Michael Clarida Arts is a how to draw channel that shows the life and fun of being a professional artist. I review tech, show you how to draw characters and animals and get into the details of what it takes to be a professional artist. I also teach about design and visual art language. It is a channel about art. There are videos about Photoshop, Procreate, Sketch book pro, Zbrush and much more. I have over 23 years of illustration experience working and designing toys for Disney, Warner Bros., Marvel, Harry Potter, Sony, Illuminations, Nintendo and Pixar.
I can speak to XP Pen's customer service. I had an issue where my pen would randomly draw full pressure lines. I took painstaking notes, recorded video of myself drawing and showing the issue, and I was fully preparing myself for a fight to get the issue fixed. They responded and said "Oh yeah, that pen is broken" and just mailed me a new one. I was STUNNED.
Have you tried proportional (alt+shift) scaling object/layer, or proportional (and if you want square, holding shift and alt) cropping? its total mess, works slow and lags, cant scale at all actually with pen, only when I enter the number of percent. really makes work impossible. if someone has same problem and have found the solution, pls let us know... i am talking about surface pro 9
That's a lovely bit of drawing Michael. Maybe you could have developed the face a bit more but your lines and texture are brilliant. I've just bought an XP-Pen Artist 22 and getting used to it takes some time. Finding out how the brushes work so everything becomes second nature is a bit of a pain. It's a great screen though. Love your stuff.
@@johnmclaughlin8877 thanks! Yes…more time would have been nice. But…4 total illustrations in amongst my work load just was a bit outside of the realm of possibility:) Thanks for the comment! The tablet is great!! M
Omg! Indeed! I've purchase it on pre-sale and it's absolutly wonderful. Every aspect :The rubberized pen, the superfine detail, the color! I've mounted mine in an arm and I had the most ergonómic drawing experience of my life.I absolutly agarre, when they show up the 22 or 24 inch dysplay with this tecnology I'll Buy it. I was working with the artist pro 16 , the first product with the x3 chip, i hace no issues and I'm sure that it will last another 3 years at least. This artist pro 19 looks even better Quality. The experience is exactly like Michael says: it's absolutly delicious to draw and sculpt in it!.
Thank you for the review. The last pc tablet I had was a wacom bamboo. I like my ipad but miss working at my pc sometimes. This review helps a lot since it's on sale on Amazon and Im shopping around.
Hello Michael, I love your reviews and style. I have a quick question about this over the 19 pro gen2, does this one has the same type of tilt and rotation?
@MichaelClaridaArts oh, interesting, I'm debating on what model to get, mainly to use at home connected to me laptop on my couch, I like the design and size of the 16 inch, but the 19 has very good screen and that extra pen looks amazing. One thing is the Vesa mount, the 16 inch doesn't have that right?
@@Soul7akerno mount on the 16”. I have owned them all. This one is a great size and overall feel of the pen. Plus you get 4k, laminated screen with etched glass:) M
The 24” is bigger, has a non laminated 2k screen, quick keys on the left and right, and has a non glare film applied instead of etching on the glass. Additionally, the 24” has 8192 levels of pressure using a pro stylus(no chip in stylus). While it sounds like the 24” comes up short…for a professional it does not. Bigger is always better in my opinion. I use the 24” artist pro every day. It is a work horse. The 19” is epic as well. Just depends on your needs and budget as well as preference. Both are great. M
@@karmalbardin4036 nope. They are fine. You can always get a replacement for 15 bucks. However, they include 2 in the box. Pen tech on the 24” is still great.
The issue with those diagonal line peaks is that the drawing field is a grid made up of sensitive squares, which correspond to the resolution of the drawing tablet. It’s similar to pixel art, where diagonal lines can’t be perfectly smooth due to the low resolution. The peaks occur when the driver picks up a neighboring square, which isn’t always perfectly diagonal-it could be a side neighbor instead. This all depends on the angle of the diagonal line and the resolution of the canvas.
i'm appreciating these very in-depth reviews of yours more and more over time. there's sort of this long-form, not YT "meta" genre in every product category or job/hobby that's just a fun (and heavily insightful) watch regardless of one's plans to buy the thing or not
@@mipacem thanks! When I shop for a product…I want deep dive. Not just a swing. It has always been my view to show my real experience of getting and setting these devices up. Good and bad. Thanks for the comment. I have more on the way:) M
I have a XP-Pen display tablet and the nicer pen that comes with that will also work with the magic tablet. That's a very cool feature. My ipad died and will probably replace it with the Magic pad instead of another ipad. Nice review.
Hello Michael, sup? Sorry if I disturb, but I need a lil’ help:). I'm learning the calligraphy and calligraffiti, I dunno what tools are better to buy for do well my arts. I need a tablet that has a stylus with angle rotation of the brush that works in photoshop and mostly in illustrator, so I can use the angle rotation quickly for do black letters and gothic calligraphy. I know the IPad Air 11(2024) has hover and barrel roll, but I’d like to work on windows, I’ve tried illustrator on my iPad 10 gen and it’s so far from the desktop version. I have a good PC and MacBook pro, what can you council me so, what tools, maybe some screen tablet or a controller, I seen ur video about tourbox, but I don't find there infos I need. My budget is around 2k $. I think about Microsoft Surface Book 3 + Slim Pen 2 + Tourbox, I’m mostly working in Illustrator, fx on photoshop.
Samsung doesn't sell the s-pen replacement anymore for the Galaxy Tab S6 lite. It's ridiculous they discontinued it. Mine got damaged and I needed to replace it. I ordered the Wacom one stylus from Amazon and I like it. Feels better too. The only thing you lose is magnetically attacking to the tablet. Otherwise I am happy with it.
Good afternoon, I have a stylus for the s6 and would like to ask a question - does the wacom stylus allow you to tilt the stylus more towards the screen than the samsung stylus? I find the tip of the s-pen for the s6 too short and the body of the stylus too thick, which makes it hard to draw relaxed and makes you hold the stylus perpendicular to the screen.
Great video. I have the XP-Pen Artist 24 pro connected to my PC. I noticed that you were using your keyboard with your left hand to move your canvas around and zoom in and out etc. Could you lt us know what your main keyboard shortcuts were for this pls? I have programmed my tablet with various shortcuts but yours look very intuitive. Great job btw.
I have the Photoshop standard quick keys in my muscle memory(25 years of doing it). I also have illustrator, clip studio, and Zbrush. I do have a quick key remote that I use occasionally…but it is programmed the standard quick keys. Hard to break old habits. M
i have similat from another compny. also very sturdy. using for 13 inch m4 pro ipad. rotate is ratchety but stays in place. only has antislip on vertical sides, not the bottom.
@@MichaelClaridaArts that probably could improve overall SPen experience. I really don't like screen protrector on tablets. Had 2 Samsung tablets so far and zero issues with screen for over 10 years of daily use.
wow that is awesome, i am old school pointillism artist and just bought the 24 plus i can not wait to use it, i did build a new pc which will work perfect with this. Thanks for the amazing review with illustrations.
