She was wearing red at the funeral instead of black, surrounded by people giving her attention and sympathy. Someone at the funeral also said that the younger daughter was starting to get sick. The ghost girl saved her younger sister's life!

When the doctor was listening to the recording, it was a recording of one of his sessions with the man who killed him, when that man was still a child. He finally heard what the child heard, a desperate Spanish man--a ghost--begging for his life. So Vincent, his killer, saw dead people as a child just like Cole, but the doctor didn't help him. That's what made the doctor go back to help Cole. He finally understood and believed Cole.
