Video was great. I just needed to know the commands and it could have been shortened a LOT for us who know what we're doing with CLI. I wouldn't mind a minimal video alternative, but I know these are aimed at beginners mostly. I just skipped around the video and found everything I needed, but the new version doesn't come with the GUI anymore. The new version doesn't need to unlock the bios either. It is now an "unknown" command. I skipped that step in hopes it would work, but since I was reflashing the bios I can't confirm from directly looking at the version number. I was hoping it would fix an issue with AMD FSR, but it didn't. One important step you forgot to remind everyone of was to uninstall those drivers that pose a security risk.

@@BitGoblin i dont remember what my issue was haha but i got it fixed. I think it was something with my raid configuration. Thanks for responding though.
thx for the updated video really helped, managed to get a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 4GB that's actually a 570 to work by doing this vbios flash. It was my last hope to get it to work considering i just got it and never got anything on the screen out of it. Without the iGpu I would have been screwd. It was showing nothing in msi afterburner or GPU-Z on memory clock and stuff.
Saludos desde Peru donde hay alguien muy agradecido con este video, I am very grateful that there are people who take the time and patience to teach the process step by step and correctly verify the process.
so if my router only has a normal ethernet port for 10g than i need to get a card like wise to that or is there a dongle of sum sort that can be a ethernet on one side and SPF+ on the other?
I would try googling for like "sapphire rx 7600 XT VBIOS" and see if anything comes up. Sometimes they have some unverified images that they don't list in their database. Do you mean my old tutorial? It's okay, but the GUI has been deprecated and there isn't a new version that supports the 7000 series cards, so I think you're stuck with the CLI
Fantastic. I'm self teaching myself Linux/Unix and utilizing an old Mac Pro 2009 which of course uses Unix BSD. I've networked my MacMini to the MacPro and now can use the terminal on both and SSH to write files. Interesting stuff. Not all Linux commands directly transplate but plenty enough do to not interrupt the education experience. Plus, there's always 'man' in Unix to look up its own commands and usage and I can use the interweb to figure out the equivalent commands if needed. Thanks.
It's possible a flash could fix it. To do so without a display though, you would need to either use your processor's integrated graphics to drive a display or use a second GPU to do it. I haven't tested it, but you might be able to connect to your system via RDP if it's already enabled
Rival 3 has a low quality sensor. If you're aiming to aim with very slow, precise, pixel-to-pixel movement, the mouse only allows you to do that @DPI above 4k. It loses response @ flicking, @ horizontal aiming especially. If you've been accustomed to logitech or razer mice above $80-100 this mouse will not satify you.
Thanks for the great video. It was very quiet, though. My laptop speakers aren't the best, so I keep my volume all the way up. The video I watched before this one was loud. But, when I watched this video, I actually plugged in my earbuds in order to hear it. Please keep creating this terrific content. However, if you could bump the recording volume up a bit, I'm sure deaf guys who have quiet speakers (like me) would highly appreciate it. Everyone with good speakers can always turn the volume down to suit their preference. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! I think this was actually one of the videos I messed up and forgot to add my usual EQ, compressor and other effects to, so it was a bit quieter than usual. But I'll definitely make sure to keep the volume up a bit!
@@BitGoblin ive been dealing with this issue over a year now, but nothing is blocking it, tried seperate isps in my home, from cable to dsl, but no success so far, its sad because I host lan at my place for arround 15 people and I like tinkering
Man that's really weird... It's not like an issue with Docker routing or anything? It really sucks to not be able to utilize this and you're like the perfect candidate to benefit from it!
I wonder if the new CPU just doesn't handle faster memory as well as the old one? But unless you downgraded that seems rather odd... Definitely worth an RMA
@BitGoblin that's the problem I replace my 14900k with a new 1 and the new 1 has an sp score of 101 compared to my old 1 which had 93. Don't think it's the cpu
@coryo617 oh yeah, I was thinking like if you downgraded from like an i7 to an i3 kind of deal, where the memory controller on the CPU might not handle higher speeds as well. But it would be weird for the RAM to all of a sudden not handle it. Maybe the new CPU is ever so slightly worse? Idk, just trying to think of what might be the issue
If you haven't already it might be worth disassembling the cooler and see if there's a connector unplugged or something. I wouldn't be surprised if it was used for mining that it was physically disconnected somehow to save some power
@@BitGoblin My card was preivously used, but not for mining. When I first recieved the card, everything worked perfecty, including the rgb until one random day it stopped working. This is the second time this has happened to me actually. The first time I simply shutted down my pc and drained the power out of it. It came right back on. The second time, nothing. Lots of looking up online later, I found out that I got hit by the mysterious gigabyte rgb problem with no solution. Basically I just have to wait till the rgb randomly comes back on 😭😭😭😭
Many thanks to you. Got a Radeon 6700xt from that went into blackscreen at boot 50% (Linux and Windows), crashed to black screen when above 90°C. So i did your flash procedure, because the vbios was from january 2021 and techpowerup had one from february 2021 (maybe debugged). Few minutes of work, now the card comes up at every boot and stay 85°, think they fixed stuff up.
I found when running Amdvbflash.exe version 5.0.567, it would not flash my rx 5700, which had some kind of mining bios on it, came back with various mismatching issues etc, so I found that reverting back to the 2.93 version and running the command amdvbflash.exe -0 nameof.rom -fp -fv -f -fs forced the bios update and all is working fine now, I did not try the command with the latest version of Amdvbflash.exe, but it might work with that too.
In a lot of cases RAM may only be bad in certain sectors/components and can function normally until you hit those bad bits (e.g. it loads Windows fine but loading a large game may hit the bad sector). Or it can be slightly degraded to where it's fine til it's under load where it fails.
@@BitGoblin ahh. New build and I used old ram I had laying around. Stuttering crazy. Used a used m2 drive too. But I’ll give this a try and see how the ram performs! Good video man!
Can you use powerline without a modem. I currently bought a new router and was wondering if I can get internet if I just plugged it into the wall with the power line.
I'm not entirely sure what you're asking? But they serve two different purposes, where a modem essentially just connects you to your ISP and powerline is just a way to connect your system to your local network (roughly equivalent to running a long ethernet cable). So they're not really interchangeable.
@@BitGoblin okay gotchu. I didn’t realize that you still needed to attach it to the modem for it to work. I’m assuming when you use Ethernet and you plug it into an outlet that goes to the modem as well.
I don’t have any Ethernet ports except one which is far away from my living room so I’m trying to find a solution to get wifi into my room to work better for my pc tower.
Oooh yeah I think I misunderstood what you were saying! So you don't have to plug it directly into your modem. Instead, you'd plug one of your adapters in an outlet near your router, and connect to one of the LAN ports on your router with an ethernet cable; and in your case plug the other adapter in an outlet near where you want your wireless access point, and connect to it with an ethernet cable (going through a PoE adapter if your AP does that). You can kind of think of it like a long ethernet cable - it's just using the power run through your house as an extension of the ethernet cable, just with more latency and in a lot of cases lower bandwidth :)
@Bit Goblin : I have an older gpu Nvidia GT 730 and I could not install it in Fedora40 Workstation. It always gives me black screen and I could not replace the newer 555.xx with the Nvidia driver 470xx. Can you please guide me or make a step-by-step video on this? It will be very helpful.
You will likely need to fully uninstall everything for the Nvidia driver (dnf remove nvidia* --allowerasing), run an update just to be safe (dnf update), then install the Nvidia 470 driver. Let me know if that helps!
@@BitGoblin I did that but I did not update it because I thought, if I update then the default Nvidia 555xx driver could be installed again through the update and the same thing would happen. So, after removing the Nvidia driver, I install the 470xx driver from RPM Fusion repository and then a weird thing happened. After rebooting, on the login screen, when I clicked on the wheel icon, which lets us choose the DE, there were only 2 options, GNOME and GNOME Classic. But before removing the default driver and installing 470xx, there were more options with these two like GNOME Wayland, GNOME Xorg etc. And when I logged in, this time it entered into GNOME Xorg DE and it became default. I know how the GNOME Xorg DE looks like because I used it before. And then the 2nd weird thing happened. In every window, be it settings or folders, nothing was visible except the outer borders of that window. But when I moved my mouse over a window, the texts and buttons became visible and sometimes they disappeared again. This is probably the 470xx driver incompatibility. This is the last experiment which I did and then I reformatted the SSD and installed Fedora from scratch and now it is running on Nvidia Nouveau driver. I should mention that Fedora always recognised the GT730 card.
How much time do you need to get to the point man? I'm trying to fix my gpu that can black out at any moment. But perhaps more damningly, this amdvbflashwin isn't in the download.
Yeah I rambled a bit, I try to do better but it happens a lot lol. But the amdvbflashwin has been deprecated and removed from the latest version, you'll need to use the CLI now. I made a new video explaining how to use it 🙂
Same. Bought 2 yrs ago, scroll wheel got broken and am looking for a new mouse with the same ergonomics. Not sure if I should go for the wireless one or more advanced one though.
@@mehmettalici you should get another one , after mine breaks im getting another one from steelseries cause i love the software and i wanna try something new
@@BitGoblin Not sure if he is doing the same as me but same issue trying to install a 6800XT Nitro+ Bios onto a 6800XT Pulse OC for the slightly higher power limit is there anyway to bypass the SSID lock?
@@BitGoblin Sadly doesn't work, found a reddit post about a guy managing to get a 6900XT Liquid Cooled bios on a regular 6900XT by using the Linux version going to try that once my new SSD arrives.
Do you HAVE to have a switch to run a 10gbps SPF+ connection? I’m looking at a gaming router that has the 10gbps WAN for internet connection 6-1 gig RJ-45 ports and 1 10gbps SPF+ port. Can I just get a 10gbps SPF+ pcie card and just run the cable straight from the gaming router to the card installed on my PC?
@@BitGoblingo to know so I just install this and ready to go 😎trying to figure out if my motherboard can support this device gigabyte b650m c v2 (rev.1.0)
bought a used rx 570 that had been submerged in mineral oil inside a miner rig. it had a mining bios on it, and this vid worked to get it back to stock so it can be used for gaming! thanks!
After flashing P/N not showing on amdflashwin how will i know my bios is changed or not? My problem is my gpu is fluctuating its usage like 90% sometimes and sometimes it drops to 2% i am not getting the desired fps i have an used gigabyte rx 570
Hello I just bought an rx580 8gb 2048sp around a month ago and I've been experiencing issues with it, here is the detail of its issue: when I'm in desktop or even just windows startup it freezes/stutters with the sound of windows connect/disconnect not if sound, and when playing games it freezes my pc for a few seconds sometime it would took a full minute to unfreeze then do it again for a few seconds. I have tried many fixes I know, reinstalling new and old drivers with the use of DDU, reseting gpu, reinstall windows (this worked for only a few days but would slowly go back to its issue), even checked for some virus but never find any, even opened it up and did a deep clean, still the issue persist. Do you know any ways I could do to fix this gpu? I would really appreciate it even though this vid a over a year old.
Have you tried flashing the VBIOS? Or have you tried potentially resetting or updating your motherboard's BIOS? It could be a bug in the firmware on either, or maybe the motherboard's BIOS needs an update to support the card potentially. If you've already those things, then it sounds like you tried all of the usual suspects of causing issues and might be a fault with the hardware potentially
@@BitGoblin I think I might have fixed it, I used the oven method lmao it stopped the issue completely and been running well for 3 days now not sure if it's gonna last a while though since it get quite hot when playing elden ring around 70-75c max despite applying new thermal paste.
Men thank you so much, I have a 380 overclocked by Saphirre, and it just happen when I was playing, black screen and a dot on my motherboard appearing, I just followed the step, got a new version and the UEFI work again ! Thanks :)
