking a lot of"liquid nitrogen" to make a comment like that,or you just hate the Hungarian people!?I recommend you visit Budapest(one of the nicest, and safest cities in the world) ,or the rest of the country before you make a comment like that...!
The thermal baths in Budapest were already known in Roman times, they sent wounded soldiers to recover to Aquincum (and built a town there, now a district in the north of Budapest), more than 2000 years before the Gellért baths and the others were built. The remains from the Roman period are still visible in Aquincum and other places in the north of Buda. Yes, you should always have a valid ticket on the transit in Budapest (actually you should everwhere). I’ve had my tickets checked many, many times. A few years ago I was in Budapest and I still had some tickets from the year before, I checked whether the price had gone up and it hadn’t. Only the colour had changed, so I thought “I’ve paid my fair, so I can still use these tickets”. No you can’t, even though the tickets were the same price, my ticket was regarded as invalid upon inspection and I had to pay the fine. No arguing possible with this bossy inspector with her two colleagues. I’m half Hungarian and I could speak fluently with them, but there was no remorse. I had to pay the fine. This was on tram line 2 alongside the Danube, a very scenic route popular among tourists and the inspectors see this line as a tourist trap to meet their goals. Nowadays I always buy a multi day or week pass for all the transit; it’s a bit more pricy than buying individual tickets probably, but it saves you from the hassle of buying the right tickets for your journey and the encounters with the ticket inspectors.
Thank you for the comment and for watching! We knew you had to always validate, it just didn’t read the second ticket 🙄 it’s an unfortunate situation that Budapest reacts in such a way for sure. We honestly just didn’t find many people there kind in any way honestly. Too bad, it’s an incredible city.
@@thegreatescapers Over here in the Netherlands and I’m sure in several other countries, you also will not be greeted enthusiastically by ticket inspectors if you don’t have a valid ticket. The people in Budapest, in my opinion, are not unkind, just like any big city people anywhere really. It’s no different here in Amsterdam, or London or Paris (try that place!). My experience is just the contrary actually, but maybe the difference lies in the fact that as a Dutchman, I speak fluent Hungarian. People are surprised when they hear I’m Dutch, most of the time they don’t even hear a foreign accent and assume I’m Hungarian. With even a bit of a western Hungarian accent though; I started learning the language when I was 2,5 years old during our first holiday in Hungary from my grandma and family Budapest is a fantastic city, it’s my second home town and I still know my way around there better than here in Amsterdam
@andyhorvath6630 yes, it would be so nice to be able to learn ALL languages to make traveling better for everyone! We’re learning Italian as we hope to have our dual citizenship there through family in Sicily next year. We understand, it’s so hard in Texas in the states when so many new people move there who speak Spanish and we can’t help them sometimes. So we understand!
Érdekes. Nekem azt mondta egy ellenőr ,ha ép a jegyen a hologramos csík a jegy érvényes.Sok éves jegy volt, meg is mutattam azt mondta jó a jegy. De lehet azóta változott a szabályozás.
Everything is nice there is Hungarian. Hard to see the statue of Ady (great hungarian poet)on the street, and the golden headstatue of King Saint László in the Episcopal Palace. All these things was stolen from Hungary. But nothing is eternal, once all of these will return to their rightfull owners, to Hungary!
You’re right, Oradea was Hungarian for nearly 1000 years, and before that, very few Dacians or Romans lived in the area, the city basically didn’t exist. It only became part of Romania in 1918 and became predominantly Romanian only in the late 60s early 70s after Ceausescu’s industrialisation and urbanisation. Sadly for the entire city, the Hungarian population has been in decline and I think it already dropped to under 25%. I don’t see Oradea returning to Hungary any time soon. It would take something miraculous to happen. Like Hungary becoming the next Switzerland or something😅
@@threesixnine369six Who thought in 1878, that 40 years later a fully hungarian city became part of a surreally extended Wallachia? All the hungarians would laugh on you if you telling them. So just take care, history working on mysterious way. And nobody can predicting the future...
@@threesixnine369six This is false. The Salca archeological site (the current Lotus Supermarket's location) in Oradea is the largest archaeological site ever discovered in Crișana. It's almost 7000 years old, dating back to 4800 BC, and it proves Oradea has been inhabited since then. There are news articles covering this and the city museum has thousands of artifacts on display; from ceramc pots, to tools, to decorative artifacts. So much for "very few inhabited the area".

Hello, 🦩🦩🦩🐼🐨🐼🐦🐦🐦May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
